Hey everyone and welcome back to another restoration! In todays video I'm restoring a 1960'sDuncan parking meter. Overall it was pretty worn but mechanically sound. Enjoy!

That was very pleasing to watch you restore that old parking meter . I remember too many times back in the day using one and putting coin into them. I sure do miss those meters and those days . Thank you for your showing and skill .
Interesting refurbishing project. Never seen the insides of a parking timer meter before... Thanks for posting it. Thumbs Up!
Wow ! Amazing Job. I always wondered how many items there was in one of these . Now I know it takes a lot of steps to clean an repair these parking meters. Thank you for sharing all this that was cool. Take care of you and yours. ❤️ ❤️
They're bad once you figure out how they work. What you didn't see in the video was hours of me assembling and disassembling because I put something on wrong or left out a part
Awesome job you did restoring that old parking meter it working order. It looks much better too. Great work.
Thanks 👍
Everytime I see one of these, all I can think of is the scene in "Cool Hand Luke" where he cuts a whole mess load off their poles.
What we have here is a failure to communicate! One of Paul Newman’s best in my opinion.
Have one just like in the movie
Quality job, well done.👍👍👍
Perfect restoration.....
Now I need my own laser etching machine! 🙂
I'm in love with mine
No kidding! That's the coolest thing since Betty White!
SHOW!
AMAZING JOB!
Awesome job!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️❤️
Verry nice..
Old is gold🌹❤️
Great job!
The stand is a great idea. Great for the bedroom for jokes with the wife that she has only what’s on the clock 😂
Very nice!
Is there a reason you changed the colors on the violation sign and the expired sign? Where did the police sign go?
It was easier to find the decals and I liked the color difference better. I left that off, the one that I had was in really bad shape and couldn't find a replacement
@@joe_diy thank you so much for the reply
So the Police MIGHT turn the meter🙂
Nice! I would have liked to have seen what you did to restore the glass/plexiglass.
Those can be bought off eBay, probably what he did
@@jackleger2414 🤔🤔🤔
@@restorerestoration4705 he even told someone else he bought the lens off eBay 🤔🤔🤔

Nice 👍
1960's parking meter? Astounding how well preserved it is! Back then they knew how to do robust things. Not like nowadays :(
I mean, maybe it was robust for a good reason...
❤maravilha ❤
Thanks for not using unnecessary lubricant!
Too many times it's used when not needed.
Amazing Job~! Very Goooooood~~~~~~~~~~~~~!
Awesome Awesome Video 👍👍 😀
Whenever you punch rivets out from behind on name plates, put a piece of hard polistirene (the pink one) under. The rivets will sink the foam, but the name plate won't deform or bend and will remain undamaged.
Good tip!
Polystyrene. ...
Muy buena Restauración y siempre cuidando los detalles. FELICIDADES. Saludos desde Barcelona Catalonia.
Thanks!
Great job! I'm working on one myself and I love the laser engraved parts. Can you make them available?
Your in violation!!! LOL Great work 👏 👍!!
Nice! I would have liked to have seen what you did to restore the glass/plexiglass. Or did you replace i?
I cheated and bought a new one
I need the glass. Where did you find youres?
@@gregwright392 ebay, ton of parts on there for these
I wonder if that is one of the ones cool hand Luke cut down with a pipe wrench.
En mi país todavía se usan estos viejos aparatos
Благодарность мастеру за отличную работу. Сделано с душой. Респект и уважение. Удачи на канале.🛠️📹👍🔥
I really like your video work, bro. Though there are some details you don't show. But you made it very smooth. Nice job buddy🍻🍻
Beautiful powder coat work! Did you clean that glass, or replace it? If you cleaned it, I would have liked to see it. Thanks for the video.
same for me :)
Thanks a lot
It was beautiful and joyful watching it
But it would be better if we could learn more for example how you polished the window?
thanks
Excellent work my friend but i sugested the nickel parts are clean ando bath the rest 👍🏻🇻🇪❤️ Say hello from Venezuela
At 26:24 I felt my life ticking away
25:48 Oh, good. Going traditional. :)
What type of paint setup is that? Mind adding details, either here or in the description? Results are super smooth.
Powdercoating. All prismatic powders. I did a primer, gold base, and a clear coat
Use it as a kitchen timer. ⏳
I didn’t see you refurbish the Perspex, did you just get a replacement?
Yes, cheated and bought a new one. The original was way too far gone
Did you refurbish the timer mechanism off camera? Or was it in good shape?
Just cleaned it
wondering why you never added police will not turn knob back on under the glass?
Do know when the yellow violation flag comes instead of the red time expired one?
Another one of your Better Than New restorations! Wow, that thing has a lot of parts! Where the heck do you find parts for it? Well done, my man! All you nee now is a ticket book and some suckers...
They made so many of the things that they're actually easy to get parts for. Now, figuring out the clock mechanism is another story...
Do the police now turn the handle?
It doesn't say they can't anymore!
Good looking restoration! There's a lot of people that like things like this as décor
Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up for the support of your channel
Print yourself up some tickets and put it at the end of your driveway LOL
What happen to the small sign that read "POLICE WILL NOT TURN HANDLE"?
I didn't have a decent one on hand and couldn't find a replacement
Somebody's gotta go back and get a schydtload a' dimes...
What a classic!
🤨⚠️ - that suction hole in your spray booth looks a bit too small to extract all of the powder ~ I could see some of it wafting out the sides, you need the size of a box fan with a furnace HEPA filter strapped to the back of it to get all of the powder dust 😉
Yeah it's not very effective. I'm going to rebuild it next year with a combination of box fans and filters in front of a vacuum chamber
I could watch an entire video of just sandblasting
12 minutes for a penny!!
How are you so fearless about everything and put the dirty clock works back in untouched? Also how did you get the words on the flags?
I actually cleaned the whole inside. Might be hard to see on camera but I removed a lot of dirt and grime. I didn't want to pull apart the timing mechanism and damage it. The letters were just decals
Привет ребята
These things were such ripoffs... no matter how many coins I put in, I never got a gumball.
Ha! This is gold!
Install it on your driveway. Charge 'em for blocking you in. Or charge your kid for Playstation time. Tell him he doesn't get the pocket money back until he's done his homework!
Dear sir,
you forgot to put the black strip,
( police will not turn the handle )
Check the video.
I think I'm old enough to have seen them but growing up we never went into the city
