    I don't think EDT will ever go out-of-style. It's an easy reach fragrance that could be a signature for most of the year.

    Eau sauvage edt is pure perfection! Dry down smells like shaving foam with grated lemon zest on it topped with some vetiver.

    I love these kind of videos on the classics. I have both formulations of the Edt, old and new and in my opinion the smell pretty much the same. The old formulation is slightly more aromatic and slightly less citrusy. You can say that the new one smells a bit more modern. Just a bit. Looking forward to more of these videos Pep. A comparison between Eau sauvage edt and Pour Monsieur would be great!!

    Having worn the original in the early 80’s, it’s always been a love. The dry down for me is where it’s at. It shines when in Mediterranean climes and many will never get it.
    I also enjoy the 2012 and 2017 parfums, the former being my favourite. Lovely comparison.

    Very cool and original opening to the video. Blurry fade in. 👍Good review. The EDT remains my fav between the two. I can see what they were trying to add with the EDP but as a wear, the EDT has a timeless joy. The EDP tries too hard. The EDT is absolutely emblematic of the masculine of the last 60 years. Its not dated. Like Fahrenheit, it transcended its time and still evokes an elegant, clean, versatile masculinity.

    Good points you're taking out from both patches of today's. For the weakened longevity concerning nearly all latest editions of Dior (and all other design houses), I've found a sensible and most respective way to exceed the longevity of the scents. I use as a baselayer the neutral mix of Attar-oil and perfumers alcohol (50/50). The attar oil should respect the notes of the destinated juice sprayed on it as a second layer. Doing so will combine the notes of the destinated fragrance from the top to the base.

    Thanks for this comparison, Pep. I love them both for different reasons. When I discovered Eau Sauvage edt in the 80s I wore it exclusively and got rid of all my other fragrances. I thought I had found the holy grail. It's hot and humid in Texas 8mos out of the year...and then I found Eau Sauvage Extreme Concentrée (vintage). Ah the simpler times when I could commit to one perfume

      Hi Troy, i was just thinking about the various Eau Sauvage flankers outside the parfum versions and wondered if they had all been discontinued.

    • @troybradberry118
      @troybradberry118 Před rokem

      @@TheScentinel The Eau Sauvage Extreme is still available in Europe but not in the US. The reformulation is less citrus and more lavender and basil forward than the vintage Concentrée. Sadly I never got a chance to smell the Eau Sauvage Fraicheur Cuir or the 100% Glacon before they were discontinued
