Hi Lanier, Seth here from Olympia. (I changed my CZcams name a little while ago.) Some fragrances that I think are consistent with this theme are Guerlain Vetiver, Dana (nowadays) Monsieur Musk, and Proraso Red (sandalwood) aftershave.

Awesome perspective on a modern vibe as much as it is a hommage to yesteryear's gilded age of autocrats, tycoon Barons, and Dukes all of high class and societal standing and wealth. Some of your picks I know and others have escaped me. One I always feel I could be sporting as I might stroll along the Ritz with my tails and walking cane is Equipage by Hermes. So many great examples of what perhaps can be thought of as projecting certainly an obscene amount of money if not a bit demure and yes old! Thanks Lanier!!

I absolutely agree with Jicky choice for your old money list. I always watch people making lists with expensive fragrances that clearly have no history or tradition. Jicky from Guerlain represents a lot of the concept of old money.
Some excellent choices, I love Jicky and EdH. Vintage Miss Dior in the Eau de Cologne (usually bottles from the 60s and 70s) is still plentiful. It’s one of the great hidden unisex gems along with Diorella EDT (very close really to Eau Sauvage but with the ripe melon note added), old Chanel No 19 EDT (and old No 5 Eau de Cologne for the daring). Bandit from Robert Piguet and Cabochard by Gres are another two green leather chypres that wear unisex and very sophisticated. Both have somehow survived to today and both have recently been reformed and improved to overcome some of the IFRA restrictions that blighted some of the previous versions.
I have the Trufitt and Hill Trafalgar aftershave. I use it sparingly because it drives my wife wild. You’re pure class Lanier. You always bring calmness and warmth whenever I watch you. Keep the programmes coming!

So far my favorite and most wearable old money fragrances are Reflection 45, Interlude and Polo Blue Gold Blend. I don’t love talking about discontinued or impossible to access fragrances, but Davidoff Goodlife gave me that feeling growing up in the winter with a nice cable knit sweater or cashmere something or other on.
@@laniersmith1798 Gold blend is the most luxurious and sophisticated of the Blue flankers, far better than the EDT or EDP. Deep Blue is my favorite summer/day time one but imo smells too modern for the old money genre. Can’t forget about Ombré Leather parfum and Tuscan Leather as well! I’ve got Oud Wood on the way, super excited to wear that now that my Angels Share is out of season! Would you say Gris Charnel fits in the category? Or any gourmands that you know of?
