    Wobble Bolts are a relatively cheap and easy way to run wheels that are different than your car's lug pattern.
    In this video, I will walk you through some of the other options to achieve lug pattern variation and give you the pros and cons of each.
    Where you can buy Wobble Bolts:

    Yes, that will work too. I don't know why people won't pay attention to the video. The bolts aren't just made for a 5x112 bolt pattern, you can use them for any other bolt pattern.

    Something you havent mentioned here is...it looks like youve got an alloy centric hub ring in the wheel youre showing here? hubcentric rings should be used alongside these wobble bolts to centralise the wheel on the hub since it is the hub which is supposed to take the weight and not the bolts. the bolts are for clamping only. Aluminium is preferable over the commonly available plastic types because lets face it...plastic is s##t isnt it.

    @SQUARESPOKES It was my mistake. I have a staggered set of rikens, 16x8's from a BMW and 16x9.5s from a corvette. After modifying the center mesh to fit the backspacing the wheels fit like a charm. But I am now wondering if the 16x8's will need wobble bolts since they are from a BMW and my Buick Grand National is a GM bolt pattern. I don't think I would need wobble bolts for the 16x9.5 since they are from a corvette (same GM bolt pattern). Thanks for your time.

    I never used them personally but have a ton of local Lexus guys run lorinser wheels on their car ...which are likely Mercedes bolt pattern . The VW guys half of them run works wheels and are 5x114.3 with wobble bolts . The VW and Audi guys are the most knowledgeable when it comes to nice wheels and wobble bolt . If you don't know try vwvortex and they can tell you...im kind of skeptical on this too but I have slot of info on this from the forum. I personally sold 2 set of work wheels to a few,members and they running fine on wobble bolts and nuts

    Quick question, ordered a set of wheels recently, my lug pattern is 5x112, the boxes all say 5x112 but the inside of the wheel says 5x120. I test fit them to see if they would go on to see if maybe it was a misprint, and they went on no problem(obviously i didnt run them) would a 5x120 typically even line up with a 5x112? I'm wondering if its just a mis print or what. And the company hasn't gotten back to me yet. Let me know what you think!

    • @BKSeoul
      @BKSeoul Před 7 lety +1

      No, wobble bolts only allow up to 2-3 mm of difference positive or negative.
      You would need to do adapters or a redrill. A redrill can run 1 to 2 hours of machinist labor which can vary between areas and companies. Best option would be to call around to local wheel repair shops and ask them pricing.

      Yes, wobble bolts would work for that. So long as you are running a hub centric ring if needed and torque the bolts to oem specs, you should be fine. Vibration tends to occur more without hub centric rings and or out of balance or out of round tires.

    A popular BMW lug pattern is 5x120. A popular GM lug pattern is 5x4.75 inches, or 5.120.7. The difference is big enough that there have been occasional failures and you can see the lugs dont center properly in the wheels. Obviously we are talking about aftermarket BMW wheels on American GT cars. The problem is we use regular lugs with nuts. Im having a hard time finding wobble lugs, do they exist? Are they safe? Are they NHRA legal? SCCA legal?

    • @NorwayVFX
      @NorwayVFX Před 5 lety

      You shouldn't feel anything. The hub is what is supposed to keep the wheel centered when mounting. If the hub of the wheel is bigger than that on the car you need to get plastic or aluminium rings that you fit on the hub.

  • @anti-vazinotanti-vaxi5859

    Did I miss the obvious here? Imagine - we have a 1 mm offset (radially). Imagine - I tighten the first bolt finger tight (wheel metal touching disc metal), then follow with the rest. Now I tighten them all - full whack. There WILL be a gap between wheel and disc for 4 bolt positions. Isn't a 'spoke' centraliser required? A misalignment horizontally, at the bolt radius (leaving slight gaps for 4 bolts) must magnify at the wheel outer radius. Would this not promote imbalance of the wheels?

    so you dont redrill drem as you can affect resale value , but you do open holes what make wheel unusable if they are put on correct bolt patter. best way how to fuck up balance of wheels and handling of car

    does this eliminate the use of hub centric rings?

    • @MPistol
      @MPistol Před 9 lety

      Exactly. Same question I have. Because once you introduce the hub centric rings the wheels won't wiggle around

    • @BKSeoul
      @BKSeoul Před 7 lety +1

      No. You would need both. Hub centric rings help to fill out the contact space between the oem hub and the wheel. This is what centers the wheel to avoid installing off center and creating elliptical motion versus circular motion as the wheel turns. Elliptical motion with its high and low points is one of the causes for vibration at high speed. The wobble or PCD variation bolts are designed to address the small 2mm discrepancy between between the wheel and the hub to properly secure the wheel to the hub laterally.

    • @BKSeoul
      @BKSeoul Před 7 lety

      Yes, wobble bolts would work.

  • @tkj4497

    So it would work the opposite way for rims that are 5x112 to a car that’s bolt pattern is 5x114.3
