- In this video i have given detail knowledge about growing bamboo plant from cutting, Propagate golden bamboo from cutting, Hello friends welcome to the gardener zone youtube channel , I am your host Love Bajwa, today I came to you with another interesting video, where we will leaern how to propagate a bamboo plant from cutting. Bamboos are from grass family ,from ancient times humans are using bamboos for building homes , making weapons, bamboo furniture and bamboo clothes from hundred of thousands of plants in this world Bamboo stands above the rest in terms of usefulness Bamboo is the most usefull plant in this whole world, The area of its useage is wider than any other species of trees, from ancient times human are using bamboo for constructing homes, making furniture, weapons, food etc. and now we are also making fabric from bamboo plants, this plant is the most oxizen producing plant , it produces 35 percent more oxygen then any other plant specie in this world, there are more than thousand species in the entire world but only 138 species are grown in india Bamboo look like a tree but its considered as a grass. Becides this bamboo beutifies our garden, we can make hedges with the help of bamboo, we can use it in many ways, like we use bamboo straws instead of plastic straws, you will also find a way to use it when you grow it in your own garden so because of its usefulness, you must have a bamboo plant in your garden. You don’t have to buy it because I am going to tell yuu how you can grow bamboo from a small cutting, so lets start Just cut a hardwood cutting just below the shooting node, cut the upper side of the node too, now we have to prepare our pot where we are going to, , I am going to grow this in thios empty sand bag, so we will fill this with our potting mix, we are using 70 % normal garden soil and 30% decomposed cow dung manure, Bamboo has its own anty bacterial properties so we do not need any pesticide, now we have to lay down it and cover it properly, the new shoot must be on upper side, now water it gently, we are done now, now we have to keep it in a shady place for 3.-40 days and then we can put it in direct sunlight, do not forget to water it twice a week and soon we will see some new growth on it, if you face any problem during planting please comment below, if you found this video informative, please like it and please subscribe my channel

Awesome....bamboo is a miracle plant!
Well done. I was looking for a relatively easy alternative to buying expensive bamboo from the nursery and sustaining a grove that I am cultivating, and you video is the best! Thank You!
So nice of you, thank you
Cool
The tunes and the sub-continent accent are so chill. Good job.

Simple way to propagate bamboo. Thank you for sharing this tips to us. We will try to do it.
When is the best time to take bamboo cuttings? I would like to plant more bamboo this fall but I do not know if new bamboo cuttings will root and survive the winter.
Nice one
Great video thankyou:)
AMAZING 👏
👍🏼🙏🏼 I live in downstairs apartment on a budget. This was perfect I’m trying for privacy n getting big cuttings from neighbor.

Excellent!!!!!!!
Sir thanks for giving this useful information 💁♀️
So nice of you, thank you
Hi! I just my bamboo and I wanted to transfer it to a cement pot. Question is, after repotting where should I place my newly repotted bamboo? And how long should I let it stay there. Thank you so much! Hope to hear from you. Very helpful videos you have in your channel.
hello Mea Trinided thanks for watching my video. whenever you repot any plant you have to keep it away from direct sunlight. for bamboos you can wait 30 - 45 days ( whenever new growth starts)
I noticed that you placed the cutting at an angle in the soil, rather vertical upright
Is this important
doesn't matter much, save plant from wind
Thanks! I have plenty around my yard and wanted to start more to build a hedge.
good luck. go for it
Thank you, I'll do that with my bamboo ☺
Thanks brother 😄😊
Thanks for the info, I live in Australia and love bamboo, I have 13 species with 5 being the timber varieties and all clumping bamboos. Will this method work on clumping bamboos ? also I have bamboo mite on my Himalayan blue bamboo how would you treat this? Thanks again very helpful

The wallpaper at 0:27 is it a clumper or runner...becuz i want to have a backyard that looks just like that.
Thanks for simplifying the method of propagating bamboos. I just want to know, what age plants are suitable for cutting? Does it have anything to do with the thickness of cutting? What if rooting hormone is added?
Thank you - very helpful
You're welcome!
it is very nice of u to share ur experience&knowledge with us. can we on a large scale do?
Sory for replying late
Yes we easily can
And thank you very much for your lovely compliment.
Your comments encouraged me
It’s not an “empty sandbag”..... what’s in it??? would be helpful to know
check the comments. he stated it to a comment to Ryan. "propogation needs mosture retaining soil so if you want good results you can use coco peat. otherwise normal garden soil is good enough."
Thank you
"water it gently" proceed to drown the plant x)
Just kidding, thanks for the video I will try to propagate some of my neighbor's bamboos to make a hedge. I already bought some euonymus japonicus but they will produce some toxic berries later on their development and I don't want my kids to confound them with edible berries and get sick. Bamboo is a much safer (but way pricier in my country) option, so propagating is the way.
Thanks again!
good job...
thank you
Hello! What type of potting mix was used? Does it matter? I have a mixture of peat moss and topsoil that I was planning on using with my cuttings... do you think this will work?
this will work great, i have used normal garden soil but what you are doing will help your plant to root quickly
Did the original leaves from the branch die off? After you planted it in the bag, did those leaves die off and then grow new ones?
Nice
Thanks

When to plant this on the farm land???
Stem is so thick will they really roots just like this?
Its a grass though, calling it a plant is too generic. But good video.
I have a bamboo plant on each stem I have at least 5-6 sprouted stems … can each be replanted into saplings?
Do you need to rooting hormone for this? Does it help?
Also which species of bamboo is this? Thanks!
i havent applied, in mansoon season bamboo cutting can grow without rooting hormone, but u can apply for extra cautions
i saw on tiktok someone using honey as a rooting hormone.
Nice video. Can we do the same with other species of bamboos too?
Yes we can, and thank you for appreciation
Dear brother, any age of bamboo branch use for cutting?
can bamboo be kept inside home without under direct sunlight
I bought a bamboo cutting. It came in with only one node. I thought the roots and branch of leaves grow from nodes. With only one node, should I plant it on its side?
Will fish pole bamboo propagate in the same way may I ask ?
Soil is?
Which Bamboo species is this?
Ye process Kaun se month me Karani hai? Ya kabhi bhi kar sakte hai?
barish ke mausam me
Can we grow it like this as a indoor plant?
Sry for replying late samina. Its an outdoor plant, but can be grown indoors near open sunny windows
@@thegardenerzone6686 Thanks
Super helpful! does bamboo propogating work best in a sandy soil?
propogation needs mosture retaining soil so if you want good results you can use coco peat. otherwise normal garden soil is good enough.
Hi....can I use a little tender shoot ? A greener one ? Pls reply asap
it is advised to use a hard one. the little ones or soft ones have less chances to survive
Growing from cutting will grow tree faster or growing from seed will grow tree faster?? And how much time it will take to grow tree??
for quick ready plants, go for cutting method
Is this method applicable for other type of bamboo too
yes you can apply on all bamboo species
Velcome to my jardens

I want to place the cut bamboo peice in water for long time. what willbe its impact?
you can use lucky bamboo in water. other bamboos will rot in water
@@thegardenerzone6686 technically "lucky" bamboo is a weed or so Im told.
My bamboo tree leaves are getting dry so give me any tiep
its because of seasons, now it will regrow new leaves
very helpful. thank you! why did u cut from the second node also? also , i have some baby bamboos which are growing which i can take out with the roots intact - would that be better than cuttings...?
that method call splittinh where you can split roots of a bamboo plant. this will also work. rest of the process will be same
*splitting
That's brilliant pal 👍👍
Can you take cuttings from young plants for this method...
Thanks in advance.
looks like you have heavy clay soils.
yes

Like to see the one that you planted in 7 to 8 months also know what you planted it in and also why you cut off the other node. Can’t see the original cutting on the second one and we didn’t get to see it before you put it in the ground so this is not very much proof to me or evidence of how well things went
I also don’t know how big the one you grew seven or eight months back was when it started so it’s not really showing us how well it works
Get to the point...
have some manners. its his video and he can direct it however he wants.
