Never thought I would consider a pre-owned home, but the more I find out about these contracts with builders... the more I am leaning that way.
Definitely some concerning contract clauses for sure
My tradition home is almost complete. My experience from contract through construction has been very positive. I’ve had multiple third party inspections and the quality has been very good. Just sharing my personal experience for tradition in windsong ranch.
This is how I feel about Tradition! They’re small with not a ton of history but the quality seems to be top notch!
I just came back from a trip to Dallas. All I can say is that there are a whole lot of builders selling cheaply built homes.
Just pay close attention to workmanship and quality of finishes.
All builders were using the same cheap windows, but none could name the brand. Same with cabinets.
There’s so much truth to that! Just being aware and knowing what to look for.
Tradition uses tply on their lower end homes. Zip is used on the $1m plus homes
Interesting! That’s good to know. Where did you obtain this information from?
I own one. Drive by the homes they are building.
This is not accurate when it comes to the Warranty. Not sure where you obtained this information.
Hi Earl, it is directly off the contract they sent us. The contract is recent - within the past month.
@@WendyPannell My contract looks totally different from the one you presented.
@@earlwhitaker2269 If you are already under contract I would be sure to save it where you'll always have it. It has not been long that the state of Texas allowed a six year structural warranty. A builder's contract should be uniform for every buyer unless they have revised them and the sales consultant accidentally used an outdated one. The fact yours is more generous (if that is what you are saying) is notable and desirable.
You mentioned you weren't sure where I obtained my information. I always, always use source documents. When I do a contract review I always get the contract straight from the builder or a builder representative. If it's a website source I always quote it.
