- Come see what its like to race against some of the top climbers in North America at one of the toughest stage races in North America!
This is a video that I've been wanting to do of a while as it shows, more in depth, what it takes to be a great climber at this level in the US and what you don't see when browsing Strava segments.

Great explanation 👌
Great Video Matt. I've done Gila a number of times with the masters some years back. I recognized all those turns on the final climb.
Lol i saw all those power spikes and i was thinking "omg no.. This isn't even the climb" 😂 i definitely respect everyone for this
Well done, well done!
Great video. Some serious power you had to push out to stay near the front
Great job... Coming from another event, don't knock yourself too hard. Thanks for letting me experience your adrenaline 👍
Peggin it.. tough stuff.
“I can do that all day” lmao
Was the big crash a few years ago (2013?) caused by a dog? Is that that one you're referring to @2:56? I thought it was caused by touched wheels in UHC's train.
Yeah the one in 2016 I believe. It was because a dog ran out into the field on one of the downhills where we were doing like +50mph
The one that I wrote about in American Pro was the one where all hell broke loose and two Silber riders were medivac'd to Tucson. Hopefully you're not talking about that one because I didn't mention a dog as the cause. My Astellas riders were right behind UHC when it started. I used their account of it. I'd hate to have gotten it wrong. So I'm hoping they're two different crashes. (I just checked the book.It was 2014.) @@mattzimmer5470
@@JamieSmith-fz2mz yeah that was a different crash

I don't get the interest. Every time I see a climb I say "Oh Shit, not another climb", I like downhilling, Fast!
