I guess most people need to see the person behind the scenes. As you’re well aware I need to see the scenery that you capture so well. I’m very happy with the vlogs you do. Many thanks for allowing me to cruise with you in this way. In spite of 60 years hire boat cruising I’ve not seen England in the way you film it, because I’ve enjoyed the boating so much.
Stuart
Excellent work as usual Phil.
So nice to watch your vlogs at bed time, wifey falls asleep whilst your music is playing.
Keep safe and dry and virus free.
Thanks, will do. You too. :-)
Some of the best of your music! So wonderful with views!😊
Thank you very much Curt :-)
George George George of the jungle watch out for that tree.
Thanks for another delightful trip! I love how well your music goes with your video shots.
Thank you. It's mainly to do with the tempo of the music I think - nice and slow. My faster music doesn't work as well with the videos.
Beautiful! 💙 Thank you so much for sharing. 😊
Thank you! 😊
Your video’s & music are so stress free & a joy . Thanks
Thank you. Glad you like them. :-)
Just a sweet journey in sunshine.
Once again a delight.
Thank You
Thank you too. :-)
Beautiful countryside. Beautifully filmed and edited. Plus the wonderful music. All in all... Perfection.
Thank you very much :-)
Another great vlog. The scenery is just beautiful and I loved the accompanying music. Have a great week 😊👍
Thank you! You too!
Thank You . What breathtaking views. Professional work as always.
Many thanks!
Very interesting trip with the Toddbrook bonus a welcomed extra.
WOW! 🙂
Thanks for all the great videos.
Your narrow boat cruising videos are the best.
Great music.
Thoroughly Impressive.
Well done.
Thank you. I'm constantly looking for ways to improve quality. 😀
thanks for taking us on the journey, lovely incidental music, I think the track is flutter? such a haunting tune 👍
Thank you. The guitar track is called Flutter. I'm thinking about possibly re-recording and expanding it a bit one day...
Beautiful scenery,Thanks!
Thanks for another great vlog. Keep safe.
Thanks, you too!
Just wondering Phil. The tracks that you played in this vlog, obviously I know that you play the guitar. But the other instruments in your composition, do you use a midi keyboard controller. Just wondering as I think the track "Flutter" is excellent. I am just starting to dabble with a midi keyboard controller and hearing what can be achieved is a bonus for me.
Pretty area.. Thanks for explaining about the water "fountain" and dam break...glad that didn't end up worse and that water can still supply the canal. Take care, Phil!
Thank you. The canal was closed and local boats evacuated at the time of the incident.
My favourite cats going down my favorite canal - perfect! (Oh yeah, they let Phil tag along too). Awesome video again Phil, thankyou
Thank you. A short but interesting canal - and there's more to come...
Excellent video, beautiful music, walked along this towpath this afternoon,23rd anyone wishing to walk along this towpath can access it from the far end of the Tesco car park.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.
Well with waiting for . I cannot wait to get back on the cut, but living in Spain means 14 day quarantine making it impossible .Your videos keep me going!
Thank you for all your efforts .
Thank you Trevor.
Hi Phil
Been looking forward to your autumn video, sparkling sun and warm colours, stunningly beautiful.
Could I make an observation regarding bridges? As you approach you jump forward into the bridge hole and as you leave you obscure the view behind. This does not detract from my enjoyment! When filming contre-jour the view behind is in full sunlight. Brilliant Vlog, a million paintings. Thank you and many more please. Keep safe regards Stuart.
Thank you. People said they wanted to see more of me in my videos... can't think why? I have to make edits because most viewers don't like them to go on for too long. This is evident in the reduced interest in my slow tv video channel.
Hi Phil Another good un, Cheers,
Many thanks.
Great vlog remember seeing the RAF Chinook Helicopters on the NEWS dropping the bags real precision bombing
Yes, I remember watching it on the news.
Most interesting! And thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks Phil fantastic scenery, I've found it quite difficult filming into the low sunshine at this time
of year especially early in the morning. Take care. Alan
Thank you. The lighting should be better on the return journey as the sun will be behind me.
That is a beautiful canal, I remember the worry about the dam, an awful experience for all at the time. Thank you Phil, take care.
Thank you. It would have been a disaster if the dam had given way. I'm sure I remember lots of weeds growing between the concrete when I was there 20 years ago. I couldn't find any old photos of it though.
Another interesting vlog Phil. Particularly interesting about the dam issues near Whaley Bridge. Hopefully you are able to keep your solar topped up now as winter approaches. Take care.
Thank you, I hope so too. If we get a reasonably sunny winter it shouldn't be too bad...
Good out on the cut keep updates of your trip on it
Thanks, will do!
Just lovely - I think I am an armchair gongoozler!
Thank you. :-)
very nice
Thanks
Nice
Thanks
Lovely cruise. Beautiful.
Many thanks!
Good morning Phil, I enjoyed the video/music. You asked me if I let my cats out and I said no because any stray orders that roam around don't live that long? Too many Dangerous animals to spiders! I've seen black and brown widow spider, poisonous toads,Panthers, alligators up to 12',rattle snakes and heard coyotes killing cats and dogs!
Hi Ray. I read a book once about a woman living in America (can't remember where?) and she had lots of cats. She lost quite a few of them each spring when all the baby rattlesnakes hatched - tiny but deadly. In the UK there is not much that will harm a cat apart from domestic dogs. Foxes could but generally tend to leave cats alone. Most other wild animals are either herbivores or too small to pose a serious threat to a cat.
@@NarrowboatJourneys That's good too hear! Enjoy the rest of the day!
Glad to see the batteries held out Phil, am enjoying your latest exploits.
It's lovely there. I miss UK very much.
Thanks Phil,
Been some near dam collapses here in the US as well, fortumately none up here (yet), in New England!
Wonderful scenery Phil, as always! Quite a few times we’ve heard you say “last time I was here twenty years ago” or something like that, and we wondered if you have ever considered writing a book about your life on the canals? It would make very interesting reading for many of your followers such as ourselves. Safe Cruising, take care!
Thank you. I might write a book one day but I have to concentrate on growing my channel before I will have the time to do that.
not entirely sure why I received a notification that there is a new video from 8 hrs back - when it is marked private haha
I've no idea? Probably a youtube glitch?
hi from naples florida
Hello there!
your@@NarrowboatJourneys
We have canals also, just not as good as yours. large birman cat by my side, godspeed man!
Very nice, thanks Phil. Are you heading south soon, for winter?
Not sure yet?
Hi Phil, great video and such a wonderful part of the country to explore. You mentioned your 30yrs ‘service’ and I wonder if you are the longest dweller on the cut at the moment.I know people in marinas or long term moorings may have done longer, but you could be unique, perhaps someone knows?Regards T&M.
Thank you. I doubt that I am the longest afloat on the canals but certainly one of the longest I would think.
Narrowboat Journeys.Hi Phil, another contender could be an old couple on a pair of boats, the man is on a vintage boat,’Foxglove’ and the lady is on,’Juspidisprous’.I’ve spelt that badly.
Regards T&M.
I have missed you where have you been I hope all is well
I haven't been anywhere? Still churning out the cruising videos...
Great video once again. Just a question Phil if I may, on the swing bridge at the start there was a chain on the towpath end of the bridge that hangs in the water. Is this there to help single handed boaters like yourself to pull the bridge closed when passing through or is it there for another reason?
Thank you. There's a public footpath over that bridge. If someone has left it open and you're on the wrong side you can pull the chain to close the bridge. Probably most walkers won't know that though as the chains are not marked or easy to see.
Are there many marinas on the canal system that do not have a pound of their own? That must be a busy place in the summer.
I don't know how many? It seems to me that the majority of marina boats rarely leave the marina. That canal is not particularly busy but hard to say in a covid year?
Will you be going down the canal in London called little Venice?
No I'm afraid not. I avoid cities wherever possible.
