Thanks for watching! Are you having more virtual meetings at work? What virtual meeting best practices will you be using? Cheers!
Just the right time to watch this today! Thanks for the tips to having successful virtual meetings!
It's amazing how quickly things are changing amidst COVID- 19. I hope these tips will be helpful moving forward as we navigate these changing days together. Stay safe and healthy and thanks for watching, cheers!
This is very timely. Most of my meetings have been virtual for the past few years but when everything is being forced into this space, we need to find more ways to keep these meetings as engaging as possible.
I couldn't agree more. If we stay organized and engaged then there is no reason why we all can't remain productive during these challenging times. Thanks for watching, cheers!
Yes testing if a video calling platform works before a meeting is so important! Having technical difficulties is annoying to everyone! Thanks for sharing.
Making sure you have a great virtual meeting starts with making sure everything is in working order and a time saver in the long run as well. Thanks for watching, cheers!
Being in the corporate world, I've been meeting virtually for some time now. I love the fact everyone is catching up and finding this a viable alternative.
It really is a great alternative, especially now and it's nice to see everyone still connecting "face to face" but still respecting social distancing:) Thanks for tuning in, cheers!
Great tips! When I worked for HP and IBM, my teams were spread across the globe so I got really good at remote meetings!
It’s fantastic how we can all stay connected and remain productive. Thanks for watching! Cheers!
I am part of a team of developers who are primarily introverts. Turning the video on ends up being very distracting to most of the team :D I personally love it as an extrovert, but it helps to know the people we work with. What works for one group doesn't always work for another. The marketing team responds far better to meetings with video.
Hi, Jonathan thanks for your comment. I absolutely agree that introverts and extroverts have different ways of thinking and behaving. Having said that, since COVID we don’t have the luxury of connecting personally as we did in the past and the only way now is virtually. I feel that having the video on is critical for connectivity. With an extrovert it’s easy to tell by their conversation and tone of voice if they are in agreement with plans, solutions etc, but not so easy with introverts. That’s why having the video on is so important. This allows the facilitator to read facial expressions, body language speaks volumes. It also really forces everyone to be engaged and present when video is on and will ensure a successful meeting:) thanks so much for watching! Cheers!
Did you know that some countries specially in LA consider workplace harassment to mandate to turn on the video in meetings? And yes, agree with Jonathan I'm a introvert and yes this is very distracting. Thank you for considering us!
Hi Adriana, thank you very much for all these useful tips. I will have run a training the coming week. Your videos are coming right on time.
That's fantastic and so glad that these tips will be useful. It's so important to stay connected and no reason why training can't continue virtually. Stay tuned as I will have a video coming out shortly on how to do team building activities virtually:) Cheers!
Thanks for these tips on running virtual meetings. I personally have been on many virtual meetings which were just teleconferencing and I don't think you get the participation or engagement that you do if you are using video...so great tip to make turning on the video mandatory.
Thank goodness we have the technology to have virtual meetings, especially considering the current events. It's nice to see faces since people are now working from home. Thanks for watching, cheers!
Great timing with this topic. This is something everyone needs to pay attention to.
Running successful virtual meetings will keep everyone as productive as possible right now. It's great to actually be able to see your coworkers even if everyone is working remotely. Thanks for watching, cheers!
Super timely advice on running a virtual meeting! Thanks for sharing!! ❤
Thank you! Many people already use virtual meetings but now more than ever. Thanks for watching, cheers!

Absolutely!!!!
Hello Adriana, it's very helpful. Thank you so much .
Yes! Testing technology usually doesn't happen until it's time to go live.
So true! It can make a virtual meeting a little longer then expected when team members can’t connect right away. Thanks for watching, cheers!

Great video on virtual meetings. I like the tip on making video mandatory, I think helps with better concentration and engaging.
it is a must, but you cant force the people.... unfortunately
It really helps when the video is on and everyone can ready each others body language. Virtual meetings will be more important than ever at the moment and it will help everyone stay connected. Cheers!
Yes, very true but it does make for a more productive meeting. Cheers!
Thank you very much mam😊for these important tips 🌸
You’re welcome 😊 Thanks for watching, cheers!
Thanks for all those tips, they were gr8! Jmm I agree with them all, except for the turn-on video from my students (university), I am the one who turn-on the video, I do not push them to do it, so they are more relaxed, they do not need to think about clothes, space, light and so on... The good thing, is that I prepare activities in order to all of them to participate (they all talk, participate :D ). I hate too when I am requested to turn-on my video when I am attending a meeting in which I am not the host. It simply is not needed.
Thanks so much for watching and for your feedback. Love that you prepare activities to get your students engaged! Wishing you and your students a successful school year. Cheers!
Great practices.
Thanks, Ali. In times like these technology becomes more important than ever. Cheers!
Nice and informative thanks
You are very welcome. Happy to hear this video was of value to you. Cheers!
So so so important this time!!!!! I am a little lost with all the tech!
If your new to some of the tech out there it can seem a little daunting, but once you have used it a few times it's a piece of cake:) Take care and thanks for watching, cheers!

Stephanie, that is amazing! It's great to see we are all trying to move forward with some form of normality during this time, and positive news like this is just fantastic! Cheers!
i cracked up when you said not turning on the video is like meeting in a dark room (damn right 😂)
Lol! Fantastic! Thanks so much for watching, cheers!
Virtual meetings are indeed more important than ever. It does suck when tech isn’t working!
Thank goodness for technology! Virtual meetings will probable become the norm for those that can work at home over the next while. Thanks for tuning in, cheers!

How do I politely tell someone to stop interrupting others during a meeting?
That's a tough one but the person being interrupted should say something if that is bothering them.
I have public fear even though it’s virtual..please help me how to start and end keeping that energy
Sometimes these things just take time. With each meeting it will get easier. Take some time for self care and to boost your confidence. Cheers!

Thank you. Cheers!
I often times wondered? What does online fellowship have to offer other than leaving comments? Vs attending a church building where people interact with you and conversate with you?
Hi Kevin, thanks for your question. Since this video is about virtual meetings in the business place it’s hard to comment on the difference between fellowship online vs being in the church building. I think this has been a difficult time to navigate with COVID Businesses and the church have done their best to keep people in touch. Hopefully as time goes by things will slowly get back to the normal we used to know. Thanks for watching, cheers.
@@AdrianaGirdler you're very welcome I enjoy learning new things. 🙂
👍
Thanks for watching, cheers!
I would argue that making chit-chat for large meetings can sometime be difficult. Most of the folks i will be facilitating to don't really know me, and I don't know them. I've been on calls with colleagues who too are trying to include 'chatter' but most times they do not result in responses from the audience, and it just results in crickets.. I understand my colleague is trying to lighten things, so maybe for 'self-satisfaction' it is a good idea to chit-chat.. Can you recommend any specific chit-chat??
Thanks Scott for your question. I agree with you that chit-chatting in virtual meetings is difficult. As per the video (5:08) I was describing live meetings when people have the ability to chit chat with others prior to the meeting starting and how it is difficult to do this in virtual meeting. This is why you need more of a structure approach to ‘chit chatting’ which is ice breakers. A great ice breaker is 3 truths/1 lie. Check out my video Virtual Team Building Activities video for the instructions. It is a great replacement to the live meeting chit chatting. Let me know if you check it out and do it. Cheers!
As a feedback, I would keep the intro where you ask us to like, comment, subscribe etc. shorter
Thanks so much for your feedback. Any suggestions on how to shorten the intro at this point in the video would be welcomed 😊
Thanks for watching, cheers!
Adriana Girdler of course! I enjoyed the video and found it helpful. I feel like if you can keep the intro (where you ask to like, comment, subscribe) limited to 30 seconds and jump into the subject that could be better for the viewers 😊
first 2 minutes is all nonsense get to the point I have already switched off not listening to you spout on
I appreciate the feedback. Cheers
Absolutely time wasting video. Very unfortunate
