I'm sick of these idiots thinking they're so smart, but they're beyond stupid when they come online and try to defend stuff like Mumble Rap or any other crappy Rapper. Who else defends songs that are about a woman's wet or sweaty vagina? These fans are the reason why Rap music is garbage and why I pretty much hate Hip-Hop now.
PS: I'm NOT a Hip-Hop Head, nor is this a Hip-Hop channel despite the popular belief that I am!

    • @sekhmet7793
      @sekhmet7793 Pƙed 2 lety +1

I’m grateful for this video. I’m 44 years old. My kid is 17. Even though I’m divorced now, her father and I were happily married 6 years before my daughter was born (intentionally!) and several years after. She’s an excellent student. She’s a responsible kid, & she got accepted everywhere she applied to college. I doubled down on what my parents instilled in me.
      Now
I graduated in 1995. The teenagers who are hip hop fans out here right now
are the GRANDCHILDREN of the girls I went to high school with! These were the girls that made MY parents shake their heads and say shit like:
“I’m glad you got some sense!
I feel bad for that fast ass lil girl’s parents!
Poor thing. I know her daddy (mama) & he (she) wasn’t shit!”
A lot of girls were mad loose! “Good girls” like me and my friends were scarce but way more abundant than now! My friends and I weren’t angels, but we applied ourselves and we cared about real shit!
However, the teen moms I went to school with didn’t apply themselves. Instead and they were screwing out of both sides of their daisy dukes and failing and dropping out of school mad early. Some of them beat the odds and made something of themselves. Most did not!
The baby daddy’s wasn’t shit. Some thought they were. Some were young “thousandaires”because they were hustling. Now they’re either locked up or an ex con with limited prospects & didn’t do right by their kids. THOSE babies were growing up when I was finishing college and raising their OWN children by the time my kid was in elementary school!
Now THEIR babies are out here on the mic or idolizing those who are. See..the cycles of the parents is just repeating itself. Each generation just got Dumber and no one is trying to break this sad cycle. Like I said, a small few of the teen parents I went to school with beat the odds. However 90% DID NOT! Now THEY are still idiots, their kids are bigger idiots and their grandkids are completely LOST!
Some rappers talked about nonsense then! However there was so much more conscious music! Hip Hop had a voice! It was authentic, raw and gritty! Artists weren’t just playing on the mic. They were screaming pain and celebrating rising above their pain. They told stories we understood and could relate to. The lyrics actually MEANT something!
Now it’s just auto tuned TRASH! I can barely even understand these lyrics! What little I do understand is 2nd grade reading level nonsense!!! Lyricists used to be far more articulate and knowledgeable about the world.
I feel like my parents! They’d hear me listening to DMX, Meth& Red, the Locs, Outcast, Pac, Kim, Big, Snoop& Dre, Goodie Mob, Bone Thugs, Jigga so many I’m leaving a bunch out!!! They used to be like:
“All that cussin! I can’t even listen to that!”
My Mom and I were recently talking about the death of DMX and even SHE said, “I actually listened to some of those songs you used to play on his documentary and that young man was very troubled. He was just talented enough to make a living tellin y’all about it in a song” I couldn’t have said it better!!!
      In short
(lol to wrap the novel up!) hip hop is dead. Every now and then, an alumni steps back up to the mic to resurrect it. Other than that
it’s pretty doomed 😱

God trap and mumble is so bad, it hurts. Trap music either all sounds the same with the same beats and same flow regardless of the artist, people brag about how easy it is to put out a song in 10 minutes, and it goes viral somehow like people can't tell that there is no effort in it, but mumble rap is the worst off shoot of that. Where rappers there, don't even sound comprehensible at all. Half the time you don't know what the fuck they're saying or what their song is about, but its defenders then try to say its about the instrumental, despite it being trap which usually sounds all the same. I'm a new up and coming "Hip-Hop" artist whom agrees with you 100 percent!! I'm from the old school that helped start this amazing plus awesome genre and I must say I'm so disappointed with new rap artist!! I say the same about new rap videos as well just watching everyone standing around drinking and or smoking!! It seems to me that all you have to do today is degrade women, add money, add cars and some jewelry then the video gets 400 million views!! Trust I'm not hating cause they eating out here by doing this but like you said it's very lazy and such a slap in the face to the genre that I love so much!! I guess the best way to explain this is nowadays it's more about trap rap vs "Hip-Hop"!! I always tell people I'm not a rapper I'm a "Hip-Hop" artist that raps vs a rapper that does "Hip-Hop"!! The key word in all this is "ARTIST"!! Yes sure it's a market for trap rap but it's very few real artist in the rap game that believe in showmanship!! Last but not least it's the fans fault!! I say that to say if the new fans of rap are going to except drama, guns, girls, drugs, partying and weak lyrics behind dope beats and pay the new rap stars millions of dollars for standing around on stage and in videos that's exactly what they're gonna do!! It's not until the fans want more from the new rap stars is when they'll get more!! Again I'm not hating and or saying all new rap artist do this cause it's a lot of new very talented "Hip-Hop"/rap artist that I really like but the majority are getting away with doing next to nothing!! In conclusion if you want more from the rap genre you have to look for true "Hip-Hop" artists vs rappers!! With that being said keep an eye out for "PHILOSO-FIZZ" cause I believe in true showmanship and not cheating my fans out of their hard earned money!! When you come to my future shows that is exactly what you're gonna get is a "SHOW" that will leave you talking about it for years!! I'm a true believer that my fans can come to my shows to get turnt up, have fun and get lit while enjoying a quality show that's worth their money and or valuable time!! Last but not least not only will you hear dope beats in my music it will always also have cold lyrics that you can understand plus relate too!! Again I'm just one man talking and what works for me don't necessarily work for others so always do you and get it how you live while living life to the fullest!! Much luv and always catch your dreams!! "CUATRO" "TROS" đŸ’Ș😎✌✌

The reason I’m not as pissed off or resentful of hip-hop as you are I guess is because there are actually a few benefits to being a fan of and an artist within a genre with shallow competition, though I don’t entirely agree that said competition is nearly as shallow as you think. What’s great about rap is that all it takes is a dexterity with language and words to show your talents. As a person who doesn’t especially have “musical” talent (specifically with regards to making instrumentals in any genre), rap fits me like a glove.
I was born in 2000, so my taste in hip-hop is probably a little different from yours. I’ve got both of the Outkasts, method man (representing wu-tang, tho I really like a lot of other members’ solo stuff as well), kendrick, and eminem in my top five (probably in that approximate order). One look at this list could tell you I’m a young (... and white) guy. But I don’t think my taste in hip-hop is weak. I ain’t into that club banger shit either. I understand you included “mostly” in the title for a reason, but I just wanted to let you know that the genre is far from dead, and I honestly think it’s a shame you feel this way about it. Alas, you’re not alone.

My appreciation on music lean more on the creative side in music, not fast talking or lyrics.
I like the cleverness in the songwriting, the harmonic structure and the interaction of sounds. I also appreciate the craft in the production/the mix, the instrumentation/the arrangement/the layering, the chord progression, how the instruments and sounds are interacting with each other, the creativity and techniques of the songwriting, the modulation/mode uses in the music.
I like a lot of pop music. The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Burt Bacharach, Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Beth Gibbons, Tame Impala, Noel Gallagher, Pink Floyd, Depeche Mode, Primal Scream, Cut Copy, Bonobo, The Stone Roses, Daft Punk, Coldplay, Richard Rodgers, Tears for Fears, Oasis, Suede, Blur, Gorillaz, Kasabian, Ian Brown, John Lennon, Paul Weller, The Kinks, David Bowie, Jane Weaver, Rosin Murphy, The National, Massive Attack, Carpenters, Simon & Garfunkel, Paul McCartney, Little Dragon, Eagles, The Soundcarriers, Marvin Gaye, Miles Kane, Kula Shaker, Supergrass, Ladytron, Moby...and many more......
