Bob is amazing. His part as Saul Goodman is just legendary. No one else could do it better.
Mill Maher was literally shown to

at 1:23:24.
For sure the truth 👊🔥
These two have great comedic chemistry! They should do more together. The conversation felt so natural.
not sure what you just witnessed... Bob was very defensive throughout the interview. He holds bill on a pedestal. Its obvious envy killed his career.
Pearl, I would say Bob is extremely humble and Bill is more hardened. It's his show, after all. I didn't think Bob was defensive at all.
@@pearlrival3124 seek help
I think that chemistry has to do since we are witnessing genuine conversation between two intelligent comedians rather than an acted bit. It seems like they didnt script it out at like talk shows often do.
@@scottamartin2518 And Bob has SUCH respect for Bill that Bill becomes a bit dissarmed and allows himself to become positive. Yes Bill has so many good points when he is angry, but to see him positive is just sunshine.
Bob is awesome. One of the funniest sketch guys ever, and holy hell he killed in when he went into drama. Hope that ticker is doing good fella!
And somehow, you can't forget he also did awesome action.
Bob and David Cross was the perfect duo, funny as hell.
Ronnie Dobs
Kneepads and Chapstick
Great comedians are always good in drama. Comedy is hard, crying/being human is easy.
All apologies to Robert Deniro.
Bill is so much fun when he has guys on like this who are happy to be there and have an established rapport with him. More of this please Bill. Take a break from the politics just a bit each episode. And GET THIS GUY ON YOUR PODCAST.
I am so glad he finally got his due. He has a rich history of comedic genius. Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul really put him in the limelight and showed us all what a talent he is. Congrats good sir, well well deserved.
Imagine coming into Breaking Bad for a few-episode comedic arc, and then being so good you get your own 6 season drama, one of the best of its era.
Well said, spot on !!
Just rewatched seinfeld and he was great too.
@@winstonplatt7354 Nothing but awe and respect for the guy. Saul Goodman will forever be one of the best characters in television thanks to Bob. I knew the spinoff would be worth watching but that it would be this good was a pleasant surprise.
And then he crushed it in Nobody. :)
Bob was on the Ben Stiller Show which was on CZcams last i checked. He was young as were the rest of the cast.
Bill...keep up this type of positivitely....we NEED you in this good headspace so that you can keep this show going for many many years. We need your voice!
Living in a van down by the river. One of the best lines ever!
I think Bill needs a dose of Bob’s humility. Bob is great.
This man is an American treasure. Fucking genius. Absolute genius.
Bob and all his fans are so lucky he survived that scary heart attack on set.
Indeed!
Meth is bad. Don't do meth.
Good to see him looking so healthy and engaged.
I'm not falling for Slippin' Jimmy's tricks again.
i read the book comedy comedy drama
If you haven’t seen the last season of Better Call Saul, it’s one of the best TV seasons i’ve ever seen. Definitely worth the five season ride - Odenkirk is a master
Six started this week!
really? where did you watch it before the rest of the world?
No I have not since the final season (6) just started Monday.
@@pearlrival3124 I’ve watched the entire season six already, but it was a preview copy meant for review for an online culture magazine. Obviously won’t give any spoilers, but it’s gonna be one hell of a ride. You guys have no idea how good it is!
@@ajs8873 I have to wait a year. I get it on Netflix
Bob is such a cool guy. Can't help but to love him. Better Call Saul is such a beautifully written, performed and filmed show. Masterpiece.
I think his character, much like Gus Fringe or Mike are MUCH better in the new show. Hector is about equal since he was given more time to develop in BB but is still more fully developed in this series than BB. I hope they have even more Gus and Mike in the last season
U should check out Mr Show
George Carlin had that anger component in his comedy, and he was a master at it
I could watch Bob Odenkirk interview for hours. One of my favorites.
Who else old enough to remember when Bob appeared on Real Time as his Mr. Show god character, in the earliest of episodes.
Who else a fan of Bob's for 25+ years.
^Posted before I got to the part about the god character.
And I didn't know anything about this Robert Evans fellow.
Love Bob. So even keeled. Loves to talk showbiz and share his experiences in detail, yet self deprecating and humble.
Thrilled he's getting this spotlight. 'Nobody' was great and can't wait for the sequel.
He is so real!
Mr Show
Another great
Mr.Show is legendary. The connection between sketches was fantastic. All hail MENOCU!
Mr. Show is top 3 sketch comedy shows of all time. Still hilarious today.
Kudos for not going straight to "You almost died, wanna tell me about it?" like the rest of the late night jimmies. This was a nice instance of game recognizing game.
Instead he went "you almost killed me, I'll tell you about it." Pro.
The traveling salesman bit from Mr. Show was the greatest thing ever.
Can we also appreciate what a badass he was in Nodody? That was one of the best action films I've seen in a while.
Not a single word about his movie "Nobody". It's great.
Bobs acting in Better Caul Saul is world class, thank you Bob
Bob is always trying to give his genuine thoughts on things and be as honest as he can...like he is trying to make sure he is being forthright with his own thoughts...I dig it.
I live in Abq and live next door to the building that was used as Saul's Omaha apartment. I met him and watched them tape a couple scenes for S5 of Saul talking in a car in a storm, and scene where he changes the license plate on his car.
Punch this antidote up a bit
@@xtrachrisb488 Do you mean anecdote? I got a letter from the production company about a week earlier, taped to my door, which basically said, If bright lights in the middle of the night bother you, call this number. Instead I joined my property manager, Tony, to watch filming, which took place after midnight. Tony was also the manager of the building being used. (Both that building and my small complex were owned by the same woman.) We were eventually invited to share the production's food. This is when I got to meet Bob. I said Hi while he talked to Tony about literature. They had met in S1 for scenes used at the beginning of 1.1. You can even see my balcony on the left side of the screen for a couple seconds around 2:10. The director also directed BrBa eps.
He would be a great guest for Bill's podcast. I'd love to hear them talk for an hour.
Me too!
Better Call Saul was legendary. You go Bob.
Was?? Are you from 2023??
It is every bit as good as Breaking Bad.
I'm in the middle of Binge watching Better Call Saul now! Epic!
@@toriless Yes. Now i shall eleminate you because you know too much. Jk. It's the last season afaik. I couldn't even enjoy it knowing it's the last one. It's dead to me.
@@susiewright7904 Yes Susie, Bing not Google. Because we're in China, Susie.
bob is a natural & i hope he can entertain us for years to come
It's all good man
Bob Odenkirk’s brand of comedy has it’s own brand of comedic genius! Kudos and appreciation for all his work‼️🌹🌈
His movie, Nobody, has one of the best car shootout scenes. I've watched the movie 3 times. Great characters.
Its all good man.....
Bob rules, thx Bill for the interview
American Legend! His Saul Character is LEGEND..he makes my day!
One of the best interviews Bill, good job!
I met Maher at the show in Aspen Bob (and David) did the Robert Evans bit. I had a snowmobile accident that day and went to the show with a broken leg and foot. The reason Bill said he was standing to watch Bob’s bit was because he gave me and my friend his seats. I met Bob in trader joe’s.
I love Bob Odenkirk, ever since I found his sleazy lawyer character on Breaking Bad. Then he knocked it outta the park with 'Better Call Saul'. He's great at that character... and a really good human being (based on my research 😉).
Yeah, the subtitle could have been "poor Kim" but not now, she is even scaring Jimmy.
Bob just had me laughing over and over...great guest!!
Mill Maher was literally shown to

Only a legend like Bob Odenkirk could get me to watch Bill Maher's hacky shtick.
The first two episodes of Season 6 have been masterpieces so far. Bob Odenkirk is amazing.
I love Bob Odenkirk for saying that after he has done his jokes twice, he starts to hate them. That’s what makes him exceptional.
My two favorite comedians right here...both smart, still humble, and grateful. Maybe that's the magic sauce to longevity in that biz.
Who isn’t humble?
This was one of the most honest interview with a person who knows his won strengths and weakness and ADMITS to them. This is such a strength that I rarely see in people at the top of their career. Finding what you can and can't do in life is so difficult and it's so refreshing to see who a successful person do it well.
Big fan of Bob Odenkirk. He was my favorite in breaking bad.
Mr. Show was hillarious.
I hadn't watched a traditional TV show in nearly 4 years, then I saw clips of Bob doing Saul and remembered how much I loved that character, rewatched the whole thing and enjoying the new season!
@Angelica Montes what the fuck is this
What an honest guy. And great actor.
@Carsen Hooper thank you
Bob Odenkirk is a man of enormous talent and wit. Bill, how come no mention of him on another HBO series, The Larry Sander’s Show as Larry’s shady agent Stevie Grant in a recurring role? I loved this interview.
maybe cause that's 25 years ago and it was a tiny role and really not that outstanding.
Stevie’s role as agent was great, representing 2 talents vying for the same job. “I’ll do the best job I can for both of them.” That WAS early-Saul.
@@cleatusbarncoat8642 👍🏻🙏thank you and great example. He even showed up in a very early episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm called Porno Gil and a Dinner party at his house, the ex porn star, in which there were a number of problems for Larry, of course. The
Not to mention being one of the 4 on the Ben Stiller show
@@moloney55 OMG - I forgot about that. That show was canceled way too friggin soon🙏👍🏻
Mr. Show is the funniest show ever on television.
He looks great and his face gives me a great sense of comfort - Strangely, since he was just a vaguely familiar face for years, until Better Call Saul which for me is the best show since Fargo season 1. He's just brilliant, good one Bob
Bob is awesome
I have to admit that I just became aware of Bob through his move “Nobody”, which was great. I didn’t know he had a comedic side
The fact that he never took an acting class and is able to give the dramatic performance he gives in Saul is pretty astonishing honestly
Appreciate Bill's decades of experience that he can draw upon for interviews like this one with fellow comedians.
Bob is a living legend!
Mr Show is pound for pound one of the most rip roaring funny shows EVER!
we love Bob
Cool to watch perhaps my two favorite entertainers talk. Bob’s book is brilliant, he describes his failed projects which most of us know sometimes contain the best ideas, as well as the successes which his talent and charisma were eventually going to bring him. Check out the Ben Stiller show from the 90s, Mr. Show’s sequel as well from 2015 (called “w/ Bob and David”) the “Nobody” film, an exciting, gripping action film with one particular funny scene (which if you watch carefully will stick out), and of course Larry Sanders. I met him on a book tour around 2014 and I love how he related to us as individuals. He signed my book with the inscription, “Thanks for watching too much TV”. Brilliant.
I could watch these two the whole hour. Bill should bring him back and just talk about their career and comedy.
How have I never heard of Mr Show?!
Love Bob!! Killed it in BCS!
I love this man
Bob is the best!! Really. He’s such a nice guy. He was on a smartless podcast a couple of months ago and the guys loved him!
wow. he's a seriously great dude. you can see how bill is trying to get him to be arrogant, but he just isn't having it
not so much trying, but more of a case of showing his genuine respect and admiration.
This was a fascinating conversation. They both exhibited a level of intimacy that you rarely find in the media. The mutual respect was obvious before it was expressed.
Great interview. So funny 2 of the best.
The character of Munch, origins was a GREAT show called Homicide- Life on the streets. Detective in Baltimore then moves to NY. Several other really good actors too!

Loved that show!!!!! Amazing genius MR SHOW
He is the best late night talk show manager ever portrayed on television
Great great conversation, great information. A true privilege to be a fly on the wall for this exchange.
Great interview! Love both these guys, and I'm straight! ( :))
Congradulations, I will buy and read the book. Asap,🌹
Everytime I see bob in a suit I think about Jimmy Mcgill
Life without comedy is life without taking a piss, just got to have my regular dose. Peace
Mr.Show was the MUTHERFUKKIN BEST !
birthplace of tenacious d too.
I like these types of interviews.
" Live in a van! Down by the river!!" Odenkirk wrote that
He did?
@@jamielacerte9806 yup! That was him. Wrote it for Chris Farley
I have known Bob Odenkirk sense his early career. Feel like he adopted Kansas City as his home town. I am a fan Mr. Odenkirk.
Well now I need to see that whole God bit.
It's in season 4 of Mr Show
@@LOWBATTERY379
There's also a bit that was done on the early episodes of Real Time... back when it was good.
What a gentleman
Love Bob so happy for his success
Yeah Richard Belzer is in the Guinness book of records for playing the character Munze in 7 different shows, but yes brilliant comedy artist, Rj in Oz
Two legends! 🔥👏
Really enjoyed this interview.
I liked the show Kid Notorious with Robert Evans on Comedy Central back in the day. Slash's soup was great.
Better call Saul is so great for many reasons, and bob is one of them. His acting is incredible and I don’t know how many of us saw it coming. Breaking bad is like staring at the beautiful ocean of “Saul.” Better call Saul is like diving beneath the surface and seeing so so so much more.
I love this guy 💖
hi Bill, can you do a podcast with Johnny Depp, if JD loses the court case but JD gets to share his experience and let the people share and support him, thanks man😊😅😮
keep fighting for us, Senator Tankerbell
You Tubing it!
Brilliant interview
Bob Odenkirk is a legend!! 🔥
Mr. Show was such a great comedy show! Top 3 of all time!
It was a great transition from In Living Color( so great! )
Same with Chappell show( hilarious and edgy )
I wish I could be everywhere people are doing art🤣🤗
Nice to see Bill O'Reilly back on Real Time
Bob is the man !
I swear Saul Goodman is simply Homer Simpson's brother, Herb, from "The Simpsons".
My first impression when seeing Mr. Show the first time was, this is an American Python. Never heard Bob or David ever say that so I was glad to hear Odenkirk admit that here...
@Jordyn Vargas Crudder mare lipnik droozle frump. Junkinate grasponbrub.
Winter- und frühlingsblühende Nieswurz haben nicht nur tief eingeschnittene
Can we also admit that he makes a great action star also? Nobody was gritty and fantastic
Please have Odenkirk on your podcast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fabulous Video of Bill Maher & Bob Odenkirk Together on Real Time, Thx so much 4 Posting....😝👻👻👽
