- Sig p320 takedown issue fix Brand new 320c had this 2 may 2017, push the rod down. Also as per SIg, when I called, they said this should break in in about 300 rounds. If not call them and they would send a new guide rod assembly. Their customer service is pretty good so far

Glad to know I wasn’t the only one having this issue. I just bought my P320 several days ago and thought “How did I break this thing already??” Much appreciated for the vid!
6 years after you posted it and your video still helping folks! I was going crazy and couldn’t figure out what was wrong. Thanks!
Yes Exactly why I leave it up..
You saved me a trip to the gun store! Thank you!
You are very welcome and thank you as well !!
At about ~700 rounds through my p320 first time running into this issue. You saved the day thanks man.
Omg. I am glad after 15mins of fighting I decided to look this up!! Thank you!!!
you are welcome I had to make the video when Mine did it to me..
Had this issue today on a P320 AXFG that I just built and took to the range. I went to clean it after the range and couldn't get the Take down to drop (I have never seen this before and I know my 320's and have an 320 Amory block from Sig Guy and the whole 9) but it felt like I was going to have to break it to get it to drop. I watched your video and changed the angle of the Guide Rod (Which is a DPM) and it immediately fixed the issue and she dropped perfectly without any struggle, cant thank you enough 😊
I owned many and many other brands before I made the video.
To this day I still have a 320, the M18 and the M18 has not done this yet....But that first 320 did. My video has helped many so far and I am glad it helped you as well..
Thanks just ran into this issue u saved me a few curse words!!
Very helpful.. just got my p320 and was having this problem.. locked the slide a few time to where I was able to move the take down lever much easier and boom slide came off with no problems.. surprised no one talked about this on all the review videos I watched before I bought the gun
Thanks very much for the excellent tip, found an addendum to your solution. Used a small mallet with a plastic end in a punch set, wacked the slide lever and it locked back from the 7:00 position to the normal position and was able to get the gun back in normal battery. Trigger works fine, takedown works fine, but you are spot on, the slide takedown lever can be a real bear! Happy Trails Brother!🇺🇸
Thanks man was having trouble breaking down my gun and this was the issue
Very helpful video for me as well!! I actually have a threaded barrel and compensator on my sig p320, and I was having a ton of trouble with moving the takedown lever! I watched this video and thought, "what if I took the comp off?" Something else the guide rod does is move forward ever so slightly when shifting the takedown lever down, so I found that my comp was obstructing it. Would have never thought of that without watching this video! Thank you!!
This just saved me hours of frustration! Thank you!
I had the opposite problem, I couldn't get the slide completely back on. What I discovered was that when I was messing around with the guide rod I didn't realize that I had actually unscrewed it a little, making the rod just slightly longer. When I turned the end with the 2 holes clockwise, tightening the assembly, it only turned so far. Put it back int he slide and success. All works just fine.
The Net is full of "accidents" occured with this pistol. I owned one, P320C and after a while I was quite happy to sell it and went back to GLOCK
Keep shoving your Glock up your anus, dufus, nobody cares.
Still helpful in 2020. Thanks.
Thank you for saving me a trip and $ at the gunsmith!
I stopped messing around and went back to my trusty Glock
Thank you! I haven’t been able remove my slide, afraid I would break something with the force I was applying.
VERY helpful video. Mine guid rods don't really get stuck in the "down" position like yours, but if I for them "up" a little, the take down lever swings right down. Thanks!
Thank you! Pusehed it up and was able to disassemble.
Thank you so much for this!
Thanks. This issue was driving me nuts.
Thanks for your video. I knew I'd destroyed my P320.
Very helpful. I just got my M-18 back from Sig and I couldn't get takedown lever open. Those recoil assemblies on the P320's can be a pain.
Txs, just had these issues last night. Emailed Sig!
In the 6 years since, I hope you got the recall work done on your gun as it still has the heavy trigger.
New legion had the same problem, also wouldn't quite let the slide back far enough on reassembly to engage the lock. Orientation of the guide rod on barrell end (oblongish) seems to need/want to be orientated longer vertically to achieve full slide to lock. First sig and I'm not exactly feeling wonderful about the premium price and having these finicky issues right out of the box.
Great presentation sir. I'm a subscriber
Just bought my sig 320 today and could not get that damn release turned! Like you said even when I left that piece up it's still a bitch for that release the turn. Do not like that at all. I should have tested that in the store.
Thanks, I pushed the guide rod up and down a few times then it came right out.
Thank You Got The Same Problem
I just got the 320 classic and it does the same thanks..
Finicky reasons like this are why I went back to my Glocks.
I don’t need BS happening if I need to field strip my pistol under stress. Also, more often than not the mag won’t I steer after reassembly until I manipulate the slide stop while racking, so the detent goes back into place
Reason I like Glocks and CZ’s. I don’t want to think; just do it
Thank you God for this video LOL
I was about to return this gun!
Thank you!
Thank you, that helped.
Did this problem resolve after ~300 rounds as they suggested? I'm having a similar issue with my new 320, but haven't made it to the range yet.
Thanks so much, thought I broke something!
Just found out the sig p365 lever problem is only when an empty mag is inserted.
just read this comment and facepalmed myself :( damn noob
@@8gentile no shame.. had to learn somehow
Manny, sorry I don’t follow. I have the same problem during disassembly. The disassembly lever is ridiculously hard to push down. Taking out the mag is always the first step when disassembling the firearm so that can’t be the issue. I’ve read that the guide up needs to be up a little or pulling the trigger while pulling on the lever could help but I haven’t tried it. Gun is brand new so I’ll keep playing around. If there are other ideas out there for the 365, please advise.
... I cannot believe myself.... 😑 Dumb empty mag! Gotta guess it's a safety check for us built in!
I know this issue is alttle old but I finally had to call sig about my problem with the disassembly lever. I was told that the lever will work better after a break in period. Like 150-200 rounds. Although I was somewhat skeptical as I didn’t think that firing a new pistol would have anything to do with a difficult to push down disassembly lever? Well, I was able to get out to the range in spite of the pandemic and ammo shortages and fired off 150 rounds. The Sig shot flawlessly and for the record no primer drags. Got home and son of gun, the disassembly lever worked without problem. The pistol is great and well worth the wait in purchasing it.
I have the exact same problem with a brand new -nov. 2020 - sig 365. I’m killing my thumbs attempting to push the lever down. I’ve watched your video but my operating rod can’t seem to correct the problem. Gonna kill some t8me tomorrow calling sig. this is just to frustrating..
Thanks!
My issue was trying to disassemble the slide with an empty mag in the gun, once I took the magazine out, the lever turned without an issue.
Awesome. This just worked for me. 👍👍👍❤
Only thing I think can do this is the recoil spring binding (I think at the front of the slide). It is the springs of the recoil spring that you fight to turn the takedown lever. Should be an easy fix if you're not against modifying parts. You ever flip the recoil spring and see if that fixes it? Might only be on one side of the recoil spring causing binding. (edit: I forgot about the takedown safety lever. You can remove it, but then you have to pull the trigger and slightly pull the slide back to disassemble. SIG gave a friend a gun with a broken takedown safety lever and they would not replace it... so he just removed it and prefers not to have it.)
Thanks for the video! I thought I was being a bitch at first, pushed so hard my thumb even split. After wiggling the guide rod a little bit it was easy as cake.
I just got my sig 365 it was made in March of 2021 and I got it brand new amd still experiencing this problem as well but managed to get it off thans for the video I though well darn I just spent money and am not going to be able to clean it glad it's not just me tho
It should loosen up after a few hundred rounds if you can find and afford Ammo.
@@DAVE_WHITE it did loosen up a lot actually thank you for that info I appreciate it
Very helpful
Thanks
This occurs with the sig p365 too.
My 9320 compact doesn't have any of these issues. I bought it a little over a year ago. Not sure if something was changed or what
Probably changed even on the new M18 there is now a certain way you have to put the guide rod into the slide, So my 2 cents behind the scenes they knew this might be an issue, and made changes as my m18 is fine
Thanks problem solved 😀
My take down lever is stuck I n the open position. Any tips. Gun is brand new too.
Is the slide locked back? While you're trying to return the lever to it's 3 o'clock position?
Did you have the mag out?
The Mag must be out or the take down lever will not turn.
Mag was out, I never try to do any cleaning or takedown with a mag in any firearm.
I just bought a new one and it has the same issue!
Same thing with the p365. I have to push mine down
I have problems with the p365
armory craft sport takedown lever is the answer to the problem
Thank you! 2024 lol
Just lift up on the guide rod and it will rotate
You helped me so much with this comment
pull trigger with slide locked to rear
@Ryan Maharaj.Sig says you don't have to pull the trigger to disassemble thier gun.🤔🇺🇸🇺🇸
It would be too much to ask for the overpriced pistol to function as new when it's new.
Oh wait, you must jiggle this. Oh wait, we meant for you to replace the batteries in your Romeo 1 optic monthly... Sig BS.
Non elite design with an elite price
Can you remake this video and just be direct and not drag it out by repeating the same exact sentences?
some get lost and need to hear it 3 times you can also use the right > key to fast forward through a video.
I have my upper off of the lower I’m trying to get the take down pin to come all the way out of the lower for two days now it won’t come out so I can pull the chassis out
Bitch took me an hour before i found your vid haha
