I think the vortec max was a more horsepower 6.0 engine then what mine is. This has a supercharger that was never installed on any trucks from the factory.
Tyler Brown I did my research the pistons are flat on a lq4 but other than that they are identical. But when it comes to building them from ground up it’s the same thing.
You wouldn’t happen to know if they tuned this or not do you. Cause a lot of these set ups back in the day weren’t they ran off a fmu and uploaded fuel pump
Think im hitting 9/10 in city and 9 pulling a car trailer with a car on the highway. Will be getting rid of the 285 tires for something smaller which should help too
@@kingofthanorth Haven't even looked into how much boost it's making yet, mainly just use the truck for towing my car trailer but it has plenty of power to do that for sure

Never had any issues with it only had it a year though now I have a Duramax, pulled a car trailer all the time with it

What RPM does the boost start to pick up? I have a 2500HD as well. Many say to go with a whipple or maggie because our trucks are heavy.
I would go with a whipple too this just came on the truck when I bought it. Think it was around 2500-3k I actually just sold the truck last week

You don’t have it intercooled? Just straight intake? Where did you buy your kit?
Most of these style of superchargers dont come intercooled, it was on the truck when I bought it you cant buy these blowers new anymore

This is an LQ4, Vortec Max is an LQ9, comes with higher compression ratio and a little extra power.
