Why is this SO underrated? He tore the house down AND maintained GREAT vocals whilst running around the stage! AND he STILL looks like he's having the TIME OF HIS LIFE!
He is 18, at an art high school, doing theater, with an amazing voice and almost no support from the Romanian organizers (TVR, the national state television). Because...budget , 0 professionalism and complete lack of interest. So he did everything himself, pesonal tastes are subjective and debatable. Even the official video was produced and directed by him, with no financing. So what are we talking about, what production value?! Yes, the staging can and should be improved (for his own good, I hope he manages to convince TVR to act professionally). But I don't get all the negativity towards this entry, the song is not bad, the overall composition pretty good and quite catchy even though we have no clue what he's singing about, and his voice is amazing. Cheap nudity, "familiy friendly" show. But of course, we are all pudics and moralists now. I did not see these strong reactions last year for Spain, Romania, or this year's Poland. Humans and hypocrisy, we make the perfect symbiosis!

I've seen lot of comments about the staging ! I know theodor personally and he told me how it should of went. The romanian eurovion staff were super unprofessional and did a shitty lighting and backround video aldo theodor had told them any times what he wanted. those stairs should of been a throne and many other things. when he was presented the lighting stagind and backround , it was shown to him an hour before the moment starded. and funny story theodor actually went to the staff by himself nad just did the backgorund and lighting HIMSELF the best he could in matters of minutes :)). He didnt have much oportunity he made the best with what he could. HE HAS BIG PLANS FOR LIVERPOOL AND I CAN'T WAIT FOR YOU TO SEE WHAT HE HAS PLANNED !! I can't say anything yet but it will be amazing
Știm cu toții cum este TVR-ul însă nu ei le-au îmbrăcat așa pe fete, nu i-au dezbrăcat ei pe scenă, etc. Nu s-a uitat nimeni la modelul scaunelor. Asta e, a încercat ceva, nu a funcționat, să-și învețe lecția și să-și facă bine temele pentru ce va urma. E clar că trebuie ceva minimalist și potrivit vârstei lui. Contează foarte mult și conexiunea cu publicul, străinii nu gustă deloc declarațiile "am venit ca să câștig".

Așa au spus și cei de la The Humans, că pe ei nu îi interesează ce spun oamenii despre actul lor artistic, uitând că pentru acei oameni cântă și acei oameni vor vota. Nu cred că renunțarea la niște manechine sau la niște dansatoare dezbrăcate înseamnă sacrificarea actului artistic. Dacă publicul spune că melodia are un impact mult mai mare asupra lor într-un cadru minimalist de ce să te sabotezi singur? Nu asta contează, impactul și emoția transmisă? Un alt aspect este că el se duce la acest concurs să reprezinte Romania, totul va fi plătit din banii românilor. Când îți sponsorizezi singur un spectacol poți spune că nu te interesează ce spune publicul și îți e indiferent dacă vinzi 2 bilete sau 500, îți asumi pe banii tăi.

Very interesting narrative, he starts the song as a stereotypical innocent nerd student, then visualises his thoughts on stage showing his actual self. DGT is a play on the word “fingers”, and as the lyrics suggest, his life is like a marionette controlled by a puppeteer. Genius entry, good luck Romania 💙💛❤️

I don’t keep up with Eurovision much these days. But this was one of the first songs from the 2023 edition that really caught my attention very recently.
I was doing some chores, so I played this in the background. And I remembered the moment the dude began with a soft-spoken buildup, to belting out with a rough edge, made me stop what I was doing completely.
Personally the staging was average To me. But this has got such a catchy hook to it. And I don’t even know a lick of Romanian.

It's not "leftists don't like it cause it's straight" this is eurovision not a nightclub or an artist tour, there's supposed to be flair and dramatism, flamboyance, an explosion of glitter and colour, or fashion that attracts your eyes, accompanying the song. We don't like it because they're not going over the top with spectacle, symbolism or interesting and fun styling. Go look at previous eurovision years and learn please.

While the choreography isn’t my favorite and I’m kinda tired of the high heel sexy femdom aesthetic (though I will give him credit that at least he got creative with the mesh shirt and isn’t just standing on the stage while the girls do all the dancing), it also *fits* the song. “She’s got me wrapped around her finger, she leaves the bed empty (after we’ve slept together)”, that’s literally what the song is about. Girl sexy. Like it or not, the staging matches the song very well

But unfortunately we aligned ourselves with the PC (politically correct) current and sent him there only on the basis that he is homosexual. So the song doesn't matter, it seems! I know many dislikes have come because of the controversial staging, but I think Romania has never sent such a "punk rock" (or pop rock or anything else that the keyboard specialists say, lol 😁) song until now, at least that's how I describe it...

Maybe if there was not the naked women you wouldn't interested in this performance. That is a big problem, because the show (symbolic only a competition) is about the singing/musical performance, and the things like erotic women is a strategy to attire some categories of public. Maybe this could have a success for instant for the show only but this can damage the represented country in the long period of time.

Sounds great... It's really good. At 18, it would be nice if all young people had this confidence - but for this they need less criticism and more support from "adults"... It's easy to criticize from behind the screen.
I was shaking from happiness when the presenter announced him as the winner. We have a shot at at least qualifying this year, but I really believe we could even win with Theodor. I think he's a great singer, the song is awesome, I love that it has some Romanian and some English lyrics in it as well and he's also a great dancer (and actor) and I love his personality. Good luck man, make us proud.
