Hanmer 4 & 8 Hour Mountain Bike Race 2012

Footage of my 1st lap doing the 4 hour solo. 4hr riders start 10 minutes after 8hr riders. Solo riders also have race numbers on their backs so you can tell them apart from team riders. 1st lap slightly different starting on McIntyre Rd to spread riders out before the single track sections. A great event to enter whether solo or as a team. Not technical so suits all abilities

It's a race ozzy with a course to follow. I wouldn't call it smooth nor technical so ideal for all levels whether done solo or in a team. I'd rather break than crash, still manged 2nd place in my age cat. 2sec behind the winner so I couldn't have been braking too much then :)

first, I don't know how anyone can seriously question one's technique watching an edited youtube clip, unless its something glaringly obvious, because video is very deceptive and only gives a limited view of whats really happening. Finally, this looks fun, racing that is. However, the part that turns me off would be the guy who takes it way too seriously and gets pissed at you for not seeing him behind you and blames you for not being clairvoyant and seeing he needs to pass or something.

You could have saved some energy by not overtaking the fast guys, but rather stay on their wheel. Cool track though, good job:)

Good ride but you keep braking too much and always ride on the same smooth path as the other riders
