I still don’t understand Tesla’s model of “we need to move this inventory. Let’s raise prices by $1000.”
They are driving demand. The market knows it’s cheaper now than in the future, so there is more incentive to buy it now than in the future. But prices are always fluctuating.
It's based on the quarter. They want to move inventory in Q1 which ends March 31st, therefore, price increases April 1st.

I would say that they are trying to avoid spreading the idea that refreshed Model Y is close, to avoid everyone waiting for it and skipping the actual inventory/production. They are also talking about Juniper been postponed… IMO it’s all related

What are your thoughts on the Model S and X as far as waiting or buying? Any idea when these other refreshes and upgrades will officially be out? i.e front camera, RGB lights, etc

My 2023 Model 3 updated yesterday with the Auto Parking feature and it's really really cool. Tried it out late last night and it worked really well. I need to test it out more though.
That digital license plate doesn't stand out to me and I live in Phoenix. Sometimes simple is better. I will stick with a plain old license plate
Plus there aren't legal in all States yet. And just too expensive.
Thanks for the good info. I have been waiting for the Model 3 Performance. I want it to perform as expected and advertised. Auto park, full summon and FSD. I have a long range 2020 Model 3 on lease for 4 years. But why should anyone pay. $12000.00 for FSD that hasn’t worked, as advertised, for 4 years, is “Pie in the Sky”.

On the model 3, after speaking to some Tesla employees they stated that there may be a chance that the model 3 may be eligible for the federal rebate sometime later this year if they start using the batties made in Nevada. I will be waiting for the model 3 to qualify for a rebate before buying,
not all superchargers work with Rivian or Ford.
How do you install the RPlate?

@@RobertRosenfeld1 So it can be stolen just as easy as your plate can.
@@Resist4 No. If somehow it was removed, the plate knows this and will display a message that it was removed from the vehicle. You as the owner also get notified and get mark it as Stolen, altering everyone who sees it that it is stolen.
@@RobertRosenfeld1 So I was correct, it can be stolen just as easily as plate can. It won't matter that you get a notification because it will be gone by the time you get to your car and then you have to buy another one. And, you will also have to pay for a new plate number at the DMV. So the only thing this $600 device solves is that you get your registration "sticker" right away to the digital plate and you can do some customizing to the plate. It's still too expensive and doesn't protect against theft, in fact it will be more prone to theft because of it's price point.
I understand your point about waiting for the new model Y.. But if I can get a Model Y performance for 40k with all incentives I highly doubt the performance of the new one will be in the same ball park i am thinking it will be 20 to 30k more.. If your thinking this based on no concern about cost I would agree but I do think costs will be much higher then what we see today.
I doubt it. The M3 just was refreshed with no price increase. The MY would be the same as they make more of them
@@chidorirasenganz If I can get the refreshed MYP for 41k that included taxes and fees and transfer over FSD then I will take the hit and buy that one in a heartbeat.. I dont believe a MYP will not cost me at least 20k more then what I am paying now..

Agree. Very tempted, but have to wait for the refreshed Y. Just finished an overnight 2024 Y demo. Great car and fantastic markdowns on inventory units, BUT Tesla is offering peanuts for my year old 2023 model 3 and I'd be facing partially paying back my state's
rebate. Oh well, I'll just have to wait and see.
I agree with your take on the Y. If you need a car today, lease it for 24 months and just upgrade to Juniper 12 months after it launches. Or use one of the many incentives Tesla throws out to try and get people to turn In their vehicle early.
$600 for the digital license plate....huge PASS! At $200 it's a maybe. Don't get me wrong I think the tech is cool, just too expensive. And while it's great that it lets you know if some tampers with it, I'd still be out $600 if they stole it.
Don't wait to buy, because later it will cost more. Never listen to a CZcamsr that gets free stuff to advertise, so he's got the extra money to buy a new car later. Always buy then the cars are less expensive and don't worry about hardware improvements to newer models or you will always be chasing the next newer thing.
Can you purchase your car then at a later date purchase the self driving in full??
Yes, you can outright buy it or subscribe any time. No need to do it at purchase
Yes, you can buy the car without FSD and then whenever you want to buy the FSD you can susbscribe for it and pay 200 a month or buy it outright for 12,000 but u may not get the fsd immediatly sometimes u need to wait for another software update which happened in our case!

I’m just glad they’re getting that self parking and smart summons and I’ll let figure it out. It’s been way too long for those people that paid for that. I’m still waiting for a better deal on the FSD package.

Greetings from Germany. I will need a new company car at the beginning of July. My plan is to take a model y long range. A juniper with a CATL M3P battery would be perfect. If they at least bring us HW4 in Grünheide I would be happy with a midnight cherry MY LR...

Buyers are hesitating to buy because they keep thinking that tesla will cut prices but tesla cant trim prices anymore on model Y. Price increase is a nice move by Tesla.
Yeah, I don't want to drive an 'old' design on the Y. I'll just wait.
Some people don't like EV cars, or FSD, they just prefer to drive.
Hopefully the new model Y significantly improves range and implements flat folding rear seats, all while setting the pre-federal tax credit price of 40K, this would be a good deal for me :)

You really think it will be better to wait for Y? Right now they are giving 9k off plus 7,500 tax credit. I doubt you will get 16,500 off anytime soon

None of the improvements that were made to the model 3 is worth waiting for the new model y.
For me, the only thing i like about the model 3 is the headlights and tail lights.
Plus, the $7500 federal tax credit doesn't apply to the refreshed model 3. So it probably won't apply to the refreshed model y.
At the end of the day, it's all about the hardware. I haven't heard anything about HW5 as im sure it's already in the works.

🎁 I bought a 23 MYP IN October thinking the new one wouldn’t be out until early 25’ and performance version probably 6 months later. The demand will also be crazy so prices probably won’t be great until a year after their release. So I got a great deal (even better deals now) and I’ll enjoy this one for a few years and upgrade once the rush has subsided. So if you’re needing/wanting a car now go get it. If you have a year or more to wait….wait. But it’s not going to be anytime soon. Just remember once it’s released you’ll probably have another 3-4 month wait to get it delivered. I have zero regrets. The the current Y even though the new one will eventually be better.

Honestly, a bit of both. I’ve had a lot of personal stuff going on behind the scenes and there were a few weeks that content severely dried up….it will be returning soon (planning for April). I appreciate you asking and keeping me accountable

Oregon is offering a $ 7,500.00 credit between April and June, on top of the Federal tax credit. This makes a Model Y Very Tempting ! Your Thoughts ?

7500.00 is Tax credit, it is deducted right at the time of delivery. What are you talking about 7500.00 discount and on the top of tax credit. I believe those 7500.00 is Tax credit from fed Tax. It can only be used one tome when you got your tesla delivery. What is additional 7500.00 Tax credit you are talking about.
