LOADING STUBBORN LIVESTOCK IN A TRAILER

- As an Amazon Influencer, I earn from qualifying purchases. Sometimes stubborn livestock just WON'T go in a trailer. THIS is how I get them loaded. Whether you're going to the sale-barn or to the butcher, sometimes you HAVE to move livestock from Point-A to Point-B. I've used this method many times for loading livestock that was just too stubborn to get into a trailer.
It has worked for me... Maybe it can work for YOU!

This level of compassion for the animals well being is commendable.
we had a 800 lbs brahma steer that my girl friend had turn into a pet the steer balked when getting into the trailer my girlfriend was crying the steer had tears in it's eyes we had a rope around it neck pulling and pushing from behind. it was a sight to see. the moral of the story is don't name your food lol
I had an uncle that bought a calf to fatten and butcher. Every day he would go see the little guy, lean over the fence and say "Hello, Hamburg. How are you today?" and then scratch his forehead with his snub-nosed .44 magnum.
I named one "Hamburger" a few years ago myself
My Father used to tell me and my 4 brothers "You should never name something you might have to kill. Now go get me a Pepsi, #4". Hahahahaa
I just saw this and laughed my butt off... so did my wife.
Got to remember THIS !

FIL used the same trick with all his cows.
That grate on the ramp looks like it would freak out livestock. A sheet of plywood would prolly make it less stressfull.
Probably true for some things, but sheep are climbers, so it didn't seem to scare them. Goats are even MORE climbers.
A friend borrowed it for a pig and he laid some plywood on it like you said.

Put a collar around the beast, then tie it to a trailer winch and haul the sucker in.
There are dogs that can help with that I think.
You bet... but I don't have one.

The animal is calm. You want it to be calm or you're eating a bunch of cordizonal hormones.
