90% of content creators on the internet, not just tiktok, are nothing more than modern day snake oil salesman.
I legit got pissed off with SEVERAL CZcamsrs who were covering this story. I ended up UNSUBSCRIBING from several CZcamsrs that were click baiting the hell out of this story making it look like it was the 2011 Sony hack all over again (Spoiler: it was NOT, not even freaking close). I can understand making the first "Sony got hacked" video on the first day, but by day # 2 it became VERY clear that this entire hack situation was one huge clown show, yet they continued with the sensationalism crap and hyped it up like everyone's credit card info & identities were going to get taken. I won't mention any names, but there are SEVERAL CZcamsrs I'm extremely disappointed with and if I can't trust them to deliver accurate info on something as important as this, how the hell can I trust them with anything else? I ended up unsubbing from SEVERAL of them because of this crap.
On a side note,
the news that was reporting that these "hackers" (more like scammers with noob abilities) were from other countries outside the U.S is FALSE. It STRONGLY appears that the group of scammers live in the United States (which makes sense since ALL of their texts on their sites and social media are in ENGLISH, not in any other language, and one article shows that one of their websites was coming from the United States). Wouldn't surprise me if I live next to one of the scammers (probably next door to me in his parents basement eating Cheetos right now). Anyway, end of rant. I need to finish Unsubscribing from several more CZcamsrs that make used car salesmen look honest in comparison.

For 1: there are several other countries in the world that speak English as their primary language; England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa + almost everyone in Europe is a fluent English speaker.
2: rightly or wrongly, it’s the universal language at this point. Lots of people learn English to conduct business, go to school, get a job, or engage with English media. There are also clear grammatical errors that only people who use English as a secondary language would make.
3. A website being hosted on a U.S. server doesn’t mean they are located in the US.
But I agree with you about the click baiting CZcamsrs.

It wasn't just the fact that they were speaking English (and the fact that one of their sites was discovered to be coming from within the United States), it was many of the things they were saying and the way they were saying it which STRONGLY indicates that they are in the United States. They are NOT from England, Ireland, Australia, etc, etc. They STRONGLY appear to be American. As someone who is American and has been to several other countries, I can strongly assure you that these scammers are American. A lot of CZcamsrs are reporting that these guys are Russian. They 100% aren't Russian, they are in the U.S.

@@MrCatnip11 Weren't you insinuating that those "weird $100 charges" were attempts to steal it from your card, caused by a PSN hack? Since this video seems to deny that was possible in this hack and I see no other mentions of it, I was just confirming if you can exclude other causes. My Ethernet was disconnected throughout all this time anyway, so I'm not really concerned anymore.

Appreciate a level-headed explanation. I doubted quickly when I read that the hacker group had only been active for a month. Add to the fact that such a small amount of data was released, I thought they may have hit a honeypot.

Anything you do with Microsoft uses that same account even windows 10 and 11 set-up requires your Microsoft account to use it properly. Now if any service at Microsoft Gets hacked then wouldn't your information be compromised across all services and devices.
With playstation you just have a Sony PlayStation account just for PlayStation that's it

Its actually happening though, my PSN account got hacked yesterday, they bought stuff, then changed my account sign in email so i can't change anything. Yesterday was the 28th and thats the date they said theyd release the info to bidders if the ransom wasnt paid. Shit sucks.

You know that's not how it works, right? The chances of them scraping the whole database and getting your email and password from a leak that doesn't touch Sony computer entertainment side is pretty damn low. You most likely gave your information to someone you thought you could trust if you actually have been hacked.
