- One of the craziest restaurants that I've ever been to - let's step inside the former number one restaurant in the world: The Fat Duck from chef Heston Blumenthal. It's a restaurant full of fun, whimsy, and wonder and genuinely would make Willy Wonka himself proud 😤
As always, let me know where I should go next - we explore some of the craziest restaurants around the world so we're always looking to go even crazier ❤️

Do not stop making these videos I literally just sat here for 3 hours and watched all of them and they are so interesting and amazing. It is clear you have such a passion for food and the storytelling power it has, and I’ve honestly gotten to learn so much just by getting to watch you at all these amazing restaurants. Keep it up!!!!
thank you!!! i will continue making them for sure - way better ones still to come 👀
The second I saw the mock turtle soup, in the form of a pocket watch, I knew it was The Fat Duck by Heston Blumenthal!
Forgot to mention, you can actually watch Heston making that pocket watch for the first time I. His Bizarre Feasts Alice in Wonderland episode!
This restaurant has a VERY special place in my heart; I went twice and have twice blown me away. I am so happy that you had a great time!
Is this place kid friendly?
Honestly when I hear a 3 Michelin star (for 19 years) restaurant is $400 for a meal… it sounds like a good deal to me. That’s like 3 dates at a basic restaurant
Agreed, unlike that restaurant who puts a thin gold paper on a steak and price it at $1000
Where the heck do you live where you pay 133 at a basic restaurant for two people?? Thats a lot
@@Mienarrr That's like most mid-level restaurants anywhere in America. $40 for an entree, $15 on apps, $15 for wine then x2
@@victorchen9170 woah damn. i guess with wine as well it can get expensive. here in austria you wouldnt pay more than 100 at a midlevel place for entrees mains shared dessert drinks and wine though...
This is on my bucket list. Thank you for featuring it on your channel 🖤 Heston is definitely number one on my favorite chefs' list
I am a culinary student in Paris, I was ten when I discovered Heston on TLC, and it has been a dream of mine to work for him one day. It seems they don't take interns from countries other than the UK. Hopefully, I get a job at the fat duck once I graduate.
Bonne chance ! 😊
I am so pleased to have spotted what looked like Dave McKean illustrations on the menu. Paused to look it up and I was happy to see that I was right! I don't think I've ever thought about a restaurant doing this kind of illustrated menu before- so interesting.
"You have to play card games for your food."
well god damnit i guess i'm not eating today
Yeahhhhhh I dont want to be hangry while playing some annoying pos card game.
Your work is amazing and outstanding! Beautifully filmed, highly informative and very pleasurable to watch. Imo, your channel ranks on the top of restaurant- perception- channels! Greetings from Germany
Wow does that EVER look amazing! Thanks for showing me a dining experience I know I'll never have the opportunity to try. Fantastic!
i just found your videos! they're awesome. i live about 3 miles from the fat duck, and finally went a few years ago. i didn't know what i know about food now, i didn't even know about michelin stars! i REALLY need to go again.
a lot of these dishes were actually developed on a show called hestons feasts that you should definitely check out if you can find it! some british empire glorification BUT the follow ups hestons fantastical food and hestons great british food are a lot of fun too!
Watched like one vid and subscribed, great content, makes me hope I could experience these things someday!
Oooooohhhhhhh sounds so spectacular and a one time experience to cherish
😮👌👍❤️
It's incredibly hard to earn a Michelin Star. The criteria is insane. So, not only is this restaurant imaginative, it has the chops to back up the prices they charge. Nice❤.
Hey just a suggestion for the next video but you should try out Ossiano I’m dubai it’s an underwater restraint with views looking into the aquarium. It has an 11 course menu inspired by the coast
I want to eat at his restaurant at least once in my life. After watching him on this cooking show he became one of my favs!
I don't think I would ever want to pay this much for a meal, but this does seem pretty cool.
Also, how long do you have to wait between courses? Is there a long wait time?
not too long! usually like 5-ish mins between courses?
this has been my dream restaurant since i was like 7, cant wait to go there one day!
I'd love to go to The Fat Duck, but the menu scarred me so much that I'm scared they'll cook me at the end of the experience...
Also that salad popsicle, LOL that's clever.
the menu scared me too, but i've accepted my fate 😤
Just order a cheeseburger before you plan to leave.
@@nevillelongbottom106 lol the menu
Oh my God, I loved the experience you get and I went there a long while ago… sometimes people forget that Michelin is the tire company and three stars yes please that you would drive out of your way to eat at for the experience of it
Blumenthal > Ramsay. I SAID WHAT I SAID!
100% agree (but don't tell ramsay that)
Can i request that you review Eatrenalin at Europa park its a very intriguing combination of a fine dining trackless dark ride that is very unique i really want to try it but cannot find that many reviews thank you
I like the Hungarian Dance number 5 in the background. Nice touch
Added to the Bucket List
I say change the thumbnail.. I only clicked on the video because of your community post.
But I did just subscribe a day or two ago. I’m excited to see more!
That looks so good
it was so good omg
Heston has some excellent tv shows
Nice!
might be stupid but that nitro frozen aperitif was honestly one of the best things i've ever had
Literal gastronomy
i worked at the duck in 2010. way before the rennovation. when we were working out of sheds in the back yard. lol
Is that restaurant still operating?
yes!
@@ligierwhen will you upload again?
This video is so underrated like-
Wow I’m eating hi-chews while watching this video 😂
You should go to Mugaritz in San Sebastian :D
remember to budget the cost of McDonalds drive through after
Michelin star dishes all look so delicious and bizarre, but then it turns out it's only two crumbs on a gold dusted plate
don't worry, this place was a ridiculously large amount of food (most people couldn't finish the last few bites and had to take them home to eat later) HAHA
This has not been my michelin experience at all. Most of the time the individual portions are small but there are a lot of courses
@@mattaecusyeah and it takes you stomach a while to tell your brain its full
most places in this style of fare dont like to scam ppl stomaches at the very least and will serve many courses and in the end the volume of food is very great
I am guessing you haven't eaten at one.
You ever try team up with guga im new just a question
we don’t live in the same city but we have chatted and will def do something if we’re in the same city at some point :)
The Dover sole and jam tart playing card, the Wagyu and grape detritus, the MUSTARD ICE CREAM, &c. At four hours and $400, I am there!!!
Besides, who am I to deny the chefs and waitstaff the pleasure that they would so obviously get from cooking for and serving me?
nice
I think this place has had its day. Exact Same menu from when I visited 12 years ago.... it rarely changes any courses.
that’s actually because it was a special 25th anniversary menu which highlighted a lot of classics! they’re back to their regularly changing seasonal menu now :)
What a self righteous comment lol, change that attitude
“dont play with your food”
Michael:
I wish i had the money to eat at one of these places
If I were able to eat at any 3 star Michelin restaurant, this would be the first place I go
Not to put you off at all, but just so you're aware, triple starred Michelin restaurants vary hugely in price.
To give you an example, as long as you were clever about it, you could grab a meal at Gordon Ramsay's flagship restaurant for under $360 (say, half a bottle of wine and the prestige menu, plus service), whereas some charge more than that just for the food.
I must go there n the alice in wonderland restaurant in japan
This is a restaurant I have wanted to visit for year in 40 next year we are going to go me and my partner are born on same day same year so we have to so this ❤️
I been there twice it’s nice, it’s definitely worth the money unlike the shitty salt bae steaks
Lmao you can buy a cow an keep it in the living room if your wife really likes you an it's a better deal than salt bae
"You're meant to feel like a baby"
"Champagne"
Hello sir, I found out that you were looking for thumbnail designer
high art is just rich people patting themselves on the back for saying obvious things
this dudes continent's is sort of jarring
hard to tell a bad joke for this one. I guess I’m just FAT out of ideas.
I’m the first
first
🤍🤍🤍😱
Does not look appetizing. I'm sure it's tasty though.
Great content but it ruins the surprise element.
Yeah but how many of us in all likelihood are ever gonna be able to eat at this restaurant?
Then don’t watch 😂
Michael, are you a Freemason?
Jesus, this is how the world ends... Rich people suck
What's wrong with it?
It's a load of bollocks . While the world starves. 1st world problems
Absolutely bollocks
While the rest of world starves. What a load of total bollocks
Clickbait !
and again... a meal wher I could buy Food for multiple weeks.. what a waist of money
You should spend that money on english classes
Nice!
