- Pretty funny they have to remind salesmen not to ignore pickup sales...
And dealers are starting to "hand over the keys" at Ford.... The customer likes the trust and no hassle sales approach... I think Ford was first to start doing this sales strategy. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
That was a sharp looking truck in it's day
As a proud owner of a 67 Ford F100, I approve!!
its the greatest man!
My uncle bought a 67 Ford F100. 6 cylinder stick shift. Very nice truck. My dad had a Chevy a year older. He never bought another Chevrolet after that.
'and it handles like a car... I've even had women tell me that..' 😂😂
The beginning of a great American institution....Ford the top-selling pickup truck
Man, I wish it was just that simple nowadays!!
Love the pics of the Stark Hickey dealership! They were one of the dealers that were big into Ford's factory racing effort back then. Funny now days to hear a guy say "I'm a car salesman" since these days Ford pretty much only sells trucks with the Mustang being the only actual car. If you don't consider SUV's to be cars, that is.
Yeah they kind of make him look to be a slacker... Where were you when we talked about this? :)
Probably one of the best training slide shows I've seen.
CMON no one's gonna buy a pickup! He's a "CAR" salesman :)
The 67 Ford and Chevy trucks were quite a change from the previous year's models. They both looked much more modern even if they were pretty much unchanged underneath. I think this is where Dodge really fell behind. They kept their basic 1964 style trucks clear through to 1971. When they finally released their all-new trucks in 72, Ford and Chevy again came out with new trucks the following year
I think Chrysler was just trying to survive...
My uncle has a 72 or 73 Dodge PU. He drove the hell out of it for 10 or 15 years.
I owned a 67' F100 Stepside 6' bed. 352 V8, C6 Trans and a 4:11 rear. Great fun tuff truck. Had it for over 10 years and only need 1 front end alignment in all those years. Had a mustang shifter mounted on the console and turbine mag rims at all 4 corners. This was back in the mid 70s and 80s.
The 67 F100 was a nice looking truck. So was the 67 Chevy C10 though. The competition in the truck market between the f-100 and the Chevy C series was spirited to say the least. LOL
He was disappointed when he wanted to tow a travel trailer and found out it had 2.71 rear end. 😂😂
I'm sure you could order a better rear diff :)
I once heard that only about 10% of car salespeople are any good. Over the years I think this is true. I really dislike salespeople that aren't interested in helping you or you know more about their vehicle than they do. Recently a dealership was not really interested in closing a mutual deal. They really wanted maximum profit. But i dont think they really cared cuz i guess somebody else will come along. A friend had the same experience.
Yeah sometimes you just find a guy who is like "what do you want"? Honestly, I really like a hands-off salesman... I'll find what I want. They try to gauge if your just window shopping, want to be left alone to look, or want to be involved. I mean if you look at it, a new car salesman is just a car attendant. He takes you to the finance guy once you see what you want...
It was a good looking truck but it sure didn't ride like a car
So true....My 67 Stepside didn't ride like a car. But it was a solid handling truck. My truck had no power steering and I had bigger size tires on it also that were bias ply.
@@matrox ack.. thats no fun... I am suprised I beam lived as long as it did.
@@autochronicles8667 That I-Beam was rugged. The reason why only 1 alignment in 10 years.
Wishful thinking LOL.
