I need to get a new PC and start playing again I miss end gave deity where I actually had to have all out wars and use nukes against the AI.
@@chheinrich8486 The ones installed in A-10 jets is the M61 Vulcan, which is much more larger. The ones installed in Cobras are M195, which is a variant of the M61 and much smaller.

For those who never watched GATE, this anime plot is basically a gate to the fantasy middle ages world spawned on Tokyo, monster and soldiers that came from the gate killing civilians and causing a massacre, Japan is pissed and send their army inside and killed 400.000 enemies inside the gate, in this scene a strategically important town is under siege by bandits, and there's a Japanese troops inside the town, so they sent helicopters to saves those troops and the town Also for a bonus, the Japanese have successfully make an ally with a Demigod in this scene thanks to the MC's rizz, and they annexed the town after the "battle" ended
i still think Rory made the best speech about the military in history when the senator is trying to make out the JSDF abandoned the villagers to the dragon resulting in many deaths. That speech sent chills down my spine.

I actually wish to see some Roman military geniuses to face em JSDF. Like how General Feng of Qing army able to beat more technology advance French Army
the surviving general of the battle actually did try to use smart tactics by sneaking up at night. only problem is when your enemy has night vision systems and launchable flares to light up the battlefield. That General was a real leader as he ordered his men to retreat when he realised the carnage they were walking into and grabbed a bow to get at least one arrow fired off at the enemy even though he knew it would probably result in his death. He survived though and though only a minor character he has a profound influence on the story line in several occasions. I for one have the utmost respect for him as a character. He is one of the most grounded characters in the show. no op abilities, not a goofball or an idiot. Just a man doing his duty and an elder who 's advice is respected.

This show really hit a Niche thing for me, I loved the way it presented military and how it interacts with this new world. Felt realistic and not like some overly dramatic anime...and then it became a harem anime

@@ScottKenny1978 personally i think they just mixed in lazy with unmotivated. Either way institutions like the military have a way of forcing people to become hardworking when necessary. If you've ever seen Full Metal Jacket you can see how they turned them from young carefree guys into killers.
I mean, I've seen real pictures of a Piper Apache who's belly was full of arrows after flying too close to North Sentinel Island, so its quite possible to hit an aircraft with a bow.

I LOVE this series, "GATE". I have always hoped that there would be a third season. But, in the long run, I'm happy to have what we have. Watching the JSDF soldiers reload, yeah. The sound of the mini gun, and the Cobra choppers, its all good.
Anything from 1865 onward would be able to curb stomp any medieval entity. Pre-1865, not so much. China went from the recurve bow directly to the Type-88 bolt action rifle. They did not even mess around much with muzzleloaders since the recurve bow outshot all muzzleloading guns.

They were short, compact, even concealable, and packed a powerful punch. Later ones made of spring steel and bronze were virtually weatherproof. Frontier guards and mounted rangers in the western Chinese frontier used bows alongside their pistols and sabers well into the 1940s.
The last like 20 chapters of the manga have had nothing to do with Itami and crew, it's just been politics and back and forth guerilla warfare between the JSDF and the Imperial remnants

the fun fact is that US president in that anime in one of the episodes (after they discovered natural resources, including oil in the gate land) said that he wished that this gate opened in the US instead of Japan
I don't think many of you get the reference by using Ride of the Valkyries. It was a very badass scene in Apocalypse Now, a war movie about the Vietnam War based on a book called Heart of Darkness.

I always wondered why there was never a "Modern tech vs medieval and magic" type show and I happened upon gate just a few years ago and fell in love immediately. I think Apocalypse Now is such a timeless classic it goes beyond borders, maybe outside of the western world it is less known as well as outside of the younger generation but I'm 25 and I watched it when I was 16. I am admittedly quite a film guy though and one with a lot of free time at that.
I get the reference. This references Forrest Gump instead - which, given that Apocalypse Now has *wildly* different theming from GATE, is possibly a better fit.
It's a nice change of pace to see Modern Military win for once, usually some Katana wielding Teenagers will erase an Abrams Tank with the flick of his wrist, or deflect Sabot Rounds like they are Blasters from Star Wars.
Yeah too many times it just under minds how stupidly unfair a real fight between modern tech vs anything 70 years or older The Avatar movies are very guilty of this. Avatar 2 has a sene where futuristic medicinal tech was useless but a shaman was more than enough
@@rmjtajpdjwj And also so that if JSDF loses at any point, the enemy can only get their hands on older technology compared to newer guns and stuff. Although, in the battle to save the princess and the king, there are scenes where Japan's special forces used M4s instead of the typical Type 89.
@@rmjtajpdjwj I don't know. Last time I read the manga, Japan is currently just investigating the resources on the Alnus world. But, I think the moment oil is discovered in that region, there may be a certain country who will want to get their greedy, filthy hands on all of the resources.
I want more shows that has modern military fighting some magic empire in an alternate earth, but instead of one sided it’s both sides being able to fight each other with powers that would be considered ridiculous by the other faction.
Well you're in luck, I'm writing/creating a series just like this and it's based on the current events happening around us. Still working on how should I approach it lol but, when I'm done I'll share it to anyone who's interested in it.
This show would have been so much better if it had better animation and bigger budget. Just imagine what popularity this show would have gained if it was animated like Berserk , Drifters or even like Castlevania , no cut content from manga/novel to speed up the story or dumb it down , and be more bloody and brutal.
the animation is pretty good imo, I just wish there was more gore to give it a touch of realism, as while the delivery is amazing the outcome is pretty... meh, as if you were really on the other end of a Vulcan burst I highly doubt there would be much left of you, let alone perfectly intact corpses with little to no blood or lost limbs lol
There is also the fact that even many of the fans have expressed that it would be greatly improved if the author had kept his Ultra-Nationalist Japan politics out of the story.
@@MrRavenBlackwing Personally, as an American, I didn't really mind the Nationalism, and certainly didn't see it as Ultra-Nationalistic. I do think the JSDF were made out to be the good guys a little too much, but the crap the other countries were pulling? Oh yeah I could certainly see them pulling that stuff big time. In a situation like this I'm certain that America, China AND Russia would be pulling every little dirty trick to get their fingers in the pie.

In the series they plan on how to kill a dragon, In the end they had to level and entire mountain to kill 2 newly hached dragons. They where also Forced hatched by an demigod so they wheren't fully dragons either. xD

I think they just came to watch bullets shred medieval soldiers out of pure spite towards most fantasy anime (and modern media in general) shrugging off the modern military to further the story.

@@ScottKenny1978 personally i think they just mixed in lazy with unmotivated. Either way institutions like the military have a way of forcing people to become hardworking when necessary. If you've ever seen Full Metal Jacket you can see how they turned them from young carefree guys into killers.

It's a small thing, but I appreciate that they animated that one dude with a bow and arrow mentioned in the novel that tried to shoot at a chopper.
I mean, I've seen real pictures of a Piper Apache who's belly was full of arrows after flying too close to North Sentinel Island, so its quite possible to hit an aircraft with a bow.

I LOVE this series, "GATE". I have always hoped that there would be a third season. But, in the long run, I'm happy to have what we have. Watching the JSDF soldiers reload, yeah. The sound of the mini gun, and the Cobra choppers, its all good.

I don't think many of you get the reference by using Ride of the Valkyries. It was a very badass scene in Apocalypse Now, a war movie about the Vietnam War based on a book called Heart of Darkness.

@@tunaSalsa Yeah, it was a great scene, I love gate with a passion. I always wondered why there was never a "Modern tech vs medieval and magic" type show and I happened upon gate just a few years ago and fell in love immediately.
I think Apocalypse Now is such a timeless classic it goes beyond borders, maybe outside of the western world it is less known as well as outside of the younger generation but I'm 25 and I watched it when I was 16. I am admittedly quite a film guy though and one with a lot of free time at that.
Unfortunately the Dub dropped half the references to Apocalypse Now that are in the Sub version.
I get the reference. This references Forrest Gump instead - which, given that Apocalypse Now has *wildly* different theming from GATE, is possibly a better fit.

Gate was such a great anime. Loved every minute.
I want more shows that has modern military fighting some magic empire in an alternate earth, but instead of one sided it’s both sides being able to fight each other with powers that would be considered ridiculous by the other faction.

This show would have been so much better if it had better animation and bigger budget. Just imagine what popularity this show would have gained if it was animated like Berserk , Drifters or even like Castlevania , no cut content from manga/novel to speed up the story or dumb it down , and be more bloody and brutal.
the animation is pretty good imo, I just wish there was more gore to give it a touch of realism, as while the delivery is amazing the outcome is pretty... meh, as if you were really on the other end of a Vulcan burst I highly doubt there would be much left of you, let alone perfectly intact corpses with little to no blood or lost limbs lol
There is also the fact that even many of the fans have expressed that it would be greatly improved if the author had kept his Ultra-Nationalist Japan politics out of the story.
@@MrRavenBlackwing Personally, as an American, I didn't really mind the Nationalism, and certainly didn't see it as Ultra-Nationalistic. I do think the JSDF were made out to be the good guys a little too much, but the crap the other countries were pulling? Oh yeah I could certainly see them pulling that stuff big time. In a situation like this I'm certain that America, China AND Russia would be pulling every little dirty trick to get their fingers in the pie.
