I look back at this now and still find it hard to believe that this man, Farrokh Bulsara, was so committed, so dedicated and incredibly talented to sing and perform live to such a standard, for so long. He knew no half-measures, a true master of his craft.

I have been in the music industry since 1984 and I have NEVER seen or known of anyone in the biz - frontman or otherwise - who wields anything CLOSE to that power. Sadly, we will never see another Freddie Mercury, for he was not of a "mould", or a "type". He was - truly - UNIQUE! And the entertainment world will forever be the poorer for it!

Queen was and I still think is the biggest band in Eastern Europe. In the 80's eastern europeens were not allowed to listen to music from the west and queen vinyl's were the most smuggled items into countries such as Russia,Hungaria and Bulgaria. Thanks to BBC radio russia, russians were able to to listen to this concert. I still remember as a little boy standing by my radio listening to this. My favourite memory was at the end when the commenter on the radio said in russian " Now here comes Freddie out on stage with a royal crown and a long robe looking like a true king", I remember trying to picture this in my head because this was so unheard of for us!!! Anyways seeing this years later on youtube reminded me of good times
