Awesome. 53 and 3rd place. Im doin that. This is a carbon frame bike ? I'm thinking about doing a part swap to my Steel frame MTB. Recommendations ?
Yes carbon hardtail frame from China, LTK023. Although I cracked the frame last week slamming into a log. It's done a lot of k's 16,000+ km over 27 months. I've been really pleased with the frame, comfortable on my longer rides. 3rd place last Oct in 12hr solo race in 35yrs+ age group. I'm ordering another Chinese frame, a IP-057 slightly different geo than this one as it was my 1st mtb and like to try something different. IP-057 will have slacker head tube and seat tube angle, 10mm shorter seat stay and slightly longer top tube so may not climb as well as the LTK023 and will be interesting how well it compares on tight switchbacks. Should handle downhill better with the slacker steerer angle hopefully more stable on my long gravel grind rides.......... just need to play around with the fit and change my riding style to suit. The LTK023 climbs really well, a recent Strava elevation challenge climbed 15,800m in nine days coming 1st here in NZ and 16th out of 16,000+ paticipants worldwide, only 63m was on paved, rest was on gravel and dirt. Loved climbing on that bike just hope the IP057 isn't too different in climbing.
