Really like how that Scorpion is turning out. That charging handle is very nice. That’s one thing I’ve yet to change on mine, that and the mag release.
The old charging handle is squared off so there is less surface area in contact with the round channel. Less friction. I have yet to find an extended handle that uses the rectangular profile. It's much smoother than the round profile handles
When you remove the charging handle through the front (barrel side) , make sure when the handle is all the way forward and the pin is removed that you use a punch from the opposite side to depress the retention spring that's on the shaft of the charging handle. Not doing this and forcing it out will cause profuse swearing, a marred up gun, and a pretty unusable charging handle in case you wanted to use it for ambi.
Can you recommend punch(s) to use on swapping parts out for the scorpion. Been buying parts (safety switch, magazine release, charge handle) and will look into trigger, 5 pound spring and trigger that way I have them on hand for when my scorpion comes in.
@@ryanp6072 I just picked up a Weaver punch set that came with a mallet and hard case a few years ago. Easy to find on amazon or whatever and something you should have for regular maintenance. I do not recall the size punch but, as long as it is small enough to pass through, it will work. You are only using the punch to depress a spring clip, you could use glued together dried spaghetti noodles and it would complete the same task so don't get too hung up on that part. all of those are awesome mods and pretty easy to do (the trigger spring kinda sucks installing..) but, the mag release is a game changer in my opinion with how easy it is to go through ammo on the Scorpion.

@@ryanp6072 There's not really any one page that goes over a full scorpion build that I've found to be the end all be all. The trigger spring/ trigger mfg site did a good job, check out Parker mountain machine, HB Industries, I love the Pakse handguard on mine BUT... The amount of rockset they put on from the MFG is OTHER WORLDLY. It's practically a weld at the barrel. It made me want to rethink my life. I also didn't have a vise at the time... Mistakes were made... but, it was worth it. Removing the barrel is still terrible and there is probably still DNA all over my factory handguard.
CAN YOU RUN TWO CHARGING HANDLES? I changed mine over BUT want to Run Both Sides! WHAT IS THE RETAINING PINS SCTUAL NAME? I can see it being a necessary item to have SPARE! (Part# would be Great too!) Thank You!

I was about to go red/red but somehow good senses came to me and I got black 😂 I think red looks cool but I intend to upgrade to Timney later and it only comes in black.

Comin along nicely! I chose red for my trigger and charging handle, but I think I'd go black if I could do over.
