- For this video I traveled from Prague to České Budějovice (Budweis) with Czech national operator České dráhy aboard "Rychlík Vltava" Fast Train. This video is also farewell with older Bautzen A149 and B249 coaches on this line.

Koukám, že jsi měl štěstí na Natálku 362 078 a docela historickou soupravu :) Tyhle vagony mají tu výhodu, že jdou otevírat okna :) Jinak tuhle trať mám na svém kanále z pohledu strojvedoucího např. jako R 722 :)
Díky moc! Za Natálku jsem byl moc rád, bylo to milé překvápko! Jinak ta souprava byl účel, chtěl jsem si ještě užít A149, než je nahradí Aee140. Já na této trati jezdím raději Vltavou, než EC/IC, protože nemám rád ARmpee829 :-D Jinak tvá videa z tratí mám nakoukaná, takže i toto už jsem samozřejmě viděl (už tě nějaký čas sleduju). Doufám že časem budou další :-)

Nice video, 8 passengers in a second class compartment? That would not go over very well with me. Also some nice scenery, fall colors and even a bit of snow. Thanks for the ride as always.

On older 1st class cars like this one where they have a great deal of recline, you can recline opposite seats and they meet or almost meet in the middle, making a sort of bed. I've traveled with families who reserve the whole compartment and turn it into beds.
Yes, btw very similar seats are in Bmz 2nd class coaches, operated on ÖBB Nightjet trains :-)

Nice video Pete! I have a good memories of these coaches too but of course I am happy to see them being finally replaced by newer ones. With the arrival of the new timetable, I can already see a good amount of potential content for your channel. 😄
I am already planning my first travel itinerary on the next next Sunday in which I'll try the new R23 newly operated by Regiojet from Lysá to Ústí and from there the new Interjet trainset to Prague, then perhaps the R9 with better coaches to Kolín and back to Lysá by the R23 again. Luckily we don't live in the UK so such trip won't cost me a fortune. 😄

A few weeks ago I went by several fast trains through several regions in the Czech Republic on one day, exclusively with Bautzen AB and B cars. AB cars for more legroom in the 2nd class. ;-)
It was not the first time I did this, and as always, it was a nice tour. Even if the cars are no longer up-to-date, I find traveling in them more pleasant than in many modern or modernized vehicles. Except maybe in summer when it's hot ...
Despite the constant modernization and loss of lines to other companies, I hope that such tours will be possible for a while longer.
By the way: the legroom in the B-cars is actually not bad. In the cars built in the GDR, the compartments are larger than in most western and modern compartment cars. The EC on the way back from Prague to Dresden was so full of people, that it felt quite cramped in the compartment in the Bmz.
I also like Bautzen A/B coaches. Especially the A149 is very comfortable coach, I prefer to take the R-Vltava than the IC / EC Jižní expres train on this route (I hate the ARmpee829 coach there). Otherwise, these Bautzen coaches will still be in operation on R-Rožmberk train (AB + B) and also one Bd coach on R-Bouzov train. On other routes I think they will remain as a backup only.

Hello. Nice video. I appriciate it mostly cause I'm from Budějovice :D. Only addiction that some connections also stops at Sezimovo Ústí (Between Tábor and Planá) and also since december the trains will also stop at Praha-Zahradní Město, the newly built station at Prague.
Will you do in the future R - Otava? It is now run by Arriva, but I hope it will not be the problem.
R20 Prague - Beroun - Příbram - Písek - České Budějovice
Hello, thank you :-) I am very happy that R-vltava / Lužnice will stop at Praha - Zahradní město, because I live not far from this station :-) I have already thought about the R-Otava train, I took this train to Beroun last year, but sometimes I'd like to try the whole route from České Budějovice.

Pete, come to Hungary, to travel on the Budapest-Nagykanizsa ( 30 nr) or Budapest-Veszprém-Szombathely (20 nr)railway line. It's a really great experience for you.

I liked Szili locomotives then leading the Nové Zámky - Bratislava - Kúty regional passenger trains and Bratislava - Zvolen fast trains, as a natural equalization for Gorillas on EC trains from Budapest to Prague, at least the railways were colourful at the time (the same goes for the Czech Plecháč - "Tin can" - "Bádogdoboz" pulling the Zvolen rychliks)
The Hungarian Halbis are great deal and job. I have seen some Hungarian trainspotter videos and I must admit I would like to ride them. (...and, of course ,I have as TT scale model too, but unfortunately no Szili or Csörgő locomotives are available for reasonable price).

Opět velmi povedené video! jsem nadšený já moderně ta trať je provedená. To až přijdou nové vozy to se bude cestovat jako v ráji. Ale atmosféra těch legend už bude patřit minulosti.
Díky moc! Taa trať už jde hezky do finále, pak by měl zůstat už jen jednokolejný úsek Nemanice - Dobřejovice, což je těsně před Budějovicemi. Jinak se mi po A149 bude celkem stýstak, mám je rád.. ale Béčka myslím ještě nějaký čas zůstanou jako posily a zálohy.

Nice report Pete. Its good you tell us where the carriages are built; I did a check on Wiki and the factory history is very interesting 🤗 I wonder if these carriages will get cascaded / sold to other railways or if they will be scrapped. I really like the 1st class compartments, it's like what they used to have in the UK in the 60s/70s.
Thanks so much! Bautzen coaches are well known in my area. Lot of them were upgraded and are still in operation in many countries. Many of these ones, operated in my country, will be replaced, but I thin they will remain as backup and reinforcements :-)
I can on behalf the Slovaks:
The passengers are in love'n'hate relationship with these coaches.
The class A 19-41 does not exist anymore and the class AB 39-41 only one coach.
On few B 20-41 remained in the original condition, at least the leatherette coating have been changed into fabric.
My favourites are:
the reconstructed class Bpeer 29-70 open saloon or the declassed ex A 19-41 into Bee 29-48 (B 29-40) comparment.
The Hungarian made Bh 21-07 UIC-Y coaches were rebuilt or scrapped.
The Czechoslovakian made Bdt, Bte 21-07 classes were rebuilt or remained in original condition as back-up "craps", mostly in disgusting peas green livery with graffiti...

Vím že jsi dělal jízdu ze Západního Expresu z Chebu do Prahy.. Nezkusil by jsi někdy jízdu na R Krušnohor? Je to z Chebu do Prahy Hl.n. Ale jede se přes Karlovy Vary, Most, Ústí nad Labem a do Prahy. + v Ústí se mění lokomotivy. Nemuselo by to být špatné video 😁
Jinak video je pěkné, jako vždy. S nejkrásnější lokomotivou a nejkrásnějšíma vozama 😍

Jinak Krušnohor mám natočený z léta v úseku Klášterec n.O. - Praha hl.n., ale nějak se mi ty záběry nelíbí .. takže chci udělat nový a celou trasu (akorát už to asi vyjde na interjety). Soupravu s ABmz budu stejnak mít z R-Berounka, tak to snad nebude vadit :-D

Já jsem Krušnohorem jezdil celkem často (vždy v ABmz), protože odtud původem pocházím. ABmz jsem koukal že přejdou asi všechny na R-Berounka místo ABpee, kde část přejde na R-Bouzov místo AB349. Jinak podkrušnohorská magistrála je dle mého jedna z nejhezčích tratí v ČR.

Rád bych se taky zeptal, co si myslíš o tom že nahrazují hlas Danuše (Anduly) na nádražích?
Díky moc :-) No nic moc, hlavně vynechávají v hlášení kategorii vlaku, což nechápu. Ale obecně já bych byl nejraději, kdyby se přešlo na systém silent stations, kdy se pravidelná hlášení nedělají vůbec a hlásí se jen změny nástupiště, zpoždění a mimořádnosti.

To zní dobře, zrovna jsem nedavno přemýšlel kde nejblíž od Prahy tyto vozy jezdí, tak díky za dobrý námět :-)

Nice video, I can't believe the stations and the trains are so empty of human beings.
They have to be losing money on these routes.
He had to be filming during the weekend, during work days they are filled with passengers.
Thank you! The train is usually empty from the origin station, but most people board at Prague Central Station. Otherwise, the load factor was about 50% (because Saturday morning). But on weekdays, these trains must have around 7 coaches, because they run quite busy.

In our region, but I can say, in Europe generally, the state owned railways have not profit - they are donated from the taxpayers money - except InterCity train services.
It is so called "obligation of public services".
The lines are mostly state owned, but open access. The competitors can be state or private owned railways. In the case of "rychliks - fast trains", the costumers are de facto the local governments of the regions where the train runs. These trains are donated.
The IC trains on open access lines, not matter, what company, as Prague - Ostrava is (or another main line) in the Czech republic - no way for any donation, these trains run "capitalist" of full price from CBA.
I think this theme deserves a video, because it is very difficult to explain in four-five sentences.

Ahoj všichni, jsem příznivcem kombinace nového se starým. Zajímavé video. Ještě by mě zajímalo jestli nevíte o nějakém BDS ještě přímo v červené kožence ? Či nějaké jiné kupé s červenou koženkou? Nevíte kolik BD bude po neděli celkově vyzářeno? Přemýšlím, že bych dnes nebo zítra nekam vyrazil
Díky :-) Nejvíc provozních BDs449 s interiérem v červené kožence má depo České Budějovice, ale na R17 (Vltava/Lužnice) jsem vždy potkal už přeplyšované. Pravděpodobně je nasazují na vodácké vlaky a nebo spolu s patry na Rybník - Lipno. Pak bylo asi i nějaké v Děčíně, ale nevím jestli jezdí. Jinak jsem párkrát potkal starý červený interiér spíše na B249 jako posilu u R-Vysočina (Brno jich pár má). Ale po neděli se zatím asi moc nezmění, na R17 se zatím podle plánku řazení vymění jen část soupravy (A149 za Aee140, pak nějaké B249 za Bee apod), ale většina Bbdgmee co měla jít jako nárada, zatím asi zůstane na původních linkách odkud měly přijít (Krušnohor a Zápdní ex), protože InterJety mají zpoždění.
BDs s koženkou (i B s koženkou) jezdí na 100 % na R od KŽC
A do 2.třídy si můžu sednout kam chci myslím v rychlíku?
Jo, všude kde není rezervace nebo vyhrazená místa.

Díky :-) No vztahuje se to k lince R17, takže Vltava a Lužnice.. jinak tuším v kmenových soupravách jsem viděl že zůstanou jen na R-Rožmberk a nějaké Bd264 na Bouzovech. Ikdyž si myslím, že B249 ještě zůstanou na zálohách a jako posily. Konkrétně na vltavách už budou Aee140, Bbdgmee, Bdpee a Bee.

Proto jsem si tu linku projel ještě před platností nového grafikonu. Teď se občas nějaké B objeví jako posila, ale většinou ze starších vozů jede jen nějaké B209, což je původní A149 přeznačené na 2. třídu.
Kde jsou ty časy, když ještě byly ty barvy různý u Č(S)D
Jo, dřív si v depech s těmi nátěry vyhráli, hlavně u dieselů.. a u elektrik zas šlo podle barvy poznat trakci :-)
