I am glad that Pana overcame Maccabi in the end. Maccabi should not have been allowed to enter the competition in the first place. If the Russian teams were excluded, Maccabi should have got the same medicine. In the last match between Monaco and Fener; the game stopped for about 8 minutes or so. Why? No explanation was given. I remember the same stoppage incidents happening when teams played against CSKA in Moscow. That is the same trick planned probably by their Russian owner to take the steam out of the visiting team, if the visiting team is on fire. Fener was on steam at that point. Fener won against the referees as well. Mike James's trick for 3 pointer shot to get a call was bought by the referees after 3 minutes of watching the incident. That was nowhere near a 3-pointer call. Were the referees promised a bottle of perfume each from the Monaco owner during that period. How cheap they were. Monaco players were always falling on ground like apples from trees every time a Fener player touched them. They should have got technical fault calls for their theatrics. .

Great team, I'm sure they could have swept Barca or Monaco and Olympiakos would have very few chances against Maccabi, they were pretty lucky they played with the worst Barca of the last decade.
L.Brown is an unbelievable player and coach Katash is doing a great job, he clearly has been misjudged by Giannakopoulos cause he didn't give him the chance to coach with a proper roster.

Regarding referees: already during the regular season too many questionable calls happened. And everyone would hope that situation would improve during playoffs when everything is at stake and emotions are high. Nothing happened. So teams are justified complaining. If Eurolegue wants teams to deliver top product, it should also make available top referees.

Come on guys, this was an amazing basketball match. You can't have all matches go up to 180 points, or sth. Olympiakos and Barcelona played a heck of a match. Low-scoring indeed, but truly intense and physical.

I rooted for Monaco too, but Fener took it fair and square with Kalathes, despite worth it to pass, we cant complain about referees on this series..on the other hand Pao Maccabi and Barca Olympiakos matches were plagued with bad referees and calls in at least 3,4 matches..greeks were kinda stolen but at least passed..I hope we dont see favoritism for Real, all the teams are really close this year and its really pity bad referees take the spotlight and decide the winner..Amazing showing by Maccabi standing to Panathinaikos it was the team that made the step up. Pity to not see players like Juancho and Baldwin great weapons for either team but thats basketball..good luck to all teams lets hope to see amazing close fights!!
Dude there was an unbelieveable basket faul given to James in the middle of the court facing through to the bench just because he throw the ball to the basket also there was an another kickball decision which monaco player did first but refrees gave the ball to the monaco bcus after that ball hit to the Fener player's foot. Fenerbahçe literally lost the match against oly in İstanbul when 2-1 ahead. They didnt see sloukas' steps and Fener lost the series. So these things happens and I can assure that refree mistakes against to Fener are always more than its opponent all the time but mistakes happened in last mins or secs are seem more tragic and huge. All the Fener fans think this serie shouldnt even come to this point so what I mean is I dont agree with just mistake of Papa's position change the result of the game but I agree with we shouldnt focus on refrees. Refrees should be more careful tho EL should concern about it not us

Grimau needed to keep Ricky and Willy more than 20 and 15 min accordingly in the game and bench Jan. He basically handed over his arms. He coached like regular season where he should have closed the rotation around his MVP's. At the same time Bartzokas benched Alec and went 25+min with Pap, Mackissik, Milutunov, Petrusev, Goss, his MVP's.

Some say that, Ataman could be COTY but, let's talk another true - Sloukas was slightly injured in G4 vs Maccabi and Ataman used him normally on G5, because he doesn't trust Vildoza nor has other solutions. As a result, Sloukas was injured even more in the same spot he was injured in G4, yet the same he was injured middle-end of Jan 2024 and he was out of courts for almost 1.5 month. Right now, 3 days after G5 vs Maccabi, there is nothing new on Sloukas and there is danger for him and pao ahead, to miss the F4, the only experienced guard PAO has from such a tournament - would it be moral and ethical for Ataman to be a candidate for the COTY, since he set his player's health in danger and his team's next games, only because he chose to play with a very small squad of players? THE 33 minutes Wade played in this series, he drew 12 fouls during those minutes. WADE NOT Playing was huge for Pana. They sent 4 different guards to cover Lorenzo to get him tired, if Wade is playing that doesn't happen at all. Absolutely Pana had No guards that can cover Wade attacking the basket. It suck that he didn't play. If he his healthy Maccabi Wins better team with Wade.

In Lithuania a lot of journalists and fans don;t like him because they consider him not a true couch rather some arrogant man who isn;t a basketball mastermind but likes to talk loudly. But it is love or hate case - I love his rhetoric. Another thing, here everybody is obsessed with Russia, and if you say anything slightely positive on their side, you are an enemy, or, as they say here, "vata" (cotton), and even coined "Vataman" (because he said he is OK about Russian clubs playing in Euroleague). The same goes with Pao because of Giannakopoulos citing Putin, and so on.

Speaking of referee, what do you think of the 3 shots fouled call for Mike james? footballs from maonaco and monaco get balls twice, not counting the 3 point shot of Biberovic because of the referee wihistle.. And see how many time fener used foul shots... They helped monaco to close the rim and stop fener players to play inside as much as they want.. no foul calls just letting monaco do whatever it takes to stop fener.. All fener tall players got fauls at first quarters very quick , but matujanis played with 4 fauls 20 min... Thats why Calathes used 10 3 points shot which never seen before.... About the final four teams , the one variable i am thinking is that the three clubs exept real allready are in a battle mode fight or die mentality . And they are battletested their skills against enemy teams with the same mentality . Real's road to the final 4 series was more like a sunday walk to the park against baskonia .
You can say that they are also more rested ,relaxed maybe with less injuries than the other teams but if we can say that for those caliber of players they have ,
Real players from now they will get in the mentality of do or die , while all the other players already have have 5 games under their belt doing that .

Without Baldwin Maccabi deflated during the games and that showed on the 4th periods. It seemed impossible to take such a hard series without Baldwin. All those games we saw the same breakdown in the end. It's unfortunate that injuries dictate playoff results, but it happens (even more so on the NBA)
