If we're talking about in the MCU, I guess he's considered a Celestial but He shouldn't be Because I know in the comics he's not considered a celestial
In the comics he is a celestial (as in a cosmic entity) it's just not a Celestial (a specific race of cosmic entities). Lower case refers to all cosmic entities in the comic and uppercase refers to that specific race
The Ego of Knowhere Knowhere - a location built inside the skull of a decapitated Celestial - used to be Ego's form, the place where his massive brain/core used to be housed. In short: Knowhere itself is an Easter egg, as it is actually part of Ego.
Its also conceivably possible that his form is what he chose to be born as. When it comes to Celestials, they can change their being to grow/shrink. It is also conceivable that, they being super powerful god-like entities, would be able to transform their shape into a humanoid, or make themselves into a planet. They are essentially gods, they can be anything and nearly do anything.
I think Ego is just Ego. he calls himself a celestial since that's kind the closest thing he can find out about that resembles him. It's like a lone loon calling himself a duck because those were the only birds that kinda fit his description.
My theory is that he's actually the brain from the head of the celestial that is Knowhere. Just based off of the visual they used in Guardians of the Galaxy, where he's just a floating brain at first.

He's definitely a celestial in the comics, and is an extremely powerful one at that. No idea what they will do in the MCU though, since it's basically all noncannon
I think it’s far more likely that they just used the term without thinking about possible future titles. The careful planning and worldbuilding that marked phase 1 and 2 has gone completely down the tubes in phase 4
Before I even saw The Eternals, I always thought that Ego wasn't truly a celestial but he simply thought he was and no one really corrected him because of his powers. In the comics he is a celestial (as in a cosmic entity) it's just not a Celestial (a specific race of cosmic entities). Lower case refers to all cosmic entities in the comic and uppercase refers to that specific race
Yeah, all these theories and I'm just like: He's just a living planet like in the comics and lied about being a celestial because he has a big ego.
The Ego of Knowhere
Knowhere - a location built inside the skull of a decapitated Celestial - used to be Ego's form, the place where his massive brain/core used to be housed. In short: Knowhere itself is an Easter egg, as it is actually part of Ego.
@@TitanTerrastoya Nope it's literally the decapitated head of Celestials the race of Celestials like Arishem the Judge in the eternals.
@@theultimatenewplayer9341 you should reread what I commented last and edit your comment
Ego is an Elder of the Universe like the Grandmaster and Collecter.
Pretty good theory
I think the MCU is gonna make the Atlanteans evolved deviants. remember they always come from the ocean
Ego is said to be the missing infinity gem: ego, the living planet.
When Nemesis split, which created the infinity gems, her Ego became sentient.
What's an infinity gem
@@kirikiri44695infinity stone in comic
I think Ego is just Ego. he calls himself a celestial since that's kind the closest thing he can find out about that resembles him. It's like a lone loon calling himself a duck because those were the only birds that kinda fit his description.
If true, then maybe Peter Quill will once again wield immense power when he runs into a celestial and possibly is able to feed on its power.
My theory is that he's actually the brain from the head of the celestial that is Knowhere. Just based off of the visual they used in Guardians of the Galaxy, where he's just a floating brain at first.
Knowhere was started as a brain matter mining operation, nice try though.
@@benjaminradez2679 uhh, cool. I don't really care that much. Way to be a dick about it though. 👏 Bravo.
But to be even more clear, I was referring to what they have shown in the MCU already, not the comics. I know what happened in the comics. I'm theorizing about the MCU which is it's own continuity.
When you said "much worse than a Celestial" my thought was "...an Aspirant?"
I think hes the brain of knowhere. When knowhere got his head cut off, his brain was floating around. The brain developed into Ego.
I don't know too much about these parasites but can they harness the power of an infinity stone or even touch one? Because if this theory is true Star Lord is half of whatever he is. We believe because he was half celestial is the reason he can touch it without instantly disintegrating
They control and eat energy. His body was over eating to try and survive
But like, celestials are the ONLY beings we know to be wielders of greater power than infinity stones. This is something we KNOW though. The power stone is a planet-wiping tool of destruction, of which very few have been able to directly wield and live.

Look up Aspirant Celestials. There's more than one type of Celestial.
He's a living planet and so is his brother alter ego. They we're created by the stranger who is a cosmic entity.

You wasn’t lol
The reminder bell sometimes has a stutter and doesnt tell you for about 2 mins after uploading.
But.... EGO IS VAST AND POWERFUL..... 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
MatPat: What!?
CBR: Now I know that sounds bad…
What about a deviant who has absorbed so many eternals already through the eternity to become something above, almost like a pure energy life form capable of god levels of power, that explains why takes the form from the life forms from planet he is currently feeding from (like when a deviant absorb another life form and evolve with it)

I like his monologue about not wanting to be alone. That hinted he was too "deviant" from normal celestial, thus rejected from his tribe.
Another theory:
As someone else stated before, Ego is the Anterior Cingulate Cortex of Nowhere's brain (the part that is speculated to be center of consciousness) that was discarded, or escaped for unknown reasons.
I really thought this video has something to do with the first firmament... Lol
Idk man I mean he just popped into existence one day

Damn that’s crazy so if I explicitly say I’m god does that mean I am?
@@Real_Genji In your imagination, yes, just like the mCU is the writer’s imagination
That does make sense, the only problem is Ego I believe has appeared in the comics and cannon as a celestial. So even though this sounds like a good explanation as to why he’s different, it still goes against the comics and cannon. He is a celestial.
Mcu has gone against it multiple times
@@fantasyhq3553 that’s a good point but that’d be a big one. I figured if that was the case they would have eluded to it more. Who knows lol
Hes a celestial...like a celestial body. Like all planets. Where in the comics does it say he's a celestial? Can you cite one instance of it because I've never heard of it before the mcu.
In the comics he is not a celestial he is ego the living planet. He was a scientist whose conscience merged with a planet. Prove me wrong look it up dude you have the internet look it up and you will see you have no clue what your talking about.
Can we appreciate that the title isn't "Did you know I guardians of the galaxy vol 2"
Okay, but imagine, *"What If..."* shows us if Ego got to Peter, what if he consumed all the energy of the Celestial within Earth?
The Earth would be covered by Ego, sure, but the Events of the "Eternals" wouldn't happen//would've been delayed, right?...
Bruh why does this guy remind me of Fuse's broseidon skin from Apex Legends 😂
dude they say literaly 10 times in movie he is celestial
Yeah but it's part of the mcu. The creator themselves could say something matter of factly with people going around saying that it means something else and was left for interpretation
His name is ego...hes lying about being one of the most powerful beings in the universe. He could barely get a girl pregnant and got beat by a bomb set off by a tree. Meanwhile real celestial travel through black holes and destroy planets just being born.

That actually makes a lot of sense and checks out! Celestials are planet size, but we’ve never seen Ego go into his celestial form.
In the comics, Ego ***ISN’T*** a Celestial. And what’s more, he has a counterpart named (yep, you guessed it!) “Alter-Ego”!
If your character is portrayed by Kurt Russell, no one else will ever be like that character again. It’s Kurt. All you need to know. If we could turn charisma and confidence into energy, we would power the world off him on accident.
That....actually makes a LOT of sense.
That would make sense I think he was trying to impress his son
"...something much, much worse"
A CBR employee?
Well whatever he is, he has excellent taste in music
I feel like ego has nothing to do with celestials and he just called himself that having heard of the actual celestials. He was just trying to put a label on what he was without understanding what celestials really are.
Ego could also be like he was in the comics of being an evil celestial who only wants power and thusly tried stealing it from the young celestials
His a Chaos God from The Warp.
The Ego of Knowhere
Knowhere - a location built inside the skull of a decapitated Celestial - used to be Ego's form, the place where his massive brain/core used to be housed. In short: Knowhere itself is an Easter egg, as it is actually part of Ego.
I mean, I’m pretty sure these celestials don’t just hangout together, think about it, in eternals we get to see the massive size of an actual celestial, speaking of eternals what would happen if a deviant obsorbed a celestials powers, would he become something like ego
Perhaps he was the celestial from no where and after he seemingly died his brain left in tact and he only remembered his second life
He’s definitely a celestial…
A celestial BODY!!!
Here's a thought. The MCU isn't 616 no matter what they say, so it's an alternate universe and they can do whatever they want.
Sure he's a planet but with the company of a celestial, he's a dwarf.
I think he’s secretly Santa lol
Maybe he’s the alien from “The thing”🤷♂️🤔😅
What's even better is that would make star lord part of the horde as well
In the comics ego the living planet wasn't a celestial he was a man that merged with a dying star.
Thats actually a pretty good theory im impressed
Yeah maybe he's a shape shifting alien because I saw him in 'The Thing'
Juggernaut is a perfect example
He's a different type of celestial
I think Ego was just a Celestial Seed that fell out of Arishems pocket on day
He's definitely a celestial in the comics, and is an extremely powerful one at that. No idea what they will do in the MCU though, since it's basically all noncannon

I’ll get my coat.
This would be a good theory if comics didn’t exist
I think it’s far more likely that they just used the term without thinking about possible future titles. The careful planning and worldbuilding that marked phase 1 and 2 has gone completely down the tubes in phase 4
Dude I thought he was a wierd Celestial when he was introduced and I thought they where changing the Celestials but these makes much more sense
My theory is that ego was apart of Nowhere’s brain who gained independent sentience when nowhere was killed
If ego is a floating brain, then just put him in Knowhere skull 💀
I wish some fans were allowed to help with these movies. They would smash records.
Before I even saw The Eternals, I always thought that Ego wasn't truly a celestial but he simply thought he was and no one really corrected him because of his powers. Also, the head floating in space that became Knowhere was from a being that had a body before only being a head. Ego was at the most, a floating brain and never came from a body. I think that Ego at first started as some sort of intelligent mold or fungi and then formed his shape into a brain.
EGO is actually one of the Infinity Stones.
I wish Marvel would officially confirm this
I would have guessed he might be a beyonder
