  • Shows the most recently completed waterfall. I discuss some of the changes implemented in this version as well as some targets for improvements in the next attempt. This waterfall is scaled to be used with any 28-32 mm games such as Warhammer, Warmachine, D&D, and Lord of the Rings.

    Best waterfall I've seen so far. A reminder though, at the bottom of the actual fall, the water grinds out the bottom right under it, often in the result in a small pond. You have painted the sides light like a normal river, and it doesnt look natural. Fantastic work though

    • @Terranscapes
      @Terranscapes  Před 10 lety

      A good point. I did this quite a while ago, and I would take some different approaches to it now. The bottom of the falls would definitely be a target. :)

  • @hengestgoldfist2340
    @hengestgoldfist2340 Před 10 lety

    very impressive, one small addition may help, small matching rocks jutting mid-fall would break up the solid grey expanse of water, at the moment you have a large block of grey rock, blue water and grey fall, the three parts could be more mixed together rather than stark differences between the three

    • @Terranscapes
      @Terranscapes  Před 10 lety

      Thank you for those thoughts. I actually tried to incorporate those ideas in a subsequent waterfall. It really added a lot to the look. Somewhere in the back catalog of videos you should be able to find it. :)

    • @hengestgoldfist2340
      @hengestgoldfist2340 Před 10 lety

      shape of rock is great as is it's drybrushing, and love the colour of the still water, what do you favour with the different resins available?

      I'm using a variety of materials, but for the base I use envirotex lite/Klear Kote. For texture I like Golden Heavy Gloss Gel.

    Looks amazing. I was thinking that you might consider pulling the cotton down instead of up for the falling mist. As you say the water breaks up as it falls. The current version looks a little like the mist is coalescing as it falls. Amazing work though.

      @Terranscapes  Před 10 lety

    i love your videos. i wish i could afford some of your pieces. they look absolutely amazing.
    also, i was listening to the newest Garagehammer podcast last night and they played a voice mail they got. it sounded alot like your voice. it was about how to improve painting on models without stripping them and redoing the whole thing. just go over areas you are unsatisfied with or add a wash or some drybrush. great advice.

    your work is truly amazing!
    it looks so very realistic and when photographed, I can see it being mistaken for the real thing!
    just curious, I've never seen this type of rock done before.
    the actual shape of these aren't covered in any tutorials I've looked for.
    could you share how you did these particular rocks?
    it looks like you may have used strategic placement of acetone on a liner paint brush. 😄

      Oh dear... I've gotten this question a few times and I've never shot a video of the technique. I did however describe the process in a Q&A - see my playlists. Each video has time stamps for all the questions and you should be able to find it sort-of-quickly. :)

    • @gsgidney

      It was this particular rock style I was inquiring about.
      I saw the other Q&A's, and the various styles and tools...
      But it's this style that really caught me eye 😊
