Rusty 1959 Tonka Dragline Steam Shovel Restoration

- Hey everyone and welcome back to another restoration! In this video I am restoring a 1959 Tonka dragline. As you can see, there was quite a bit of rust. The original owner must have stored this thing at the bottom of the ocean! After some elbow grease and some orange powder I had it looking great again!

Fantastic work. It’s truly amazing the level of quality in these toys and I wish I still had mine! A suggestion when applying pressure sensitive stickers, if I may. Spray some water with a small amount of dish soap on the toy and the decal. This will allow you to place the decal correctly without having to resort to trial and error. Blot the excess water and when it dries, the decal will be set.
Real nice work, back in 1959 the cost of this toy was $4.98 dollars and the color was yellow, but anyway like I said real nice work.
I'm sure you did research on it, but that didn't seem to be connected properly.
But it's a beautiful restoration. Love the paint job.

Wow. I think that may hav been your crustiest candidate yet. Nice square knots at 12:00 , 12:40 , and 13:40!!! Very satisfying restoration. Never saw that Tonka toy before. Neat!!!
