You know what’s sad, the fact that she was Ego’s daughter but she probably did not possess the Celestial Powers he needed of her, but she was gifted with the power of Empathy that help him sleep. From a daughter to a slave, that’s gotta be one of the saddest untold stories of the MCU
First it's probably her species powers and 2nd not a worst path for a disposed child
And she had to witness her siblings get slaughtered en masse
Her ability to understand just how little he cared for her is the only thing that allowed her to survive.
But she survived and never lost that empathy.
@@ytsn_THE_OG I was just about to say this. Yeah worse than from daughter to slave is watching other siblings not just being slaughtered because they are useless to her father but also, I heard that he literally consumes them slowly to keep himself alive or fuel himself up, I don't know if its true or not. Like someone said those bones and skulls within the planet is like they are inside his belly, being eaten alive slowly...
President Thomas Jefferson fathered children with his slave Sally Hemings
He lost a mother
He lost a father
He lost a father figure
He lost a lover
He better not lose a sister
Hopefully his lover will come back one way or another
the sibling curse has entered the chat
and I'm so positive he died in the new trailer
because Nebula carried him in her arms as they are walking in the distance in Nowhere
I think it's safe to say that Star Lord won't suffer anymore but let's hope I'm wrong
because if I'm not
I'm going to cry
@@jordankrzywicki9412 She does. It’s in the trailer for the new guardians movie.
@@emilytucker1765 As Peter says, she came back a total d**k
I'm saying hopefully the Gamora he knows and loves will come back to him
@@jordankrzywicki9412 I never saw the movie where she died. Was their relationship on the rocks before she was killed?
Drax tossing Mantis over the gate is even more funny when you realize he could've just picked her up and jumped over with her
Also when they are chasing Kevin Bacon she can clearly jump that high herself anyway
Well done, you spotted the joke.
that's exactly what Mantis was thinking when he jumped over the gate
My very first thought
I mean she asked for it 😂
The best part of this reveal is that it finally gives Peter a connection to his past that isn't painful. Finding out his own father was a genocidal sociopath who condemned his mother to a slow death must have shaken him to his very core. But now, finding out there's one part of his background that isn't evil or regrettable? That's a hell of a gift, right there...
I can imagine he must be blaming his own existence for his mother's death. Quill's father gave his mother the tumor because he wanted to orphan Quill and then take him away so imagine doubting if maybe you shouldn't have been born in the first place and your mother would have been happy and alive if you hadn't. And then along comes someone else who can not only relate to the thought but understand you because their experience is EXACTLY the same as yours. Added bonus, they're your sibling. So yeah, that's literally the best gift anyone can ask for.
😂
Completely impressive to manage to mix such important and serious scenes with humor scenes throughout the films
AMEN, SO true!!!
Lmao marvel movies are trash
Its a testament to how well these characters have been developed. They can have a holiday special and it isnt cringe.
And you can't convince me that there was anyone else they could've chose that would be more perfect to do a Holiday Special than The Guardians!
@@GorlicBreadz agreed!
Eh. It was still pretty cringe xD
@@lowkeyimloki8741 apparently you never saw the Star Wars Christmas special. THAT was cringe to the 10th power!😅😅
@@jamesbrice6619we don't talk about that here. that wasn't just cringe. That was diabolical. xD
I like how nice and simple this scene was. No extra details or story bridges, just a moment of two siblings showing their love for each other.
I'm not crying....you're crying....
Yes..just a simple scene it make us satisfied because doesnt care what colour ur are or who u are where ur from sibling always love each other
Thank you for exactly summing up what happened.
You know, because I totally missed the entire video. Very good of you.
for starlord who ad this point lost all his family... this was a very heartwarming touch for him...
Good acting finally
That shocked the hell out of me
Can’t believe I never pieced that together. She was one of Ego’s kids too. And she had to witness all her siblings be eaten by that thing…
I’m happy she got a chance at a real family
It explains her pure strength too
Ego only kept her alive because of her abilities
HOW WAS I THE ONLY ONE WHO KNEW THIS, WE LITERALLY SAW A FEMALE OF HER SPECIES IN EGO'S STORY TELLING SHIT
@@seich-of-lacan-getter514 we didn’t pay attention
@@meurumtrain4747 bro I was shocked too so ego kept his daughter but didn't kill her
is no one going to talk about the moment at 2:15 when nebula receives her gift ?
she clearly wasn't expecting to receive anything & so had to confirm that it was actually for her
her face after opening it is just precious ~ she looks so happy🥺
She’s never received a gift before?
That’s sadder than realizing she and Rocket basically had similar tragic backstories; both were ripped apart and modified against their will, and both were made to do what they didn’t want too
As Nebula said, all she wanted was a sister
@@Epic11705 She's not used to have gifts because all her life, Thanos thinks the upgrades on her body are the best gifts he gave to her.
I cried when she was given that present!! I still do, every time I watch that
@@infinitygauntlet101 This was an amoral *monster* who thought that erasing roughly half the life from the universe was an act of benevolence, kindness. His moral compass had been run over by a bunch of tanks, if he even HAD such a thing.
Look how nervous she is about telling him, how she has to take a deep breath to calm herself, and how scared she is right after telling him, thinking that he might be horrified and reject her…
And then how happy she gets when he accepts and embraces her.
The Guardians are something special. The MCU won’t be the same without them.
And from what I understand, Mantis is an empath. So when she saw Peter's joy and heard his response she KNEW it was sincere, that he was TRULY HAPPY that she was his sister. Its beautiful. I'm glad they have each other.
and we are, sadly, on to their last volume. it might be the last marvel movie I'm looking forward to see in the cinemas
Yes my favorite of all marvel movies are the 2 guardians movies and the 3rd one I sure. Just sad it will be the last.
THAT'S acting. Right there!
Don’t worry silver surfer is probably going to be awesome
Drax's reaction to the elf is the most wholesome and adorable thing ever X'D
🤣🤣🤣 soon as I seen your comment the scene poped up
My favorite scene 😍
the spirit of his daughter is in him
literally he has the bliss of a little girl
Yes🥰🥰🥰
It was like watching the meme video of the guy getting the kinder egg
As heartwarming as this scene is it was probably the hardest scene Pom Klementieff filmed because her brother committed suicide on her 25th birthday so her tears in this scene are probably from thinking about him. I also read that her father died when she was 5 and her mother had Schizophrenia so she was raised by her aunt and uncle and then her uncle died when she was 18 so she's been through a lot yet she seems like a really nice person which is a testament to her strength of character.
Oh my god. She's such a nice person :( she liked my comment on Instagram about her in a post back when gotg2 just came out. Hope her aunt is still around and she has a found family
A very strong person irl. Always loved her.
Jesus Christ.
Holy moly
That's really messed up. I hope she's fine.
This is why these stories are so important. Because real people go through real trauma and need to see that it's okay to continue to grow and love and be happy
Honestly the way Pom Klementieff acted the scene from being nervous and scared to relieved and happy is a testament to good acting
AGREED!! They BOTH were SO good and believable in this Scene!!
She’s incredible
Right
“Merry Christmas, Mantis. Merry Christmas, Peter”
This scene 😭🥺🥺 beautiful
Crying❤️❤️❤️😭😭😭
Not going to lie...as someone who grew up their whole life knowing I was adopted, I totally understood and felt how Peter did when Mantis admitted she was his sister. I might have even shed a tear or two over it.
I'm getting sick and tired of Peter's character having story moments that cause me any sort of tears d*mn't! First his mom and cancer, then his real daddy Yondu perishing... it never ends!
My older sister years ago contacted me out of the blue. On Myspace. I was so excited to have one my sister's in my life. Only problem was she was abusive towards me. Like really bad. I remember one time on the phone. She was blaming me for ruining her life. Said me being born. Some how took our mom from her. That I was her favorite. Blamed me for things before I was born. Said when died as a baby. I should have stayed dead. She lied to people about me. Told my gf I tried to do something inappropriate with her. Basically she made it clear she hates me and blames me. It seemed the only reason she ever talk to me was to hurt me. I also think she did something to me when was really little. I don't want to type it out. Even though I was really little. Like two or three. I ashamed of it.

After losing his mother and finding out his father didn't care about him (at least not on an emotional level). I think Peter deserves a sister that worries and cares about him.

Their personalities mesh well together too, they're both not afraid to be goofy.

@@MrDeathBunny People dissed this movie, comparing it to the Star Wars Holiday Special, but I think that they're missing the POINT. George Lucas' much - derided Holiday Steaming Pile o' Merde " Special " should've been like this.
The fact that she was so scared to tell him, shows her fear of being rejected by him.
Her relief to being accepted by her brother, is adorable.
I'm glad Peter accepted her, and she accepted him.
At least now, they aren't alone, blood family wise.

This better be canon! Not just for the sibling bond.
I find it hilarious that Rocket just has Buckys arm hanging up and just looks at it and like “ha, never gets old”
In GOTG3 Quill mentions that he has his sister and that's all he needs, referring to Mantis.
definitely Canon, it’s events from before GotG 3
They better make reference to Bucky randomly losing his arm to Nebula in the future!!!
My favourite detail about this scene is how when Yondu died and Peter was talking about having a father, he said how sometimes the thing you want the most is right there by your side the entire time without you knowing. Mantis spent the whole special trying to find Peter the perfect gift without knowing she herself was that perfect gift the whole time.
Love when Drax laughting hugs Mantis & Mantis get his emotion :D So much taking care about small details
Can we appreciate that Groot gave everyone a piece of himself?
As someone who loves making miniature things, I absolutely loved Groots gifts! And Kraglin was more gracious than I would have been at the little corpse gift (I have had cats, and have gotten gifts like that).

I know it's only makeup etc but I find Mantis very attractive, and of course all of the above.
What's even better about this scene is that when she hugged him her powers would have meant that she would have felt all of the joy he was feeling.
It’s so nice how Mantis went through a lot of trouble to get Peter a perfect present through Kevin Bacon, when really her being his sister was the perfect present!

My two favourite nebula parts in this scene.
2:16 Nebula actually taken back by the fact groot got her a present. Its sad cos she ovbiously has never been given a gift before and ovbiously thinks she doesn't deserve it.
2:47 i love how nebula doesn't fully commit to the group hug. She is clearly more affectionate than before but she's still nebula so she struggles to fully embrace everyone in the hug
Easily one of the most pure and heartfelt stories in the MCU. This short film was a beautiful addition to Marvel.
what I love about this is that mantis' powers are emotional & thru touch so she really really felt Peter's hug and what he felt when it happened. they both found family :,]
Love how when they all hug, nebula just pats their backs, so funny, she's trying you guys, affection is hard 😭🤣
This is why the Guardians are my favorite. Despite how weird they all are, they're surprisingly real.

Peter accepting Mantis as his half-sister is the greatest thing he ever did. 😊
Poor Mantis had to watch all of her siblings die at the hands of her father. Finally, in Peter, she got to keep one, and he got her too. That's so sweet.

Story time :
Two years ago I found out that I had a sister from my dads side that I never knew about. We got close but was hesitant at first because we never knew about each other. But when we did get close , I have never connected with someone so much in my life like I did with her. She was 20 and I was 19 and we had the same birthday ❤ z we became inseparable. I’m summer of last year i introduced her to marvel movies and she loved them and even bought some comics herself and always asked me questions and would wanna watch the movies over and over again whenever she found out about a Easter egg and even told me stuff I didn’t realize as I watched these movies since iron man came out. Then the worst day of my life …. August 18th 2022 came. My mom left for work and me and her was in the middle of doing chores , I was cleaning the bathroom and she was in the living room and I heard a thud. I went to go check and she was on the floor , couldn’t move and said she was in pain. I called the police and then my mom cause I didn’t know what to do. The next day we found out she had cancer stage 4 and it was spreading fast. I was so hurt and so angry I ran out of the room cause I couldn’t take it. I’ve been through some fucked up shit but this was the worst heartache I have ever felt. To the point where I didn’t even wanna be around her cause I couldn’t see her like that…. I was so so so so angry and I prayed and asked God to please if he could do anything please don’t take her away from me. Take anything from me but her. But there’s a reason for everything and unfortunately I lost her two weeks later. I was always an only child and always wanted a sibling , I got one then she was taken from me. Haven’t watched any marvel movies since not even the new ones that came out. This video pops up today (may26 , 2023) Dont know why , so I went ahead and watched it. And broke down. I feel like I’m some way the universe or God or Her reached out to me in some weird way to tell me everything is gonna be okay. Idk if I can watch the movies at the moment but I’m gonna give it a try sometime soon. If anyone reading this has siblings no matter where they come from, the age gap , or even different parents, please love them. Love them as much as u can, hug them, spend time with them do whatever u can to be around them cause u never know. Losing a sibling is worse than a break up or any other loss. Sometimes even a parent. She was a part of me that I didn’t have long but I’m so happy I got to experience and it was the greatest love I have ever felt in my life and ever will feel. I’m alone again physically but spiritually I can feel her and she’s always with me.
SO incredibly Sorry for your great loss, my Sincerest Condolences! 😢
My Sister and I are only 2 years apart and super close, as well!
I can't even imagine what you're going through?!; however, a little over 3 years ago I lost my Dad to a long fought battle with Cancer, I was naturally devastated and we were VERY close!
Then, as if that wasn't hard enough, I lost my Beloved Husband, the Love of my Life, to a major Ischemic stroke, about 3 Months ago!
I'm still DEVASTATED and HEARTBROKEN! 😭💔
In the course of about 3 years, I lost the 2 most important Men in my Life, (other than God Almighty and Jesus Christ); so I DEFINITELY feel your agony and pain!!
I always found a comment like this in videos about families or emotional matters. Its curious that is always in videos of series, videogames or movies.
My condolences are with you.. I'm sure your sister wished you to be happy forever ❤️
That means that the thousands of other children Ego had were her siblings too. It opens up a whole nother dimension of disturbing knowing that she was watching enough of her family to populate a world be slaughtered one by one just because they weren't useful to their own dad. It really redefines how disturbing Ego's psychological grip was on her. She was literally living on a foundation of her siblings' bodies.
1:24 lmao i love his excited little hop
Ego did love Peter’s mom legitimately, almost giving up being immortal. Maybe he saw how useful Mantis was with her powers, but also deep down loved her too. Maybe she was just too sweet and innocent for him to destroy. The last shred of humanity he had from his time with Peter’s mom.
That and her powers were useful
He didn't love Peter's mom. In the movie, it is pretty clear he used this so called love he had for her as leverage to manipulate Peter. You don't poison someone with cancer if you love them. She was just another useless human to him. And his take on her knowing every song on the radio seemed almost sarcastic.
Knowing why she gave him the arm and his face is priceless 😢
That is so cute!

Holy crap that has got to be the most wholesome heartfelt moment in all of Guardians of the Galaxy! Okay...... next to Yondu's death.... but that was more heartbreaking than wholesome. Seeing Star Lord accept Mantis as his sister is just.... 100% awesomesauce. Though, I gotta say. I had a feeling there was more of a connection between Peter and Mantis. After all, for a while, she was Ego's favorite. It'd make more sense that Mantis was one of Ego's many children.
They really casted the right mantis for the movie
Cute Mantis... I love her so much
Same here so innocent and sweet and funny
And the best part was how Peter looked so lovingly at the mantis in Thor 4 🤤 And then he finds out she's his sister
If you think about it it's step sister
@@greenscreenpie9218 half sister. Not the same
@@greenscreenpie9218 A step-sister would mean that they do not share a biological parent and their parents simply got married. A half sister means that they share one biological parent.
@@fabplays6559 ooo
Reminds you of luke and Leia
This makes the original story even darker. Ego commits mass murder of his own children as he searches for one child who he considers to be special. Now to add that he uses his daughter to help him kill her siblings and she is aware that they are her siblings that’s is disturbingly dark.
How could she have known? No doubt she was a Baby when Ego killed all his other Children other than Peter Quill and Mantis! 😢
Seeing Drax so happy is fun to watch
Family always stay together.
Like Peter and Mantis. .
I was adopted and raised as an only child in a highly abusive home. Fast forward to 21 and I found out I had 9 biological siblings. 2 important lessons I've learned. There is no greater gift than your presence! When life gets hard and you feel your light going out... Hold. On... There is always the light at the end of the tunnel, in one way, shape, form or another. If I had given up, I wouldn't have my brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews and a light to continue to shine! 💖
My father didn't raise me or my brother, so we didn't know each other. He didn't know about me, but I knew about him. He moved from Florida back to Connecticut, right down the street from me. I went right to his door and told him he my brother. I connected with Mantis ,her fear and joy is exactly what I felt. What a beautiful moment
I like to imagine that Nebula snuck into Becky’s place, stole the vibranium arm, and then Bucky woke up without an arm and had to embarrassingly go to Wakanda and request another one.
so instead of an awkward teen phase, Groot goes through an awkward young adult phase then cause THIS Groot looks exactly like someone wearing a cosplay costume instead of the amazing CGI they had for every other version of Groot lol
It was a Christmas special for a very expensive movie series. Not exactly surprising they cut corners somewhere.
@@Norinia they cut corners in the Guardians of the galaxy 3 MOVIE as well apparently cause he looks exactly the same in the trailers.
A Superman movie should be as wholesome as this.
They got Batman when it's light out
1:14 Probably the cutest Groot scene ever. 🥺
The best part about this is that even though the words are perfect, Peter didn't actually have to say a thing after Mantis told him. She would have known just by feeling his reaction.
Kids these days need to understand what a gift James Gunn has provided them. My parents were sadly given the Star Wars holiday special which is beloved now but at the time was a complete dud. Kids today have this amazing holiday special that actually provoked emotion and will go down as the greatest holiday special ever.
Kudos to Pom Klementieff for portraying more realistic emotion here than in the entirety of Love & Thunder
Drax charm under his tough fit is such an undertated aspect of him and makes me go aww!
Id have started crying after saying "does that make you my sister?" And i wouldve given her the biggest hug ever
I think it is cool, and wholesome that Mantis shared her own emotions.
My bf and I watched this right when it came out because we were searching for stuff to watch. Didn't know what to expect but it was so funny and heartwarming. I definitely teared up as Mantis told Peter and he said it was the greatest gift. Especially since she spent the whole episode trying to find him the best gift and make the holiday great. She was the best present all along. Very wholesome
"We are looking for the legendary Kevin Bacon" 😂😂😂😂
This is the Marvel I want. Not whatever Thor 4 and Ant Man 3 was
Was ant man 3 bad?
I didn't watch it
@@Hydarko very fucking trash. in short : Women out powered The Conqueror. its so fucking bad
What’s wrong with Thor 4?
well you'll have to settle for dc for more james gunn lol
I never got all the ppl who were trashing on Groot's CGI work. I think he looks great!
1:09 is so cute 🥺
Sweet! Brother accepts sister unconditionally in spite of her differences! 🙂😉😊
Has she always loved him? And knew she was his sister
She did what a true sister would do and outed his feelings towards Gamora in front of everyone 🤣🤣
@@Pandemomium4Lifethat was a true little sister move there 😂 I WAS that little sister when I was younger 🤣
@@charlottemartin4715 bruh I hate you 😂😂
@@charlottemartin4715 wouldn't she be older than him? I believe shes been around for a while and ego only kept her for her abilities. So she had to watch her other siblings throughout the years
Groot’s little shake makes my day every time i see it 😊
Her face showed 3 degrees of sad/confused then 3 degrees of happy/relieved. What a marvelous actress!
2:45 nice detail here: Nebula joins the group hug but feels awkward
Drax is generally loyal to his wife & child in life & death. What a man.
I just realized the happy music at 0:49 sounds similar to the sad music used in Volume 3
2:58 wHaT aRe yOu dOiNg?? 😂
Drax and mantis are dumbasses and I love it
"Greatest Christmas gift I can ever get" everything about this was so wholesome
Did you noticed that Mantis and Gamora are the only who calls Quill by first name?
