  • I get asked quite a lot what the best simrigs and cockpits are out there to buy so this year again, I made a video explaining what I think is the best hardware out there for your specific needs. I included 4 different categories and suggest a best bang for buck and overall best option out of all the hardware I have tested.

    00:02:45 Foldable cockpits

    Shocked this channel hasn't grown more since last time I watched it. I never subscribe to small pages but I liked this one from the start. Just a suggestion - please overlay the name and price of each item you review, maybe just in euro and dollars as I assume your target audience is from there. Cut to pictures a bit more often too :)

      The reason are my boring thumbnails and annoyingly undescriptive titles. And probably some other things I have no clue about. But it doesnt matter. In the end, what matters is that I obtain my main objective and that is to help people out and the reactions here suggest I am doing a good job. Unfortunately this video is a wrap so will not make any changes to it but you are absolutely right about the prices. It would be handy I highlight them more. As for pictures... bof... in my general reviews there is quite a lot of video- and picture material I think? Thanks for sticking around. It is really appreciated.

      @@SimulatedDrivingResource Thanks for taking my suggestion man! I'll stick around to make sure it happens haha, keep up the good work. There's enough pictures in the videos in general, just this one I wanted to see a bit more and thought others might relate that's all.
      *Edit* I think a good video idea would be to make a review of the best, most suitable motion sim rigs. I am really looking to get one but I don't know which one would be best for sim racing. My father has a DOF H3 and uses it for his flight sim but I think simracers use one of those "4 legged" ones no? Not sure how to describe other than an aluminum profile rig on active suspension hahah. Then there's also the prices.... which are a bit obnoxious. Really looking into DIY-ing one but I find no material for that either haha.

      Yeah but I also did not want to disclose too much (tmi). If people are interested in a set of hardware, they can check out the review for a 360° image of it. But you are correct because this is the second time I got this remark. I will see for the next video but I like it the way it is to be honest. Saves me a bit of work too.
      Haha... No... for 3 reasons. 1)i dont have that type of budget 2)i dont have the space 3)my inner-ear can not stomach it 🤢 Never say never but 😎

      @@SimulatedDrivingResource haha fair enough! Do as you like with the editing my friend, it’s your channel after all :) I just had a suggestion because I’d like to see you grow - the potential is there in my opinion.
      Understandable about the motion sims. It’s also out of budget and that’s why I’m so interested in DIY-ing it haha

      i got the playseat trophy and tempted to return it, i don't know if it is my height (6'2'') but no matter how i mess with it my lower back is sore , or my hips are sore, i cant race comfortable, the lumbar support just makes my lower back sore, or its to tight around my hips , it feels like it needs to be wider for me (i am a scrawny dude so its odd)

    Just got the wheel base supports for the omega art. Stiffens it up but still has some movement with the r5. Might be upgrading to a 40/80 soon.

    • @SimulatedDrivingResource
      @SimulatedDrivingResource  Před měsícem +1

      You just bought it back (well some time already now) 🤭. Those profile rigs are the summum of stability that is true. I wonder if there are any good US companies that make them. I thought ASR was from US but they are Canadian it seems. Should you do any research, keep me in the loop

    • @PJDobbs

      Base of the rid is pretty unstable with the moza r5 with one hand on the wheel. Oscillates pretty crazy. Even with the extra supports, still gets a good shake going.

    Nice video! Do you know Treq sim? I wonder what score you would give them compared to their competition

    • @SimulatedDrivingResource
      @SimulatedDrivingResource  Před měsícem +1

      I absolutely know Treq. Unfortunately it is not such a common brand on my regional second hand market. From what I can see, the Treq one black which is the closest to the rest of the rigs I tested has a lot going for it. The pedal base and addition of some style elements jump out. I am however on the fence about the attachment of both vertical beams and wheelbase holder. This I can not comment about without testing but it certainly looks very good.

      @@SimulatedDrivingResource ik ga even verder in het nederlands, dat de wheel base recht op het frame staat is ook hetgene waar ik me meestal zorgen bij maak, ik ben al enige tijd aan het kijken welke ik zou aanschaffen maar aangezien er zoveel concurrentie is van elkaar is dit echt een heel moeilijke keuze..

    • @SimulatedDrivingResource
      @SimulatedDrivingResource  Před měsícem +1

      @@Nilex2140 Laatste rig die ik heb getest met zo een opstelling, de Trak Racer TR80 Lite, die vond ik 'minder' qua stabiliteit. Ik zou toch gaan voor een systeem waar je ten minste 4 maar liefst zelfs 6 attachment points hebt voor je verticale profielen. Helemaal ideaal zou zijn als de profielen naast de horizontale profielen lopen ipv. erop. Bij de Treq zit de wheelbase houder ook op zo een tray dat dan nog eens vastzit aan een profiel dat verticaal staat. Dat mechanisme zat in de SimXpro X80 die ik heb getest en ik was er niet zo tevreden over. Bij de Simlab GT1 Evo daarentegen voelde het wel iets stabieler aan. De ideale methode hier zou een zware plaat zijn tussen de verticale profielen met daarop de wheelbase gemonteerd. Dat geeft het minste flex, of een horizontaal geplaatst profiel met dan EROP een wheelbase houder (ik denk dat dit principe in de GT Omega Prime Lite zat). Ik begrijp dat het moeilijk kiezen is. Alle rigs hebben wel één of meerdere dingen van wat ik zeg mèh. Maar zoals gezegd, de Treq, die heb ik niet getest, enkel gelijkaardige mechanismes dus ik kan me er echt niet volledig over uitspreken enkel maar de vergelijking maken naar andere rigs die dezelfde mechanismes gebruiken.
