@@mrsqueakthecat.8061 @J Rnd Maher said it. Climate change. When Ben is in front of Maher or Sam Harris (his "liberal" friends), he quickly patronizes them with the party line "I agree it is a problem, but the Democrats are addressing it wrong" ... On his show, there is no patronizing. There is also no solution offered. And in the Corporate owned GOP, that is intentional and exactly what they want. Lip service to voters followed by complete inaction by the government or its agencies acting on behalf of the American working class.
What Maher refuses to acknowledge is that the Democrats pay the lip service, talk about the correct solutions, and then give blank checks to their half of the corporate donors.
Neither one will simply state the facts they both know. Status quo corporate oligarchy is here to stay. The people in Congress are a pantomime for angry, abused working class adults to yell at each other and remain divided indefinitely.

Biden IS senile. Even if he's acting the way he's been behaving on purpose, it's still wrong as president.
Trump is not half of the things people say that he is and "crazy" is hardly something that you can state as a fact both for Trump and Biden. You can have your opinion on Trump and make fun of the way he drinks water, he's orange, he's uncultured, he's a caricature... well, everyone already did that for four years but is he crazy?
Trump did those cognitive tests to see if he's able to be president and he is, as far as I know, Biden refused. With the exception of "lying, corrupt" CNN and NYT, Trump have always stopped to answer reporters and if he couldn't he would yell his reason...
Biden is unapologetic crass when he's in a bad day towards reporters AND VOTERS. It's all documented on NPR, Reuters, CNN... Biden "being a creep" is not something MAGA invented, he has the image of creepy for years.
I realized that Biden was mentally unwell the time when CNN had to fact check almost all of Biden's answers ON THEIR OWN PROMOTED EVENT. You can search for it if you want... it was about, among other things, the second covid vaccine, if I'm not mistaken...

No matter your level of passion (justified or not) the extremism on either side has made everyone either so angry or so passive almost to the point of indifference. We are all exhausted. I know I am. It surprise a lot of people here, but most liberals are like this. Sadly, they aren't the ones being glorified by the MSM and getting popular on Twitter. That's partly on us, too. Conservatives and centrists always share the crazy progressives and laugh at how insane they are, but that just draws all eyes to them.
We should stop giving them the attention and give it instead to liberals like Bill, here, that are willing to have real, productive conversations.

I'd be more suspect at the officers letting them in, perhaps when large assemblies of our government get together for big events where large groups of protestors assemble, there should be more boots on the ground defending/observing instead of a skeleton crew who open the doors wide for them to enter like an invitation. (And I do recognize the possibility that they opened the doors to save themselves, again the solution would be have a larger security detail). Ideally you wouldn't need a large security detail for such events, but we live in non-ideal times, if there are threats abound one must meet them with appropriate response, not kneel in defeat because "it shouldn't be required". No he doesn't & eff him. Trump took every legal avenue to try to get a fair vote when he was actually robbed. All we wanted was a thorough investigation, but the democrat run states refused to comply. And tell me... Exactly how much proof is needed to admit an election is compromised? Not hundreds or a hundred thousand votes? There is tons of evidence of tampering with the votes. There are tons of compromised situations caught on tape. The 2020 election was a farce. Trump did not incite the riots, nor opened the door for the trespassers to enter. The FBI found that there was no plan to riot in the capitol. It was a spontaneous event that occurred when people that knew they were cheated reacted in kind. It's called civil disobedience. No one was armed or hurt anyone. The term insurgence is ridiculous overkill. AOC claiming she almost died at the mobs hands when she was not even in the same building shows how low & degenerate Dems will go to inflate a situation to back their narrative.

      Better run of river generators

Iron without coal - you really cant have one without the other, Add a carbon tax and like many left leaning ideas... it ends up adding to the already high cost. I am not saying nothing should be done... but I am saying is the whole idea just has not been thought through yet... Flip the stitch today, and when the sun goes down... the lights go out - we are years and years from Solar and Wind and Batteries to get us through the night - and the question bares asking... At what carbon price? You want less? but it will take a lot more to get there.

      Prevent what exactly?
The term as it stands is a highly politicized term that is so broad and vague as to be ultimately pointless at this stage, that's why I dislike the very term 'climate change', since it's a catch-all term people can use to shut down discussion regarding very specific areas of concern. What are we talking about here, air pollution? Sea pollution? Changes in temperature? Where? How? Air pollution is a major cause of concern in China and India and is unacceptable in certain cities, not so much in most of the developed world. Sea pollution is through the roof in most of China (not in a few select places to the West, from what I gather), not so much in most of the West.
Specific cases like the air pollution Maher mentioned are a serious cause for concern, for sure, and we should deal with them on a case-by-case basis. When people use the fearmongering term 'climate change', however, it's often associated with a general post-apocalyptic narrative that the world will end in a few years if we don't shut down everything and push a multi-trillion dollar spending bill out toot-sweet. The reality is a lot more localized and the consequences largely dependent on the level of development of the affected area.

@@clydekimsey7503 No. Liberals value freedom over authority. A common misconception is that liberals are Democrats, but there are liberal Democrats and liberal Republicans. While liberals tend to be left-leaning, people like Ben call themselves conservative liberals.
On the other hand, a progressive is a liberal, but they specifically want social reform. You could see this as a progressive vs traditional political alignment, someone who is progressive values change.
