The irony of how most shows portray him as a food king, then can't stand a fair amount of foods outside his culture. Takes balls to be able to humble himself like that

@@wungus-bongo you'd expect a chef to have been exposed to a wide variety of flavors and textures to not insta-spit things out. imo, it's likely a mental thing. if he can eat lobsters, crawfish, crabs, shrimp, etc...he can eat bugs if he had less of a mental block. the things i listed are basically aquatic bugs.

i remember the moment i realized insects were delicious. when i was in boy scouts, they all told me that red ant abdomens tasted like jolly ranchers. i thought they were trying to set me up but the second i actually tasted one i was in the club.. insects are amazing and have practical applications in modern cookery

@@jacquelineconerly9150 I think these particular locals are less scared of falling and dying than Gordon Ramsay. It's like people who do skydiving. They are less scared of their parachute malfunctioning and them dying than, you know, normal people. Good for them. I'm not gonna do skydiving though, sorry, I don't wanna die. That doesn't make me a coward or something, it's just that some people, probably innately, are less scared of super scary things that most people are terrified by.

@@garrysmodsketches , skydiving looks like a lot of fun but I'm with you on not doing it. Surfing looks like a lot of fun; especially, the hang-10. Watched a show where the kids caught tarantulas and cooked them up with rice for dinner. You gotta be a local to do some of these things. Youth, typically, warrants fearlessness, invincibility, and throwing all caution to the wind. Old age has one flooring imaginary brakes passenger-side.

@homejo9601 I breed dubias for only feeder insects. I heard they don't taste all that good, but I've recently started breeding superworms which apparently taste delicious. All you really need for superworms is 3 plastic drawers which costs like 20-30 bucks, oats, and some food like carrots for them to get water from. That's it. Feed them every once in a while and they'll start breeding. It's not much of an investment at all and you don't need much space unless you decide to turn it into a large scale farm. I'll eat some eventually but I'm just starting out right now. Superworms usually act like a topping for dishes. They are like nuts, except with a lot more protein. I've tried chapulines and a Mexican grasshopper, and they taste really good on tacos.
