    Justin, for me, tags are many-to-many relationships. One note can have many tags, and one tag - many notes.

      Fair point Jacek -- I think the point I was trying to make is links are a bit more flexible than tags in my opinion. Sorry if that was confusing

    To me everything boils down to the individual permanent notes and notes which link notes together aka map of contents, structure notes, etc.

    Coming back to your channel to re view your video on organizing notes to find a new one on that posted 3 hours ago, yay

    Thanks for such a helpful video!
    I have recently been considering a move to Obsidian as a way to create a knowledge management system and this video really helped me to just get started :)
    I am a heavy Notion user and love working in it but I'm finding the rigid structure doesn't really facilitate "smart notes or Zettelkasten notes". This means I end up spending more time putting the structure in place rather than working on thinking and writing. Hopefully Obsidian will help me around this.
    Looking forward to more great videos!

    I'm here again, haha.
    The channel already has a video where you explain how you do the tours through the linked notes and how they contextualize each other, and how do you perform the review while you move through each note?

    • @EffectiveCo
      @EffectiveCo  Před 3 lety

      It's a very arbitrary process for me. When I'm working on the notes, I just kinda go with whatever is connecting at the moment. No solid process, but if I notice something is connected, I make a link. Or if I notice something needs to be further developed or made atomic, I do so then. It's all about discovery and refinement versus a distinct process.

    Hey! Great video, was wondering how you make toggles in obsidian?

    • @EffectiveCo
      @EffectiveCo  Před 3 lety

      You can fold text by turning on the Fold Headings and Fold Indentations in the editor settings. Hope that helps!

    It shows that you have acquired a lot of knowledge over the years. Could you recommend some books on productivity and knowledge management?
    By the way, your channel is extremely useful to me.

      I'm so glad! I'll plan to do a video or some kind of resource on recommended books.

    I love the idea of all this and I'm going to figure it out sooner or later but it just so happens that at the same time I've discovered Obsidian and this Note Linking strategy I've also started two different courses structured in sessions. Because these are compartmentalized, structured courses it feels like they should be in folders from the beginning. Each session has an outline, my session notes, and often a PDF and/or video resource.
    In a situation like this, does it make sense to use, for isntance, a course folder and then sessions folders under that? Is there a better way? Thanks!

    • @EffectiveCo
      @EffectiveCo  Před 3 lety +1

      You could do folders for courses, or you could create a root note and link each session as a separate note from the main note on that course.

    I agree with you that Nick's content is great, but yours is no less.
    Do you know if there is any way in Obsidian to select multiple notes and create a MOC with them?

    • @EffectiveCo
      @EffectiveCo  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks so much for the kind words.
      You're basically asking if you can create a table of contents in a sense from multiple notes? I don't think there is at this time, but I could be missing something. Would be a great feature request in the forums though

    • @QuijoteLibre
      @QuijoteLibre Před 3 lety

      @@EffectiveCo Indeed, that is exactly what I wanted to say.
      Excuse my googlenglish
      The truth is that I have not started with the forums yet, I have a lot of work and a lot to learn with your course, videos and those of Nick Milo
      Obsiidan still gives me a lot of respect and I don't want to create a crazy note vault

      @@EffectiveCo It's possible. this I have been told in the forum forum.obsidian.md/t/create-a-moc-form-several-selected-notes/10654/2?u=a_simon

    Hello kind people! Who can explain me how to toggle the list or headings (collapse)?

    • @EffectiveCo
      @EffectiveCo  Před 3 lety +1

      You can turn this on under Settings. It's called Fold on headings I believe.
