I agree with you i am playing it now it's handling physics are much better than any gran turismo.
I can't get any enjoyment, that cars are like driving on ice, they never stop drifting. I hated it after like 10 races.

Fun fact: sometimes the game gives you the option to drive the nurburgring in reverse. Thats right. its almost scary.

The best thing about those old japanese sim-cades are the normal street cars that most of us don't know because they were never exported and didn't make into any other racing game because they were just normal cars

8:58. Because that's how Fiat 500 race car was. Abarth fitted it with bigger engine. Then they discovered it doesn't fit properly and it's not possible to close the engine cover. Then they discovered that leaving engine cover open like that made the car faster too and improved cooling. So there we have it, an answer to question asked.

It helps that it has the mid 2000s Konami sound team, so it's slap bang in the middle of their best time with all their rhythm games like DDR and Beatmania so they have so many good musicians on board. Also, I just noticed the Driving Tests have PERFECT/GREAT/GOOD/BAD/MISS... that's literally how DDR works lmaooooo they went for it
Even though I'm a big fan of Gran Turismo, if I have to play GT4 and GT5, I would choose Enthusia. Well, GT4 is not that bad, but still...
Played this for the first time just weeks ago... Can't believe I had no idea about such a gem, but the silver lining is I played it eventually.
Absolutely brilliant game.
The game actually has big potential, but it's overshadowed by GT4
And the conflict of Konami and the Producer.

They kinda caused it with the insanely similar GUI, not that I dislike the GUI tho
enthusia looks more like a GT3 competitor because it shares a more similar handling model and UI, GT4's handling model was all grip no drift
@@builderwack4459 look at the showroom GUI, lap time GUI and end of race time GUI they're all extremely similar to GT4, GT4 was the latest gran turismo when this came out.
the driving in this is much better than in GT4. for one you can actually slide the rear in Enthusia, in GT4 you literally just spin the tires and go forward.
shame the rest of the game is kinda bland.
also, you can get a modern FFB wheel working in this and its pretty damn fun.
Нет, в gt4 физика хоть и упрощенная, но там хорошо реализованы недостаточная и избыточная поворачиваемость, различия между приводом и расположением мотора существенные. А в хваленой многими assetto corsa кстати у всех машин или недостаточная или нейтральная поворачиваемость. Не понимаю почему но там если и срывает заднюю ось, то только от пробуксовки. На входе в поворот или морда мимо едет или едет нормально, никогда нет сноса задней оси

Enthusia was more fun than GT4, fight me. Better physics and better sound design go a long way.
May have had that going for it but GT4 was better in every other way not to mention the car list.

Too bad Konami released it pretty late, especially since GT4 was dominating the market in 2005
Yeah, if they had waited for next gen hardware, might have done pretty well. Also, the opening cinematic of the game was originally supposed to be the prologue of a story mode that never made the final cut.

i was the Nissan geek who got this primarily for the Nismo S/R-Tune Variants for the R34 Skyline and S15 Silvia. neither officially appear in many games at all.

As a true GT fan I really tried Enthusia and got to half of game but damn... I just can't get used to the handling. I can only compare it to LFS
The handling is the closest to real life that I've felt outside of Assetto Corsa or Project Cars 2. It's that good.

i'm playing this lately and man this game is good af, the only complaint i got about it's the enthu points system that's kinda unfair sometimes, but in overall it holds up very weel against gt4, and imo this one does some things better than gt4 and believe me, i played a lot of gt4 to say this, really good game, really fun handling model and the soundtrack and track design are really good imo

@11:38 You need a good multiplier to rise through the ranks pretty fast. That means you cannot increase your ranking using good cars because they give you a low multiplier.
"Weird Skyline" - yes, is actual Skyline made after famous R35 - which became full supercar (I talk about full "GT-R").
In japan - they called Nissan Skyline, but in overseas (Other world countries) - they sell it under Infiniti sub-brand (Just like Acura=Honda) and under Q-series.
Recent (2021) Skyline (Infiniti Q) - is actually very cool car, even by design.
That model in question is no Q it's a G35 then G37 and now Q50/Q60
OOOOooohh Enthusia HOLY CRAP i used to play this game on the PS2 and thought it was the hardest thing i would ever play.
It had a cool feature where if you drive recklessly and get a bunch of penalties you would drop in rank and start going back to lower levels. Pretty neat but it was boring as hell.
Do Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift 2 next.

That fiat has the hatch open because it overheats, it has the engine in the back and no cooler on the front, so you have to open that thing to get air going through the radiator. Here en Argentina, we still have fiat 600 wich has that problem.

Enthusia is great. The only aspect that I didn't like much was the way that you won the cars. I would have played it SO much more if it was a common "win money from races/championships, buy the car you want".
And the lack of real tracks, or good tracks.
WOW I had this game for ps2 and I totally forgot it existed... I never understood it because was a pirate copy and was in full japanese so I remember I just played a few races, and as I was just a kid I never understood why this game was so hard

This game is fun to play but when you pick fast cars it has most slippery controls and can't straight the car so well the E class is the only cars I can drive so well

Oh god he’s gonna play get sport, that vid will be interesting, as being a proud owner of a Ferrari 340 I fucking hate the grind to 20 mil but the other cars that are at 1 mil or 750k are fine, the endurance events are actually pretty good and some are really challenging, I have not even touched the Red Bull endurance races cause fast ass cars mixed with extremely good handling mixed with a joystick equals fucking bad driving and mayhem
