- The second-generation Lexus NX is here, and this time the Japanese firm's medium-sized luxury SUV comes with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain, a first for the company. The new model is badged the NX 450h+ - the plus denoting its plug-in status - and it lines up alongside a standard hybrid, the NX 350h, in a two-model range.

You are only the second review I've seen who agrees with electronic door locks. You also see the Lexus as a "how well you travel vehicle rather than how quickly you get there" I agree with you that 450h+ whilst more money is worth the extra.
We intend to keep ours for the next 10 years, so the other unmentioned bonus is their enviable reliablity.

I own this 450h+ F Sport same Atomic Silver However with the Sporty Circut Red and black interior.............Have 2800 miles on it 227 which are Gas....All the other miles are on Ultra Quiet Electric and VERY Quick acceleration...This car can only be bought in USA in California and None available for last three months......Re-Sale is through the roof...Plug in is the Only way to go and have the option of gas on long trip where the Motor also re-charges the battery and on battery can go 40 miles to 83 miles per hour on pure Quiet!

Very positive review, in fact I like the new electronic door lock, unlike Car Care Nuts and majority Reviewers blasted about this technology, if it saves lives, why not. I have compared 450h+ to Q5 (still Manual steering column adjustment), X3 30e and GLC300e both with raised boot floors. No wonder X3 phev was discontinued here now in Aus, anyway BMW and especially Merc will continue to update their interiors every year, making the car we bought soon looks old and dated. I ordered Platinum F Sport with Red Black interior. I think we all buy our cars using our hard earned money, we would like to see the technologies and most importantly the reliability. Great Review. Direct and to the point. Very relevant and relatable. Perhaps only addition which is common to other CZcams reviews is to test/demo 0-100kph claimed results from manufacture as sometimes these can be off. Not that this is a sports car, but Electric power and 300+hp should equate to a very fast pick up in speed if needed. Also with Lexus and there use of eCVT gearbox would be keen to get your views on this, coming from myself who drives a manual car and looking to move to automatic. Thanks so much.
Hi Stephen and thanks for your feedback. The NX lives up to its performance claims for sure. However, the gearbox will taking getting used to, especially if you're coming from a manual. Relaxed drivers will get on great with it, but those that push on a lot may not. Best thing I can suggest is that you get a test drive in a car before confirming an order. ^ Shane

…..Glad you LOVE this car...........I own the 2022 450h+ F sport..Note the Heads Up display on the windshield W/14” Crystal clear display on both, alone makes the Lexus better........Mine is In Atomic Silver Glows in the Sun Light with Lil" grey metal flake" and same Circut Red interior.. but with Electric battery...Has 306 Horse power 0 to 60 in 5.6 sec (Via Road and track at drag strip!.) This model DOES- NOT have a TURBO...But rather, a Naturally aspirated / Carb...........(important because it is well known that TURBOS stress engines)...simply said: see euro cars shop time!....this car combines the Elec Batt and engine to achieve *89 miles per Gallon in Hybred mode with HIGH torq, And VERY quick out of the hole...Jus' blew the doors off a 735i beemer...albeit for only a block ...( I am no dummy a V* will eventually pass many cars in the long dist. (in all fairness) ......However, who cares the thrill is initial take off and tickets are for high speed & SPEED...Kill's! My car has Red Calipers against Powder coated Gloss spoke Black mags and All red "F" Sport Badges........ FAR better built than euro's (mine built in Japan) sadly, new releases are now being made in Canada! Like USA Union shops...no one gets fired for a hang over and bad work??? maybe)..... However, Lexus is Far more reliable...Far better Re-Sale that Euro beemers or mercedes Check Engine Light Gucci headache) .......indeed mine has Gone UP in price...Not many cars you can find Like that!... IF YOU CAN FIND ONE ANYWHERE do grab it!......"econ 101".....Has (3) elec. motors gett'n 0 to 60 in 5.6 sec (road and track) HIGH torque QUICK out of Hole!......Never do I use gas..... gett'n 43 miles per 120 Volt charge (real world driving my experience.) and NEVER USE GAS....and almost Silent operation in elec....So do your research......as this is Far better than any European beemer or mercedes that are depreciating the moment you drive off the lot BIG TIME! And are un- reliable offering to say nothing of the GAS HOG unproven G 70, & RDX not worth mentioning. Z Best of the BEST F Sport 450h+ ! ….One more thing, Jus' a heads up!......My wife drives the RX 2020 model...Consider putting Michelins on your NX 450h+ F Sport......Far and away EVEN a much smoother ride Much better ride than the HARD Run Flat Bridgestones that come stock. Carry a Batt. quality inflator ( DeWalt 20V MAX Corded/Cordless Air Inflator ) and string tar impregnated rope insert-er and Do-Not wait for AAA.

Yesterday I did a test drive for a Lexus nx 450h in hybrid mode, and I was surprised that for the duration of the test the sound of the electric motors was annoying... Is this normal for the hybrid mode? Another thing I felt was that the suspension system is not quite as good as described in the videos because I I felt it concretely in the street potholes and light bumps. Besides in the volvo xc60 b5 mild hybrid test nothing of this felt no annoying sounds and good behaviour suspensions.
I really need your help what care should i buy. My hart tell me about lexus but volvo was better in test drive.
Go with the one you’ll be happiest with owning in the long term.
