i love your catch phrase, "stay safe, stay legal." Honestly that is probably the best phrase anyone could think of for your types of videos. I have never picked a lock but i really enjoy watching your vids, keep it up!

How about, "Barely Legal",? That one may already be taken. I have those picks in original steel. Those picks could be cut down the middle so you would have 8 picks, not 4, would be great for small padlocks. You still need the original set for double sided. Can make the small padlock jigglers from wiper blades. The Stainless is nice

These types of real estate locks have been in use for decades. But there are different manufacturers, so different locking mechanisms.
You should try the Supra-C line of real estate locks. Some have Bell, Eagle type slider locks as well as hi security tubular locks.

I see a good use of this. You can put in a FAKE DOOR KEY and it will confuse the thief.

P. De Rop what's funny about the fake key is that it trolls the thief. You can also at the same time put an alarm

Hi Bill, have you tried jiggling open these locks with only a tension wrench. It actually works for me so I tested all my picks too with a tension wrench and no surprise it works.
These locks are garbage.

We have different ones down here but I like the looks of them, even with the crappy wafer lock.✌🇦🇺

Are car door locks waffers too? I havent seen you do a car door pick yet, but not sayin its not up here out of your 500+ vids. If you havent, it be really cool to see!
Most car locks produced now are wafer locks. A few decades ago many car locks were pin tumbler type, especially Ford, Chrysler, Jaguar and Rolls Royce. Older GM locks were wafer locks but had a sidebar locking mechanism. They were very hard to pick with regular picking tools. Rocker picks would sometimes work, though.
techtrain65 to be fair, the sidebar style GM locks don't open with the key a lot of the time...

yes wafer locks can be opened with a bump key but not by hitting them!
a bump key will work better as I only have to open one lock!
They have a website, but these boxes are only 20 something dollars in single quantities. Also they have apparently shifted to tubular locks and combo locks.

Yeah that lock washer does come off on that part you said he can't get them apart I've took them apart off tool boxes and everything else when even a Snap-On says you can't change those locks it only takes 5 minutes to do it and I'm not a locksmith I'm just a jack of all trades and master of none

I know the use of these, you can buy 1000 of these locks and put keys inside, make sure only one of them can open your door, put them all outside your house and let the thiefs pick them all open

How do you recognize a wafer lock by looking at the key?
I don't understand why no one (seem to) make a lock that can't be picked, bumped, drilled etc. I doubt they can't. I know I could. I actually have a solution, and there should be others as well. So why don't they?

ive got thatwafer lock on a lockbox i was given from my parents who bought it at a second hand store. its a double sided wafer lock, ive only been picking for a week. i can already do standard pin and tumbler fairly easy but the wafer lock on this thing is very hard for me. even using the key it requires a lot of force to get it in the hole and turn it, is the lock pickable?
Have ya tried a lubricant?
Like wd40 or i think theres 1 called lock lube etc im also a newbie 2weeks in any way just a thought
I can't fathom why you would store keys in something that you need a key for... why not just carry the keys with you?
+AdamHH11 realtors, alarm companies etc. would have to carry a huge number of keys and remember what key to use where, instead put a place to store a key at each house and you only need to carry one key
+AdamHH11 they dont even use button or key locks anymore they use encrypted unlock apps on their phones that records who went in and out and when so they know if somethings wrong who was there at the time.

Since that's just a cam lock, could you replace the cylinder with a more secure cylinder?

The cast zinc case will open really easily with a hammer, don't waste a good lock on it

Olivier Cauffopé There is the answer as well as modify the wafers with false gates. Or better yet put a simple pin tumbler in it. but all manufacturers make locks of that size. So I would say yes you can put a different core in it.
