  • This student came to me asking for a full slate of training sessions and instruction to go from Zero To Hero in the DCS F/A-18C Hornet and get to a point where he could fly in and enjoy our regular Sunday Missions that are hosted on my Discord Server.
    My goal with these training sessions, and especially folks with very little experience, is to take away the intimidation factor of learning a DCS World Aircraft, and give them the tools required to more easily learn the aircraft on their own between training events. I typically send students away from these training events with homework consisting of a stack of Training Mission Miz Files, along with reading recommendations for books and various manuals, along with recommendations for Videos and Documentaries to watch.
    I always try to help create a well rounded DCS World player who knows a lot about the jet but also knows how to interact in the aviation environment allowing them to more easily integrate themselves into larger groups of pilots on our sunday missions or public servers, so the basics of ATC and Tactical coms are always on the training syllabus.
    This video depicts the second lesson for this student, our first lesson was a little rough but man he sure made amazing progress throughout this last week as he worked through the various homework tasks assigned and surprised the heck out of me with how easily he took to using the Targeting Pod.
    As always guys, I do one on one training with all of my Patrons who donate $15 or more on Patreon, you can find the link in the description as well as in the pinned comment. After you sign up, make sure to send me a PM on Discord so we can set up a date and time for your first training Event.

    Great timing! Just last night I put myself in the Hornet to try and learn the thing. Have had the module for ages but spend all my time in the Warthog and Viper.

    Tip: You can hide your HMD in the Hornet by pressing and holding R on your keyboard. You can do this in the F-16 by holding DMS switch down.

    TY. Even though Ive seen most of these already Im still learning a lot. Ive decided to come back to this bird. The F15 needs more bake time.
    Q: When you say in your missions you fly a bit faster, what is a bit? 500mph?

    I also sometimes get the flaps warning at start, usually cycling the flaps switch clears the warning.

    Hello spud , very great videos i learned all my aircrafts on DCS from you. There is a 4th answer from the tower which is a variant : behind aircraft on final line up and wait behind ! Thanks for the job you do here !!! Great instructor !

    Even if your trim is set there will be drag created by the ordinance on the side they are on which will cause a yaw and therefore a resulting bank.
    Trim rudder as well as ailerons.

    Wait.. you can just go to IFA on INS alignment? Thought you had to set to CV or Ground and wait for the OK on the HSI page...? Is it not fully implemented?

    • @Spudknocker
      @Spudknocker  Před 20 dny +1

      It is fully implemented, IFA does a continuous alignment via coupling the INS to GPS systems. If you do not have GPS available align the INS as you said
