- Majority of KR AT Machinist plays Full Crit Salvation build. While there are other builds that are equally viable, recent document came up made by Western community guidemaker. In this document, the person tells everyone to gatekeep this particular build due to a very small difference in damage while missing certain scenarios. In this video, Kanima reacts to the document entailing how people should gatekeep Full Crit Salvation AT Machinist.

Everything is comparable. think about this one: some guy overthink about best possible dmg set combination and get it, but then misses 5 times top dmg button during the fight. meanwhile same geared guy with 0,6% less dmg set has better uptime and miss less. who wins? just learn to fight guys, think of opporunities to do bonus dmg while others afk. Abuse your class and t2 immunes, trade hp for dmg when its possible. thats real gameplay, not that 0,6% dogshit math tables pissing me off.
Can Full Crit Salv not go the crit rate elixir? 7% shouldn’t over cap on crit right? Or is it 100% worse than going the 12% crit dmg elixir?
the 7% crit rate set also gives 8.5% additional dmg which is kinda bad with salv, this set is also stack based like adren
the fully stacked crit rate set is about as good as the 12% cdmg set without any additional crit rate, but slightly worse with

Man seeing this really makes me happy that i just dislike the AT playstyle and never switched from Ironman. This is good for metachasers i guess but calling a >GATEKEEP< on such a small difference is insane to me. It's like saying "gatekeep everyone that is lower on the tierlist than your class" which would be almost everyone currently so yeah.. Calling the doc "Hallu is better than Salv and why you should build for it" would've been a way better title. It's just something about the word "gatekeeping" that's obviously very triggering for people and someone working on community-stuff for ages should know that, Jonah.
Well the truth is that this guy is right. He is also, contemplating bracelets because he's using 1800crit (and there's not way to reach that without bracelets), so unless you are going to roll purple precise on all your AT then hallu is stronger.
I don't get what is so hard to understand to be honest, the math is there. Plus, if we talk about synergy, if you add a glaivier into the mix then hallu becomes much much stronger
If you don't understand then you're basically too much of a nerd and not being a human being. What on earth compels anyone to think it appropriate to publish in a "community guide" of all things, a resource inexperienced players rely on for normal content; an entire section dedicated to why you should gatekeep someone who is marginally weaker than you? It's one thing to just give the math about whats stronger or whatever, it's another to imply a certain build has no viability in your runs. The truth is that the build is almost always weaker, it does not substantiate an argument for why you should gatekeep anyone.

I wouldn't call 5% "marginally" weaker either, the difference is substantial especially if you're taking into account newbies that don't play in organized enviroments.
Plus, it's not like they're saying "go farm 500h more to get this item to be 5% stronger", it's just a tap on your mouse button for instant buff, It's completely stupid to keep saying that salvation is a build when there's a better build at the palm of your hand. It's like saying go play salvation sorc when nightmare and hallu exist
No it isnt people who lean on the community guide do so as a reference because they likely have no basis for whats good or need guidance. It's a bad look for a general guide/reference to contain something like this. The type of people you are talking about aren't your average raider. Having up to date information or more insightful peices isn't a bad thing either, but no guide should endorse full on gatekeeping especially if there isn't something egregiously wrong going on. It's almost as if we're treating this as someone intentionally taking Explosive Expert instead of grudge.
The average raider doesnt do himself any favors going out of his way to gatekeep a marginally worse build, if the applicant for example is well geared and they likely won't. 5% isn't relevant in most cases where a majority of players lack damage for many other reasons.
At best some idiot is going to reference the math and think every AT Salv Scouter he gatekeept was the right decision because some math he doesnt really understand said TL:DR- It's .4-5% worse. He will be insufferable to everyone he raids with and will say dumb shit like "this entire party is bad" when said players do well or outperform him. At worst you spread a massive misinformation campaign that going that build is substantially weaker and is greifing, maligning people who just made a preferential choice. Maybe they like Salvation for the effects it brings, maybe they feel comfortable with that build.

I don’t know if the maths is wrong or if the guy never tested these builds in Trixion. I can never make Hallu build do more damage in Trixion after a month of testing.
You have to equip deep dive card set to simulate yearning iirc otherwise you won't get the right numbers.
You can just simulate yearning by putting Spirit Absorption
Salvation with 2 crit syn is stronger compare to hallu. Hallu is stronger with flat dmg synergies
"It's not the game, it's you". When a game has mechanics that makes you restart the content if someone makes a small mistakes, sorry but it's not the people, it's the game. Gatekeep is a consequence of the game making people not wanting to waste their time with newbies that don't know the mechs. It's like trying to get an entry level job that asks you to have 10+ years of experience, how the fck are you gonna that experience if they don't give you the opportunity in the first place?
So yah, it's the game, not the people.
This is sad. To make a community guide promoting gatekeeping is pathetic really. I play full crit salv and will continue to do so, and continue to out damage higher ilvl people. Uptime is king, not anything that stupid guide says.
