      Kinda depends on which definition of musician you’re going with and even then it’s obviously not true across the board.
      If you mean that in the traditional sense, then yeah… a lot of rappers can’t play any instruments. But a lot of others can.
      If you mean just writing or performing music in any capacity, then all rappers are musicians.

    A lot of it has to do with their culture before getting into the industry. A lot of rappers come from that ghetto/gangbanger mentality where you're clowned on/looked down upon if you aren't a macho badass 24/7 and everything from glancing at someone to wearing the wrong color shoes is a sign of "disrespect"

      That may be the case today, but it ain’t always been. When the genre really started popping rappers were rapping about positivity and especially black pride. The major labels got together in 1991 and decided that was not good so they shifted the focus to sexism and violence. From then on rappers no longer controlled the narrative, the label executives did. Today the artist has more power, but if they sign to a label they get told what to rap about. I doubt you have heard any of this and think these rappers get to do whatever they want and it’s simply not true.

    I grew up around mostly black kids at school and was a decently funny kid. Then a bunch of other kids who wanted to be like the rappers were my friends. Instead of saying damn B your funny from about 4th grade and on I'd have everyone laughing we'd be having fun and it never fails they would start saying you stupid, you goofy, silly, crazy, anything but funny? It wasn't aggressive but when I said I'm not goofy I'm funny they acted like being complimentary was weak. Same with the rappers they copy and it makes for these toxic people,
