Honestly, im just surprised that there even is a flatout 4. The fact that there even was budget and some demand after flatout 3 is kinda astonishing.

@@Cookiebreedchannel Actually - no. Big Ben was closed and went make their own game - WreckFest (Former "Next Car Game"). F4 - was made by Killaton Games (They make recent WRC game series).
Also, F3 - in reality, was just a Nintendo Wii Port re-release of First Fallout, but - on PC. Also - they make another game in recent years, Kuru - was covered her. It was somewhat called "Super Street Racing" or something like that.
@@user-ss6co6vj5f No no no noo, I have to correct you on this one: Big Ben sold the rights to Strategy First who hired some proper devs to work on FO4, those were Kylotonn(KT Racing) who now work on WRC games and also the next Test Drive - Unlimited 3 - Solar Crown. Devs of Wreckfest have nothing to do with this. The lads who made original FO1 and FO2 and FOUC, which was Bugbear Entertainment lost the rights to the franchise as the original publisher behind FO1/FO2/FOUC Empire Interactive go bankrupt so they went and made another arcade prototype without a title - Bandai Namco saw it and they made a deal with Bugbear to publish ther game and they named it the next Ridge Racer Unbounded. That didnt go too well because the name didn't fit the game at all and the Ridge Racer community was dissapointed, while the game itself was very great. Then they started working(something around 2012) on Next Car Game (renamed to Wreckfest in late 2014), which at some point made them almost go bankrupt but they got saved by THQ Nordic which helped them release the game in 2018, then after having trouble finishing and delaying the console version, THQ Nordic bought 90% of the Bugbear Entertainment and the game got a huge boost - DLCs, Season passes, lots of new cars added(more than 70+ in total), new tournament mode with monthly updates adding fresh stuff and fixing existing bugs, lately made a proper port for the PS5/Xbox X Series with improved graphics, new effects and recently made a crossover with Carmageddon (which is now owned by THQ Nordic) in a special tournament that lets you win one of the cars from Carmageddon.
I'm more disappointed that they titled it as Flatout 4 implying that Flatout 3 exist. They should make title without number
for me the problem with this game is: the cars are bricks with preset damage models that stills there to just say "hey we still have car damage, we still a FlatOut game"
Flatout 4 looks like what would happen if a competent and talented team realizes flatout 3's concept, which is in no way an insult

6:40 It reminds me of Project Cars where You play the same 8 tracks for 25 hours when there are over 100 of them in the game.
FlatOut 4 seems like a good game but Wreckfest has already filled that void for a demolition derby game imo
the two have very different styles of gameplay

and Wreckfest also made by same dev who make FlatOut 1 and 2, now if only Wreckfest tracks have same level of quality design as FlatOut 2.

I never got to play the full game but I remember eight year old me downloading the demo back then in the X360. It was pretty fun
First one is good, second one is junk.

This is comparing gameplay on YT from FA (360) to FA2B (PS3), so both on console.
@@ZerotheWanderer Personally from what I remember they played exactly the same. The only difference is the additional content on the PS3 version with the better story. They're both still absolutely fun and I'm sad the company who produced those games folded over. The game engine they had alone had amazing sense of speed for a racing game at the time. 150mph felt like 240+mph.
FlatOut 4 is 21 cents on PSN and I wanted to see how bad it must be. But I'm pleasantly surprised. Thanks for the video.

I was today years old when I found out that Ultimate Carnage is called differently in Poland. It's called "Apokalipsa" which means...well "Apocalypse". For at least 10 years I was sure these are two different games. Anyway, Flatout Insanity could be better if it was developed by the people who made Wreckfest (or the first two (plus UC) Flatouts)

On 6:19 you can see how big of an effort they put on character variation
I don't think it's a bad game, but it's just not a very good Flatout game in terms of certain details, like destruction which for the first and second games it was absolutely amazing given the time when they were released.
Still a nice looking and enjoyable game
Physics are just stupid cars has magnetic Thumbling Dolls effects which car has force to rolls back to normal when rolls over

Yes he’s playing Arctic edge, AE is such a fun game for being the first motorstorm game, at times it can be a good challenge and the tracks are quite innovative and I think most of them have reversed versions, I can’t wait to see this masterpiece that is this ps2 game.
It's not the first to one tho, that one is Motorstorm from 2007

Stop telling me that I've never played FlatOut 4! This 'Never Played' thing is getting out of hand! I DON'T WANNA PLAY THESE GAMES THAT I HAVE NEVER PLAYED BEFORE! If I don't wanna play them, I don't have to!
They've failed the physics model and game design is far from perfect but this game is ok. Not great, not terrible, just ok.

Wreckfest is actually what Flatout Insanity should be, I'm not saying FO4I is a hot pile of garbage, but it doesn't feel like a Flatout game

Imo, what FlatOut 4 actually really suffers from is
1> Lack of consistency and balancing in general, something really deviated from the original BugBear games.
2> Heavy reliance, at times to an unnecessary degree, of modern technology and hardware needs.
(I know this isn't gonna be an issue for everyone, but even a mid-end computer like mine, back when FO4 was released, struggled at some instances, due to what i can only believe is Under-optimization)
But... to make up for it
It actually does have a killer soundtrack again, and the physics model isn't jank, just different to get used to at first.
Cars have thumbling doll physics into it which car have force to get back when rolls.

Well if it isn't obvious, people like certain game franchises for what the games in that series deliver and they enjoy that. If you completely change up that formula of course people aren't going to like it because it isn't like the older games in that series they enjoyed. These developers need to improve and innovate on past games not completely change them.

FlstOut Ultimate Carnage for an enjoyable singleplayer, FlatOut 2 if you want online, both have online mode but FlatOut 2 is more active, theres an online mod on the steam page of flatout 2,

I played Flatout 3 and found it to be so bad that it's good. I've heard that Flatout 4 is just kinda eh. To be fair, Flatout 1 kinda sucks.
That's because flatout 1 was their first ever game, after that they were able to make the improvements to make the best game in the series flatout 2.
@@theenhancedmatrix3127 They made a rally game called Rally Trophy (which was actually pretty damn good) before Flatout. Flatout did feel occasionally like a tech demo though
