Shane Gillis used his Saturday Night Live opening monologue to address his 2019 firing from the variety sketch series.
On Saturday, the stand-up comedian took on the coveted role of SNL host nearly five years after he was fired from a cast position for using racial and homophobic slurs on a podcast. While addressing the crowd from the stage inside Studio 8H, he brought up the controversy and told the audience to not bother doing their research into his past if they don't know anything about what went down.
"I'm here," the 36-year-old said at the start of the almost eight-minute monologue. "Most of you probably have no idea who I am. I was actually -- I was fired from this show a while ago. But, you know, don’t look that up, please. If you don't know who I am, please don’t Google that. It’s fine. Don’t even worry about it." - Zábava
A comedian after my own theater kid heart: Gianmarco Soresi. Absolutely love his work.
100%! I’ve watched his stuff on social media for a while and then I got to see him last year in person and he was great, hardest I’ve ever laughed at a comedy show
same and same
Scrolled to say the same thing
my guy!!
Two alarming trends I've noticed over the years is the self aggrandizing many comedians fall into, but at the same time the undervaluing of the actual medium they profit from. A ton of comedians like to hold themselves to this higher standard of cerebral comedy, the idea they're the smartest person in the room, so much so they forget to have fun with the material. A lot of work I hear comes off more as telegraphed rants more than anything. At the same time when the mildest of pushback arises they'll go "it's just words," like my guy, your entire career is built on words. A few comedians have managed to build God damn Empires on words. I struggle to understand how someone can overvalue themselves so much, while undervaluing their impact.
Exactly. This is how I feel too. Most of the time they are male comedians. Like they want money and praise to say the most offensive things because they know the ppl who fall for it will back them up no matter what. They’re not doing it for the art of comedy. They are grifters. Male comedians these days are real life Twitter and Podcasters. Just rants to make ppl feel angry and to promote some fucking product. In Matt Rife’s case it’s his doctor’s filler injections. It’s funny that the ppl who have a problem with female and LGBTQ comedians praise ppl like Chappell and Louis CK. If they’re fine with straight comedians saying anything to a specific audience then maybe stfu when it comes to women talking about their periods and gay men going on a bad Grindr hookup. Because honey if women and LGBTQ comedians go unfiltered to talk about straight (white) men on stage, white male comedian supporters will crawl back into their mother’s arms.
I've felt for awhile that standup has too much ego in it and only comedians that actively work on staying grounded (bo Burnham for example) tend not to fall into the trap of it. It's not like sketch comedy, that actively requires people to make themselves look a little foolish for comedy, or improv which is like sketch but even more humbling. Stand up, more specifically popular stand up comedians, is literally someone standing on a stage while an entire crowd cheers and laughs at everything they say. The second there's any notoriety for the comedian, it's an inherently egoistic medium, which isn't inherently bad, but is often weilded badly
Comedians like this always seem to think that the audience can't tell when they're being talked down to.
Matt Rife gives pick me, but for men. It’s weird and off putting.
gay guys
True. I'd take Shane over him. At least Shane has a kind of humility to himself, it seems.
That’s why I like him
Matt rifes ENTIRE fan base is Middle Aged woman who think he’s hot 😂 he is not even close to funny. (When someone is handsome= sooo funny)
When all of his fans freaked out over the opening joke of his special, in like tell me you've never watched stand up other than the guy you saw on TikTok, without telling me so. Same thing with Travis Kelce at the Super Bowl. They saw him act up, and I could tell they've never seen a football game that didn't involve Taylor Swifts presence. It's completely normal for the art form, but people who've never seen it were shocked because they had no idea what they were in for.
I think BMO said it best, “Maybe it’s just not funny”
And the makeup you were does not make you pretty 😮
@@stonnergaming420at least learn how to spell "wear" before trying to put people down. kind of embarrassing...
@@vechilia752 autism alert. How long you been looking at comments to disagree with?
Also I vote yes on the "inside" retrospective because that special had a chokehold on me for an entire 2 years
You get it 🤝🏽💪🏽
can't recommend Daniel Sloss' stand up enough
1000%
Yes!!! He's really great.
His book is also great
Your video is very timely because Joe Lycett a comedian and presenter from the UK recently called out Ricky Gervais for the stuff he makes comedy about and said in not these exact words that essentially "edgy" comedians are basically lazy. It isn't smart or clever or well put together. These are not well crafted funny jokes. Joe said that if people like Gervais actually took the time to write proper jokes that were actually funny and didn't punch down or rely or shock value or edginess then people would have less issues with their comedy.
I just felt like this was a very relevant thing to mention with the topic of this video.
Nothing should be off the table, this whole “punching down” concept is completely antithetical to comedy. People are sick of you lame asses trying to police comedy. There’s a good reason why Gervais’ special was the most viewed on NFLX.
And the thing is, nobody is trying to take your shitty comedy away. If you want to watch these woke losers, go for it. The problem is, you want to ruin comedy for everyone outside your douchey bubble.
Yeah also James Acaster criticized Ricky Gervais making fun of the trans community in his special. I’ll definitely have to look into Joe Lycett though, he’s so right in that.
People claiming their art form is harder (or the way to go about things) are so cringe. There are smart "edgy" jokes and lazy "edgy" jokes.
It’s literally the most unserious topic…im so sick of people creating problems to avoid the ones they don’t wanna to deal with. I can guarantee every time one of these things blows up, There is something much more serious happening behind the scenes somewhere else that is being overshadowed by this nonsense
@@MaidenHelllyes there are serious issues in the world but sometimes they are too big to comprehend so we focus on the smaller things because we compartmentalise them better. Like I'm a 25 year old waitress from England how the hell am I meant to fix the invasion of Ukraine or the conflict in Palestine or the rolling back or reproductive rights in the US or the stripping away of trans rights in both the UK and the US. That is beyond my skills set and yes I have opinions on these things and express them when I can but I don't have the power or the means to actually change them but something like a shitty comedian making bad jokes I can do something about because I do have the means to go to comedy shows and access stuff like Netflix and I have the power to change the narrative of these situations by not going to see one comedian and supporting someone who I think is better. That is more realistic. So yeah we are not ignoring the serious issues in the world but sometimes thinking about them every minute of every day is overwhelming and depressing and we just wanna lett off some steam on a smaller more trivila less serious issues becuase that feels more within our wheel house of something we have the power to change.
Matt Rife kinda looks like Sid from Ice Age.
I’ve always thought Anya Taylor Joy reminded me more of Sid.
If that's meant to be insulting, then just remember how much of an icon Sid is, and therefore Matt would be iconic.
@@Woozlewuzzleablearen’t you special
@@firstlast9846 I'll never unsee that
Correction: he looks like sid from ice age had a baby with handsome squidward
Taylor Tomlinson, all her specials are phenomenal.
One of my top favorites, along with Josh Johnson.
@@Claire_Loves_Music Maybe having an alliterative name is the key to stand up?
bc of this I watched a clip of her talking about being in her 20s and laughed the whole way through, thank you!!
Yeah, we saw her when she came to our town a few years back and she was great.
@@luanagullotta6218 maybe..... 😂
I don't even like John Mullaney, but how does "he got a divorce" translate to "he was a completely different person in his private life"? Most people who have broken up with a partner had, at some point in the past, raved about that partner.
Him being a "completely different person in his private life" probably made more sense in reference to his addiction, and less to his divorce. Addiction is a tough trap to get out of, so I have some sympathy for Mulaney. I understand that after going through something like that, it really makes you reevaluate your life. The time line of everything always seemed so nebulous to me, but it makes sense that a divorce was the result of Mulaney hiding his addiction from his wife. His ex posted a lot about the split so idk who initiated it.
Jessica Kirson, Josh Johnson, Jay Jurden and Mateo Lane are all my top current comedians atm, solid vid love
Matteo Lane is great 😂
Based on that I think Jessica and Matteo are hilarious, I need to check out the other two. I also have seen some clips of Taylor Tomlinson and I think she’s awesome as well, have to watch her new special.
My comedian recommendation: Matteo Lane! He's a gay NYC comedian and has three comedy specials and a ton of clips on his youtube channel and they're great!
Thank you for summing-up how I feel about Mulaney. I feel like Baby J is under rated. Look up James Acaster's Cold Lasagne Hate Myself 1999 - particularly his bit about 'edgy' comedians.
James Acaster is a top tier comic. He’s so funny and has a really good understanding of what actually “edgy” comedy is, the tea bit is totally wild and uncomfortable and pretty funny. I’m such a ride or die for James Acaster
Matt Rife looks like he's wearing a human mask but not quite pulling it off. Seeing people fawn over him is just something I don't understand
He's definitely on something.
Honestly when I first saw him somewhere I did think he was good looking but then the clip started, and I was immediately yikes. The reason these men don’t understand how what comes out of their mouth literally can make you the ugliest person in an instant. But yeah some of the other photos you sometimes see are just wild and like damn something do be off. Maybe it’s also this toxic masculine trend with the looksmaxxing.
Is it even “these jokes aren’t funny” or is it more “we’ve seen it 1000 times, it’s boring”
Is “women should stay in the kitchen” even “edge comedy”?
The "Islam is right about women" campaign was pretty damn edgy and not only funny, but thought provoking on our prejudices against how literal some religions take themselves over others, which may or may not be true. There's plenty of edge comedy still in existence, just not frequently done by comedians, but by internet trolls.
or sam hyde's stunts (his show wasn't that great, but his candyman wrestling character was hilarious).
Yeah, but all the fans of these type of comedians will ignore you and put words in your mouth by saying, "UR JUST OFFENDED!!1!"
Nicole Byer, Lady to Lady podcast (Babs Gray, Brandie Posey, Tess Barker + tons of amazing guests), Dropout content features so many brilliant improv actors
I just watched Nicole Byer's Crowdwork special, it was hilarious!
Not gonna lie. I always assumed that you were mixed lol.
I was about to comment something similar lol. I always thought she was like Latina or Spanish or something. You know, “spicy white” lol.
Hahaha it’s a common assumption! I’m Italian with some middle eastern heritage in there
I thought she was Mexican ICL
@@kaylasays ahhh that explains it! Thanks for the reply! LOVE your content!
I was gonna comment this lol
In terms of comedians who I enjoy, I find that the work of Chris Fleming has always been something I have enjoyed throughout the years - since his CZcams series Gayle, to his most recent Peacock Special. It’s stream of consciousness, queer panic, irreverent, and utterly enjoyable.
Bo still remains as my fav. and his most recent netflix special reaffirmed that. Also the only comedian that i can listen to their entire set without losing interest. The only other comedian I have found that can hold my attention is Taylor Tomlinson so she would be my recommendation to you
Marc Maron remains my favorite. I’ve seen him in a small club setting and a huge theater. He can read a crowd so well, and it’s amazing to watch him in action. He’s also one of the few comedians that makes fun of Joe Rogan’s circle and people like Matt Rife. lol
Also came to the comments to recommend Marc Maron. I've been following him for about 10 years and he puts on a hell of a live show. And yes yes yes I appreciate him so much for dunking on people like Joe Rogan and Matt Rife.
His last comedy special (HBO/Max) made me laugh and cry.
I also have fond memories of a ferret I had who would dance every time I put a Marc Maron special on.
(Also if anyone is still reading this he's on tour right now)
Marc Normand makes fun of Rogan to his face. Lol.
I just found your channel, great content. You are so real, and uncensored which I prefer.
That one photo of Matt Rife is so crazy I always assumed it was photoshopped.
James Acaster is very funny
I think Shane’s monologue was fine, and it sounded people were laughing a lot. He himself said he was bombing but apart from him saying that I didn’t think it was bad. His funniest jokes were ones I’ve heard from him before, so it wasn’t the best. The set wasn’t cringey or uncomfortable for me at all though.
Agree and he didn’t bomb or kill. He always makes fun thst people aren’t laughing. It’s part of the shtick.
I'm so out of touch that I thought Bo Burnham was still dating his gf from Make Happy. I can't believe that had a 12 year age gap :O anyway, great work as always!
love the jerrod carmichael shoutout, speaking of comedians who have hosted SNL his episode was amazing and probably my favorite episode of SNL out of the last few years of the show tbh, he is SO FUNNY and clever and he truly killed it. highly recommend to anyone who hasnt seen!!
My recs will always be Daniel Sloss, also Hannah Gadsby and Mae Martin - and Taylor Tomlinson.
And as some said, Matteo Lane, watched some of his stuff on youtube and I actually laughed out loud and teared up from that!
Damn, I was literally coming to the comments to make this exact list!
You like Hannah???
I usually mostly enjoy gay comedians and female comedians (Maria Bamford, Urzila Carlson, Joel Kim Booster, Matteo Lane). I was surprised how much I enjoyed Moses Storm's special Trash White. (It's more in the vein of Nanette than Matt Rife.)
That's wild to point out what gender or sexual preference a comedian is. Seem a lil up your ass
I love the more frequent uploads. Thanks for great quality content
The thing is, cancel culture does go too far, but i CANNOT laugh at a domestic violence joke. Especially when, in black culture, it's cool to "hit that" or "handle that"
Been obsessively watching Jessica Kirson & Gianmarco Soresi n their crowd work !! 🫶🏽♡
Shane put on a show and will be a driving force behind the change that the entire world wants and needs but can’t say.
About 14:30 “are you interested in being better”
I also feel it’s “do people want you to get better?” because often especially with women online it’s a “NO” but then they often remove themselves when it gets too much because even if they’ve changed they won’t be forgiven like Jenna Marbles or Nostalgia Chick or people never bring it up again like Trisha Paytas
most people who watched Jenna was ready to forgive her. Hardly anyone was holding it against her because she chose to leave immediately after she made her apology, so the main discourse about her was people crying about wanting her back. It’s so tiring that four years later, people still act like Jenna is a victim of her own choice
It’s very interesting for me to see all of this discourse around comedy because comedy has never really been one of my favourite genres of media. I did grow up, watching some stand-up here and there, mostly of Dave Chappelle, because he is also of the community. But I’ve always found comedy to be very cringe, and I never pay attention long enough to actually have. A lot of these jokes makes sense to me, so it’s just really interesting for me to see all of this this course around it.that’s all! Just wanted to add to your engagement lol
I've felt for awhile that standup has too much ego in it and only comedians that actively work on staying grounded (bo Burnham for example) tend not to fall into the trap of it. this is totally random but i watch that red head band member every monologue, i love her
I have a particular affinity for Irish comics, and Dara O'Briain is probably my favorite. I've watched his specials so many times, but they can always me laugh 'til my ribs hurt. Finally got to see him live a couple years ago, and my allegedly waterproof eyeliner was practically gone by the end.
well, people are also mad at Bo Burnham because he was with Lorene Scafaria for many years, and he seemingly started dating Phoebe Bridgers over night... but we have no clue what was really going on because Bo likes to keep his private life private
James Acaster is really good
I ride or die for that man. He’s so funny
Iliza Shlesinger is hilarious, especially 'Elder Millennial'
So unless I’m mistaken, are people upset that Bo Burnham is dating Phoebe Bridgers and not even remotely acknowledging that he previously dated someone much much older than him in the past? Just curious.
I think its simple. There are two kinds of people when it comes to comedy. People who laugh and people who are concerned.
Comedy is a "safe space" for people to say offence things.
Comedy are like chillies you dont have to eat them and you probably shouldn't heat the hot ones
I highly doubt that Bo Burnham has lost more fans because of his relationship with Phoebe Bridgers (whatever it is) than Matt Rife has from his unrepentant misogyny and ableism, including past comments made on various podcasts about his preference in female genitalia and the link to special-needs headgear he posted as a response to the outcry over the Netflix special. Neither of which you mentioned although they do figure significantly into the full story. I can only conclude, as I usually do when watching your essays, that while they are often entertaining and occasionally informative, they are always partisan and (therefore) deeply lacking.
Michelle Wolf and Rosebud baker do darker comedy and that's just a masterclass in how to do it. It's an offense subject but there's a skill around the thought process and delivery. What a lot of straight white men don't think about is that you maybe have to be clever about how you deliver a potentially offensive joke. Maybe think about it, craft it? Make it seem like you've put some care into your work instead of just seeing it as a chance for "man points".
I also love Daniel Sloss and Iliza Shlesinger!
Rec: Gianmarco Soresei
YES saw him in person last year and it’s the hardest I’ve ever laughed at a comedy show
Matteo Lane has me in a chokehold lately.
Why has conedy changed? The internet and social media has given a voice to everyone. Minorities who were silenced are being heard. We used to find certain things funny because we thought it was just words/a joke. When you learn that a joke causes harm, it stops being funny.
Where is the line? It's real simple and easy, if you aren't part of the community you are using as the butt of your joke, you shouldn't make said joke.
jesus that matt rife "joke" was just stare worthy, my God its so outwardly pandery (i know that's not a word idc)
Well said. I recommend reading Kliph Nesterhoff’s book Outrageous on this subject too!
Tbh you're a loser if you're thinking this deep about comedy and yet getting shit so wrong 😂😂😂
I'll be real, Matt Rife actually looks terrifying now.
Like, House Of Wax type bad guy.
I don’t know too much about him, but I saw a couple of Moses Storm bits that I really like.
So it’s not standup comedy, but Andrew Rousso does comedy CZcams that’s amazing. Just like a couple minute skits, very surreal, completely fantastic. Cannot recommend enough.
Baby J is such an underrated stand up show. I loved it! So funny and I felt all the emotions.
I started following Steve Hofstetter during the pandemic and just saw him live 2 weeks ago. He is great!
Will Compton’s tweet was so dumb. Like, Shane didn’t call something or someone the r word, he was just saying if someone ever calls his niece that she’ll have brothers to back her up
Nate Bargatze has been getting the respect he deserves after years of great stand up. James Acaster released a 4 part special on Netflix that is one of the greatest things ever written and performed.
Roy wood Jr and Ali Saddiq 2 of my favorite comedians
4:26
Shane was just inspired by Mirage monologue in RPDR live
I’m happy to hear you talk about this!
Shane Gillis saying "My intention is never to hurt anyone but i am trying to be the best comedian I can be and sometimes that requires taking risks" is so funny. He's like "sorry (?) if i use racial slurs but hey heyyyy you gotta understand, asian person, you're not the one taking risks here, I AM!! Because I, COMEDY, MEN, GREATNESSS
Idk he comes off as someone that thinks way too much of himself. Like if you being ambitious and wanting to become an amazing comedian means taking risks, that's amazing, go off, but take real risks that you truly think make you a different comedian, that make you stand out, that innovate maybe BUT DONT CALL RISKS TO MAKING SILLY ASS RACIST JOKES.
I can’t recommend Nate Bargatze enough. So wholesome and so funny like Jim Gaffigan
My only issue with Jim Gaffigan is that outside of his stand up...he's pretty dumb. It's sad.
15:23 By "stupid", you're referring to the unhinged reactions of these parasocial fans, right?
correct lol
I still occasionally see comments that r like "justice for Anna". I dont understand what justice they want to see regarding a stranger's divorce.
Your content is so refreshingly honest. Thank you for being you.
Very smart commentary. Glad I stumbled across it!
Fern Brady is an autistic comedian and I adore her.
She so delightfully wierd
Oof haven't watched the vid yet, but it was nice knowing you Kayla. Sorry you're about to be hate brigaded for a week from a bunch of sad boys who can't talk about their feelings so they lash out instead!
I mean when you're focused on the race of a comic and make that a point of the video you're going to get hate cuz you're just a bunch of losers that ruin things for people. What was the point of this video? To hate on white comedians that you don't like?
I really like James Acaster. Tbh i've never found Bo Burnham funny and watching his "Inside" special did nothing for me. Just found it a bit self-indulgent (even though that was probably the intention) in an off-putting way.
thank you for explaining this to me like I fell out of a coconut tree
So true about how difficult it is to have productive discourse on this topic.
It's comedy you're making it deeper than it is

Tig Notaro is my favorite stand-up comedian, I definitely recommend her to everyone here!
I recommend Nate Jackson he has a couple specials up on his CZcams page !!

Randy Feltface! Great standup and such good puppetry you’ll forget he’s a little purple freak lol
I think comedy has moved to the video essay. I laughed more at someone's essay on something stupid. Maybe we should call it co-vi-sty... maybe not.
I'd love an Inside retrospective!
An up and coming comedian I really like is Josh Johnson.
Missed opportunity to have a Matt Rife pun in thumbnail 😅 probleMATTic
I am a huge Bo Burnam Stan so I was scared when I saw him next to Matt Rife. And I am obsessed with your channel so I was worried. I def think Bo Burnham's comedy isn't without flaws but I do think he's one of the only white comidens who acknowledge (as you mention) his past and point out the issues in his thinking, as well as a reflection of his own hypocrisy. Bo also points out his witness in a different way then say a "Munaley", (when I say whitness I mean how he passes, not that he is not jewish) I agree that he 100% resents how he got famous and the process of fame. But when I think of the plight of white men in comedy, Bo doesn't feel like he is despreat for relivence like Mike/ Munaley and maybe that's why I view them as difference? I think I also just view Bo as more of an "artist" then a true "comiden" maybe that's the difference? I don't know! I am just a random person on the internet who loves your channel and Bo Burnham and hates the other white men on this list, I hope you have a great day 😂💞
Im confused by what u mean by how Bo points out his whiteness. Or how he passes for white. He is white..... Isnt he?
This was so incredibly hard to read
Gillis did say something racist. If he wouldn't have said that he probably would have been on SNL a season or 2.
Look at the wider context of the clip, he was literally making fun of people that look like him (and me)
Russell Howard is probably my favourite comedian. Mae Martin, Jack Whitehall, Greg Davies, Rhod Gilbert, Dara O’Briain, Aisha Tyler… I’m sure there’s more but I’m forgetful
all of that was really well said Kayla!
I really like Josh Johnson!
great video, subbed!
I feel like edgy comedy only works if it has something to say, no? Otherwise you’re just being a dick because that’s the easy thing to do lol anyone can say something obnoxious and call it a joke lol. I work with middle schoolers, and if we consider that comedy then my 12 year old students need to get paid lmao

Or maybe some people are just naturally funny and capable of making those jokes funny. Not everything needs to mean something more.
@@xandercrews4729 Or maybe some people don't have the skills to see more than face value and feel ashamed at that fact, so they attack anyone who points out anything that makes them question their precarious relationship with masculinity.
@@kezia8027 or maybe they’re just jokes and this isn’t a Sociology class? But again, if you want your shitty, neutered watered down “comedy” that’s fine, just stop trying to dictate what everyone else finds funny.

Good luck dude you can do it!
I second Taylor Tomlinson. If you're not watching After Midnight you're only getting half the story (and AM has on a lot of great comedians as well)
Anthony Jeselnik. His material is very intelligent and sometimes "edgy" without being offensive (or at least if you're offended then you don't understand the humor). You've mentioned you're a hater, like me, and Jeselnik is definitely the hater's comedian of choice
I love a special and Jerrod Carmichael's as well as Jes Tom's are the best ones of the past few years
Josh Johnson!!!! PLEASE check him out!
The late Mitch Hedberg is one of my favorite comedians!
Randy Feltface. He's a puppet comedian and he's hilarious! Surreal at times. His big set "Randy writes a book" was leaked online and went viral.
Wait that's it ? John Mulaney only just... divorced his wife and got married again ??? I thought the dude had beaten his wife ! Holy sht how did this end up being what I heard about him... That feels so weird...
I really recommend Josh Johnson!
I stan comedian women only. I find something very relatable in them
Victimization?
I know, it’s hard to find comedy funny if you’re up your own serious ass with political correctness. The over emphasis on identity has become completely consuming in American culture. If something is funny, it’s funny. It doesn’t matter if they’re white, black, Asian, male, or female, etc. Identitarians are adepts at making things bland and unfunny, for the sake of virtue signaling their wokeness (or “patriotism, on the other side). This obsession with identity has all but ruined a majority of modern movies, with an over emphasis on gender and race swapping, and not much effort in the way of intriguing storytelling. Comedy is the front lines of free speech.
The best comedians in my opinion are right in the middle of the road politically, because they can critique the ludicrous nature of the extremes of both sides. I know the left likes to think that there’s nothing to critique on their side, and if you don’t toe the line on every issue, or you critique it, you’re “alt right”. Both sides are worthy of satire. Especially where people are obsessed with identity.
Personally, I think Shane Gillis is bound to be legendary one day and one of the best comedians that we have seen in a long time . And part of what I find funny about him is that he’s not humping either political side, but he’s making fun of both of them. That’s part of a comedian’s job; to find where you’re uptight and push those edges, so you can laugh at yourself. Comedy is a Way to discuss the darkest aspects of the human psyche and society… and social taboos, but by bringing laughter into those places, it helps to heal them. And personally, I don’t think comedy with a woke agenda is very funny, because it’s too puritanical and safe… and takes itself to seriously.
Matt Rife is the only guy in that thumbnail to face backlash really and he kinda deserved it by cultivating a very specific audience and then telling a joke everyone knows they would hate. Then having that joke be so mid that no guys comedy fans would really want to go to mat to defend him or even start watching his stuff. He’s gonna need to get a lot better if he wants to regain any audience and even then it’s going to be an uphill battle because of how he looks and his history.
My comedic opinion is you can truly joke about anything, including offensive shit, but you have to EARN it; it’s gotta be fucking clever and funny
