"Wow, what the hell was that ?" 😆 Serious question here: do you ever face problems for having 20 frets only(as you bent one high note in this video) ? Do you find it sometimes limiting for not having that high E and beyond ? I am still playing my Yamaha RBX 4A2 with 24 frets and find it very useful. The last band I was in I had a bass intro with a hammer-on/pull-off between high D/E/D and that was absolutely necessary(at least for me) having those easily accessible extra frets/notes in that song. Ok, just one song but still I found out I couldn't do that on a Fender-type traditional neck. You are great !

Anthony great advice! Im generally so busy playing for the church I havent been learning riffs. Ive been learning scales and arpeggios. Ive been able to make my own riffs and even hear the melodies to songs while JUST playing scales. Its always exciting when im combining scales and I "hear" a song.

Shit. I'm trying to learn it now, and I've been playing for maybe around 9 months.
To be fair, I've slowly been working up my scales up to 100bpm, making sure they are PERFECTLY even before moving up the tick mark. Maybe I'm learning Teen Town slower than most (and not up to speed) but it keeps me motivated and practicing my technique more!
You could have any bass you want I'm sure. What is it about your Squire that you are sticking with it. Is it all original or do you ave any upgrades on it?
To be honest, if I connect with something, I tend to hold on to it. It's all stock except the bridge.

This might be an annoying question to ask, but when you say "have your scales and arpeggios down" What scales and arpeggios do you mean, with wich should I start with?
I would recommend starting with the major scale and building arpeggios from the 7 diatonic chords of the major scale. These shapes will carry over between keys, particularly once you understand roman numeral analysis for chords. Once you understand this, doing this for other scales becomes easier.
Exactly what Oggie V said. Major scale for the longest time, THEN move on to other scales. It actually lays itself out a lot better that way. Cheers!
