Wendy, can y'all do a video on John Houston homes and your thoughts on them as a builder, craftmanship, and their contracts?
I sure can!
I’ve commented in a previous video that it would be a good idea to consult a Home Inspector regarding Home Builders.
The wife and I just did that this week. We spoke with two and learned that builders aren’t required to have a License in Texas.
Plus we were advised to stay away from many of the popular Dallas builders and a few Nation wide builders.
Build quality in the Dallas area has been an issue long before COVID.
There is so much to be said of using a good home inspector!
Sounds as difficult as a home warranty. I got the seller to pay for a home warranty we even had problems getting the contractor to come out to get the locks changed. We paid and they had offered and advertised. Can’t recommend American home shield. Not renewing in a few weeks. Wasn’t worth the money IMO.
It’s true! We’ve heard that many times.
i will say that Britton comes back and fixes ALL the stuff they screwed up
That is so great and it doesn’t surprise me at all. They’re a subsidiary of Perry and Perry services their warranties themselves. Awesome!
@@WendyPannell yes. it's a shame the houses were built this way but it's pretty much the way it is in north texas
How can you buy a home in Texas if you don't live there or work there
If you will need a Texas job I would focus on that first. If your work is remote then your attention turns to the home itself. We work with buyers in this position quite often. We can do FaceTime calls and send videos, plus all the data of course. It’s more work for your Realtor but that’s what we’re here for!
If you have a job in Texas lined up, there’s loans that are available for you to have the time to move and have time before you start working as long as it’s the same industry then it’s not hard to do
@@WendyPannell if I have a relative living in Texas can I use their income along with mine to buy
That’s a lender question for sure!
