Made the perfect palappam today following your instructions. Used to do it all earlier...."kappi kachal" &all...but what made the difference is the details. Also, the final word of advice, not to disturb the the Lil yeast guys. I used to make a thick batter and poured water before making the appam. I understand now the right quantity of water while preparing the batter is crucial and pouring the batter without mixing....made a lot of difference. Your Mom is absolutely right. Thank you for sharing this🙏❣️

Excellent recipe. No hassle of extracting coconut milk. Tried it out. Appams came out with soft centres n crisp lace edges. I added 11/2 tbsp of fine rice flour to reduce gumminess . Not really necessary,it's just something i do with ground rice appams. On the whole,a keeper of a recipe.

Thank you so much Mahima chechi... I tried it and got a perfect appam I have ever made. Yeast makes my stomach upset, so I used the stored coconut water instead of normal water and skipped the yeast. It was super soft.
