I appreciate what you said how we can have time to reflect and think on what we learned from reading. This is so crucial to allow the information and message to really sink in and for understanding and remembering

CSB. That's primarily because scientifically-mathematically speaking the CSB is the best balance between "literalness" (formal equivalence) and "readability" (functional equivalence) according to Dr. Andi Wu at the Global Bible Initiative who ran a quantitative linguistic analysis and comparative study of most the major Bible translations in English. In short the CSB best balances "literal" and "readable". Of course, there are many other good translations you could read, we're truly blessed with an abundance of good translations in English, but again my vote is for the CSB. 😊

NIV, CSB, ESV, or if you just want to get a basic understanding: NLT or the Message. The last two are less “accurate” but are easy to read. Please don’t start with KJV or NKJV if you are a beginner!

intentionally setting out to read the Bible only 5 minutes to me is saying, God I really don't value your word. At all. People watch hours of TV every day

Reading the Bible is one thing, but understanding what you read is something else.. Example: In the Book of Daniel, spoken to is the archangel Gabriel "being caused to fly", Daniel 9:21 “Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation.” My friends "fly" in that verse, in context, means to grow weary, to be faint, not flying like an eagle, and this verse was one of a few that put wings on angels, but folks angels don't have wings and they cannot fly, and nowhere in the Bible does it say they have wings or that they can fly, as the catholic church put wings on angels and made them to "fly", not God, for as we just learned, fly in this verse means to grown weary, as well, "the evening oblation" is a meat sacrifice at sunset.. The Strong's Concordance is a great help for those seeking ta Biblia's meanings via definition.. I hope this helps..

Why do people keep reading the bible?
I read it once and understood it the first time.
The message is GRACE in Christ.
    Now? Stop reading.
    Go out and live.

I’ve read the whole Bible but have definitely been blessed by digging deeper into the scriptures but yeah if we miss the central message, it’s pointless. ♥️ I think doing things because you feel under duress is also a misunderstanding. God isn’t really like that.

There is no LIFE in the bible.
LIFE comes from surrender to The Christ.
IN SPIRIT - not words - and not books.
