Thanks Wendy. So what I gather is if the builder does use T-Ply you want to verify they are also using additional foam attachments and/or additional bracing, and if not then are they using a t-ply that is greater than 1/8 inch thick. Which if recall correctly from your other video is the blue or red version. The green version being the 1/8 inch. Thank you!
That is exactly right! The bracing is so, so important.
6:27 shortages happened in 2020 but not now.
That’s completely true! Builders haven’t switched back when they easily could.
What about CB Jeni? Do they build quality homes?
They use the thicker zip system as opposed to thermoply! Here in Dallas their google ratings range from 3.0 to 5.0 and they had plenty of 5.0s.
Did some research on this and found out that thermoply actually does outperform OSB when installed properly and comes with a 30 year warranty. This is also the preferred sheathing material for DOE certified energy efficient homes due to its higher R value per sq ft. Will love to hear your opinion on this.
The research takes you everywhere! I probably spent 12+ hours researching for this video. Some research (like what you’re saying) reports it as the better product. Every custom home builder and buyer was against it though. And by against it they were really, really against it.
