    ABOUT THE VIDEO
    _
In this video, I talk about becoming antifragile.
Becoming anti-fragile, a term coined by Nassim Nicholas Taleb, is the best way to grow and thrive under stressful circumstances. It’s the quality that allows us to turn stress into growth. And in this video, we’re going to learn the three qualities that make a person anti-fragile, two practices to help achieve those qualities, and the difference between being anti-fragile, robust, and fragile.

Antifragility = Making of a diamond
    Qualities:
    1. Facing possibility of failures (seeking hardships, discomfort, etc.)
    2. Prevention irreversible harm of failures (smart & calculated risks)
    3. Learning through failures (present failure = future success)
    Tool - Barbell technique:
Major percentage of conservative methods and minor percentage of calculated (smart) risky methods.

In weight lifting, you are guaranteed to fail, its critical for growth, failure is the key motivation in growth, adaptation, and survival. Being fragile means fearing failure and avoiding growth.
Good stuff to think about and grow on

I think the way we can protect ourselves from irreversible damage, especially in the face of personal perfectionism, or punitive conditioning around mistake making, is compassion. We have to learn to forgive ourselves for not meeting an expectation or standard and then, in a way, reach the third stage of learning.

    • @tylerl6942

@tylerl6942 this is really easy and I'd say natural to do (in the sense of automatic), in many situations. How can we open our hearts up to more kindness and forgiveness for ourselves?

Stress can either break us or make us stronger. To become antifragile, you have to accept and welcome the unknown. Doing this requires a shift in mindset, as well as a commitment to preparing our body and soul to face pressure with resilience. It may take some effort and hard work, but the pay offs can be huge

Failure to get 100,000 views isn't necessarily failure. Sometimes you want to do a thing for it's own sake, because it is quality. You inspired me with your video on the forward escape, so much that I made a computer language "Forscape" in honour of that principle. Hacking away at that language got me through some very dark times. I think part of anti-fragility is having a purpose beyond validation.

Yeah. It´s like going to a new kindergarten, new school, having a new girlfriend, having a new born baby, sitting on a new chair, going to a place you´ve never been before. The first experiences in our lives create our first moments of interaction and then you either go for something bigger than you are at the moment and you couldn´t imagine before or not. It´s like a new path that´s been set out before your own eyes. During your time you will learn what it takes to become successful and avoid what doesn´t work for you. I always thank my parents for raising me in antifragility because that´s what´s gotten me through. No matter how hard I felt on my face was always able to resolve new problems and rely on a new piece of mind which enabled me to move forward.

what happens when you lose your protection?

    •  Před rokem +3

Currently thinking about quitting my new job. It is very physically demanding. My fingers and wrists are swollen all the time and I can't even brush my teeth without pain. My whole body is just beyond messed up after a work day. I have no energy, will or much time to do anything other than sleep or lie down and it's never enough to really rest my body properly. I can quit and move on and I'm wondering if I should. Other than receiving the paycheck (minimum wage) in order to continue being alive, there's nothing good I can say about it. There is also a lot of psychological stress due to a colleague using every opportunity to raise his tone, answer questions with questions - portraying me stupid, belittling me etc without me having a real opportunity to say anything back. Not sure what to do either.

There was nothing about ethics or morality in this video 😂
Everyone is opportunist. Everyone serves own truth.
It only shows how to deal with a problem. It's more optimist realism - taking the best out of worst, growing with every step.
You can do it morally. In Christianity sense of good and evil free will sin is in your head anyway so it's subjective by default. It's the sense of humility that makes you moral and ethical hiding ego and tolerating other egie.
it's not being pessimist and hiding or standing still, it's doing what you can everyday with faith in being protected from heaven and given equal opportunities if keeping eyes ope.
      it's not giving up.
you can do it helping others being neutral or exploiting them so it's your choice how you will do it
also in this world if you never are exploitive then it means you ask to being asskicked and not seeing assskicking coming
if you can't be a bit evil at times you gonna loose to evil as you blind yourself to it's existence and it's ways
we accept everyone has a bit evil inside
we face own evil everyday and understand everyone has own demons
no need to judge others and yourself too much
      nothing is perfect
we just want it to be more good in final summary

    • @szymonbaranowski8184
      @szymonbaranowski8184 Před rokem +4

he says to get the best out of worst circumstances
adapt to whatever happens to you so next time you are more resilient to events
he doesn't say to do anything with structural burdens itself he accepts it coming constantly and just learning to deal with it
you assume many things without deeper thought and you see ideologies everywhere but never own right? 😂
you are born with individual and collective view you can't escape it
but you can always consider things from one or other side
He doesn't even understand what antifragility is...
he says to accept own failures but learning from own mistakes is bad advice, we want to learn from mistakes of others avoiding problems in general
or rather see them coming early
he believes in improvement in a loop, like training muscles or memorising
but in life you face different types of problems all the time, so if you learn to deal with one you are still volnurable to next and before problem repeats you may forgot solution to it or you may not keep up with problems coming
so it is a bit that fooling yourself with theoretical growth a placebo effect of accepting stress as good thing a psychological trick
which works as we totally are able to brain wash ourselves,
it may give enough relief to start thinking clearer and conscious
but it may also cause you fool yourself that's it's not so bad and stay stuck in toxic spot....
maybe that's the thing you really felt wrong about it here?
it's also different if you find outcome as failure because you think so or were told it's failure or you made objective research and then came to truth
things tend to have more that two sides often
any one dimensional thinking if set to fail
but we are great creatures that given enough feedback can figure stuff intuitively (except things are constructed around us to not let us do so)
