  • Mr. Rambo makes another appearance and In this video I explain the products and steps I use to clean my chain.
    I talk about the importance of using eye protection as well as keeping your work area covered to prevent staining on clean surfaces. I mention the importance of keeping the engine off while going through these steps.
    I go into detail explaining how I use Kerosene along with a grunge brush to clean the chain. I also try out a new scrub pad that was sent to me by Tom at Grease Ninja to review. I use an air compressor on the chain to dry out the O Rings before oiling. I use my Grease Ninja adapter to oil my chain and finish by showing the before and after photos of my chain.
    Disclaimer: I am not an expert, I am only giving my personal opinion on the use of the products I use and care of the chain that I have learned through my experience..

    just saw your many videos, your careful no doubt. I block my wheel same as you to spray. As a painting contractor, kerosene lubricates leather packings in my airless paint sprayer, good cleaning choice over gasoline . Put a big pan paint rollerpan tray insert under what your cleaning.
    For the vertical wheel gard cardboard, tape foil over it so it doesnt soak the cardboard.

    You've been the most reliable source I've seen on the hypermotard. Have you been able to track down a workshop manual for this bike?

      No, it would be nice. With time someone will probably download one.

    Agree that the Grease Ninja is great. I have one for my motorcycles and a smaller one for my bicycle. And kerosene is a great chain cleaner. I save pizza boxes so that I have cardboard to protect my garage floor and the bike's rear wheel from my chain cleaning and oiling escapades.

      Grease Ninja is really nice, I love how it keeps you from over spraying everything.
      Kerosene is awesome to clean the chain as well. Just make sure you cover your eyes and have a well ventilated area, not good to breath.
      Thanks for commenting, ride safe.

    Hi what size chain lubricator did you get
    Was going to order but unsure which size

    • @myhypermotard8351
      @myhypermotard8351  Před 3 lety

      I don’t remember the size , but it should be on the grease ninja web page .
      You can call and ask them as well.

    How often do you clean the chain
    Good work keep up the vids

    • @myhypermotard8351

      It really depends on how it looks. Generally about once every couple of months. It really depends on the conditions I ride in. Sometimes the chain doesn’t get very dirty and other times in just days it get really dirty. So I kind of just clean it as it begins to look dark.
      I do always lube it after every other ride.
      Thank you for commenting, hope this kind of answered your question.

    What's the chain size for the GreaseNinja?

    • @myhypermotard8351
      @myhypermotard8351  Před 3 lety

      Sorry I haven't had a chance to get back to you. The best thing is to go to the GreaseNinja site and check there since I don't remember the exact size.

    Where did you get that rear wheel stand?

    • @myhypermotard8351
      @myhypermotard8351  Před 4 lety

      I actually got mine on Offer Up. If you look on Craigslist, EBay and other places that sell used items , you will see them for good prices. I got mine for $60 off of someone that had it sitting in his garage, hardly used.

      If I'm not mistaken, that should be a pit bull stand. I have the same one.
