This EP is just spirit crushing, melancholic, beautiful - listening on repeat for days now.
I wish this EP was longer, it is so good.
Invent animate are criminally underrated
The ending of As If It Never Was is an absolute masterpiece, hands down my favourite track of the year.
Knowing that the ep as a whole is about battling addiction and then paired with the video just made this whole thing such an incredible emotional ride. Some of their best work
I feel spoiled right now. Spiritbox, IA and Sleep Token releasing (their best music to date imo) within a week

love the new Sleep Token. it didn’t top Sundowning, but it doesn’t have to, that’s a very high milestone to reach
The only band that impressed me more than Invent Animate last year was Loathe, and again they produce an absolut masterpiece.

I couldn't agree more about that one breakdown sounding like Currents. That was the first thing I thought of when it hit.
As If It Never Was is another step up from The Sun Sleeps. The ambience in the second track is soulhealing.

This is by far my EPOTY. You definitely need to go back and check out Stillworld and Everchanger. Stillworld is still my favorite by them but everything they do is gold
honestly a 10/10 for me. since the day it came out...still a weekly listen, along with their other stuff. what a phenomenal band
Something about this ep gives you an emotional impact with all the ambiance and puts you in a flow state. I got a bit emotional for how beautiful it sounds with all the ambiant and atmospheric sounds happening but that what’s make it good.
As If It Never Was is Song of the Year Imo
to me the video is a metaphor of the relationship between the moon and the sun. 'the sun sleeps' could be interpreted as the sun and its perspective with the moon. 'as if it was never' would be vice versa deduction from the lyrics. i love this band and this ep is soooo solid

Hands down best thing I've heard this year! Didn't expect anything less from IA, they are still so underrated but definitely one of the best bands that modern metal has to offer. Absolutely stunning, I love them so much

The Sun Sleeps is great, but As If It Never Was is truly special in my opinion. My favourite song of theirs so far in their entire discography.

Hell yeah man, love The Sun Sleeps, that riff slaps. Also, the ending breakdown of As It Never Was was ethereal, surreal, and just incredible. Mainly because of the high guitar tone just before it hits. Greyview and Stillworld are fantastic and those guitar notes are out of this world, but this EP just hits different, good different!
This is my EP/Single(?) of the year by far, so much work must’ve gone into this, absolutely incredible

I think this and Orbit Culture's new EP share the spotlight for the best EP this year for me, not to mention we got those two great EPs in two days! Invent Animate's EP is just beautiful, those riffs are so great, and for Orbit Culture, they already had one of my favorite song of 2021 in Flight of the Fireflies, but man oh man, Sailor's Tale is a wonderful song!
